    2. Latch needle according to Claim 1, characterised in that the distance (15) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the upper side (12) of the latch shank is greater than the distance (16) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the lower side (10) of the latch shank.

Latch needle according to Claim 2, characterised in that the distance (15) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the upper side (12) of the latch shank amounts to about twice to three times the distance (16) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the lower side (10) of the latch shank.
    4. Latch needle according to Claim 1, characterised in that the distance (15) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the upper side (12) of the latch shank is smaller than the distance (16) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the lower side (10) of the latch shank.
    5. Latch needle according to Claim 4, characterised in that the distance (15) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the upper side (12) of the latch shank amounts to about half to one third of the distance (16) between the edge of the bearing bore (13) and the lower side (10) of the latch shank.
