- the hermaphrodite contacts according to the invention are flat and of substantially rectangular shape. They consist of two adjoining and integral blades on one of the small edges of each contact, which result from the folding on itself of an initial blade of double length.
- the contact 1 is formed by two blades 1A and 1B joined and integral on the small edge 2 of the contact. It comprises two elastic terminal arms 3A and 3B, each belonging to one of the blades and of width substantially half of the blade, which extend one on one side and the other on the other side of the longitudinal axis of the contact and are opposite the edge 2.
- This contact also includes an insulation displacement fork 4, open opposite the elastic arms 3A and 3B.
- This fork is substantially axial on contact. It is defined from two deep U-shaped slots 5A and 5B, each made in one of the blades and partially overlapping. Each slot extends on one of its sides the corresponding elastic arm and defines on the other of its sides a truncated branch 6A or 6B, depending on the blade. It forms a notch transition 7A or 7B at its departure on the arm which it extends. These two slots are superimposed on the longitudinal axis of the contact and thus define the self-stripping fork of small width, between the internal edges of the truncated branches 6A and 6B.
- the contact also has, approximately at the same level as the bottom of the insulation displacement fork, two teeth, projecting on the external edges of the elastic arms and of the truncated branches and identically marked 1AB.
- an access opening 7 to the insulation displacement fork is defined by the opening of each of the slots 5A and 5B. It is delimited on the one hand between terminal chamfers 4A and 4B on the internal edges of the two truncated branches, which form an entry Vee on the insulation displacement fork, and on the other hand by the two notch transitions 7A and 7B .
- This access opening allows the easy insertion of an insulated conductor at the front of the fork, for its connection by pushing it to the bottom of this fork.

- the two terminal elastic arms 13A and 13B of the contact 10 are provided with a width slightly greater than half the width of the contact. They overlap each other in the axial end portion of the contact.
- the internal edges 18A and 18B of these arms are rectilinear and terminate in a terminal chamfer, not referenced, on each of them.
- the two terminal elastic arms 23A and 23B of the contact 20 are, on the other hand, of width substantially less than half the width of the contact. They have their internal edges 28A and 28B set back with respect to the axis of the contact and leave a gap between them along which the access opening 27 is open and opens on the edge opposite to the edge 22.
- This interval is of width substantially equal to or slightly less than that of the overlapping parts of the elastic arms of the contact 10.
- connection defined by the two contacts 10 and 20 ensures better coupling of the elastic arms of the contacts. It makes it possible to compensate for a lesser pressure between the internal edges of two of the elastic arms situated in the same plane and such as the arms 13A and 23A, by increased pressure between the internal edges of the other two elastic arms 13B and 23B.
- the elastic arms of only one of these two contacts 10 and 20, here of the contact 10 abut on the end of the two truncated branches 26A and 26B of the other contact 20, while the elastic arms 23A and 23B of this other contact leave a clearance between them and the truncated branches 16A and 16B of the first contact 10.
