Definitions
- the invention relates to agents for cleaning or treating surfaces, consisting of a flexible, absorbent carrier material, and methods for their production.
- the invention is particularly concerned with cloth or sponge-like agents for cleaning or treating surfaces.
- Cleaning and cleaning cloths used up to now consist of a woven fabric, knitted fabric, knitted fabric, fleece or plastic foam. Even if they have an open structure, their surface can be described as predominantly smooth.
- the dirt is primarily rubbed and distributed and, if necessary, spread into a thin film, which is finally absorbed with the cloth after many wiping processes.
- abrasive abrasives must also be used.
- Velor fabrics also have essentially no other effect, because the soft yarns used for this purpose fold against the wiping direction when wiping and thus remain largely ineffective. Better results can be achieved with hard foams that tear open dirty surfaces due to their large number of relatively hard edges. Due to their open porosity, they absorb liquid to a certain extent in liquid cleaning. On the other hand, it is not possible with these agents to enable a clean final cleaning of the surface, i.e. to completely absorb moisture, to dry the surface or to polish it at the same time. The same applies to those synthetic fiber fabrics that are profiled by thermal treatment and partially cured from the melt (DE 86 25 683 U).
- the invention has for its object to provide means for cleaning or treating surfaces that with sufficient flexibility to adapt to surfaces of different contours have a mechanically effective, dirt-removing function.
- This object is achieved with an agent consisting of a flexible, absorbent carrier material in that monofilaments with a diameter of 0.001 to 1,000 mm and a length greater than 0.01 mm are applied in layers on at least one surface of the carrier material.
- the agent designed according to the invention thus consists of a flexible carrier material of conventional type, which is additionally absorbent, and a region-by-region coating of monofilaments, the diameter of the monofilaments preferably being in the diameter range customary for bristles.
- the bristle-like monofilaments open up dirty surfaces due to their mechanical effect. Furthermore, particularly effective cleaning and cleaning edges are created on the lateral boundary of the coated areas, while storage spaces for the dirt are formed between the coated areas. These areas can, however, also be brought into direct effect on the surface to be cleaned by applying stronger pressure, and thus their different effect compared to the monofilaments can be used. Loose dirt is picked up like a plow and picked up in the monofilament layer or in the area between them.
- the cleaning effect - more scratchy or more wiping - can be dosed by the pressure, in that the transition between the coated and the uncoated areas is more or less effective. Due to the flexible design of the carrier material, even angled contours can be easily achieved. The capillary action between the monofilaments enables the additional absorption and dispensing of liquids.
- the monofilaments in the coated areas have the same orientation with respect to the surface of the carrier material.
- the surface of the carrier material can be exposed outside the areas coated with monofilaments, or it can also be coated with monofilaments, but in a different orientation with respect to the surface of the carrier material. This enables different cleaning effects to be created when wiping in different directions.
- Several sides of the flat or three-dimensional carrier material can also be coated with monofilaments in order to enable double-sided or multi-sided application.
- Different sides of the carrier material can optionally be coated with different monofilaments, in particular monofilaments of different lengths and / or different diameters and / or different materials, so that a multi-purpose cleaning agent is produced.
- the locally delimited areas of the monofilaments can have the same or different base areas.
- desired effects can be assigned to certain areas of the carrier material, for example by providing larger accumulations of monofilaments in the middle area, which can be taken into account as a rule the stronger wear in the middle area.
- the locally delimited regions of the monofilaments have an approximately circular base area or are formed in a point shape and the fibers are arranged in a spatially radial manner.
- hedgehog-like monofil areas are created which enable particularly effective cleaning.
- the ends of the monofilaments can lie on a spherical envelope surface.
- the surface of the carrier material can also have depressions which are coated with the monofilaments.
- the depressions form storage spaces for dirt and, due to the strength of the pressure, different cleaning effects can be achieved.
- the monofilaments can be fused to the carrier material, which is particularly useful if the carrier material and monofilaments consist of affine plastics that can be joined together by fusing.
- the monofilaments can also be glued to the carrier material, which is particularly useful for very different materials.
- the adhesive can optionally have a foam structure so as not to impair this absorbency, for example in the case of absorbent carrier material.
- a water-impermeable adhesive can also be provided. Alternating permeable and impermeable areas can also be provided. After all, the adhesive can only be applied in certain areas or applied over the entire surface or the areas provided with adhesive can be connected to one another by adhesive traces.
- the preferred range for the length of the monofilaments is between 0.500 and 10,000 mm.
- the monofilaments are preferably made of viscose, polyester or polyamide, but can also consist of natural fibers. They can have a round or polygonal cross-section in order to achieve different effects. Round profiles will have a more wiping and nourishing effect, while polygonal profiles will have a scraping and scratching effect.
- the monofilaments can also be filled with particles, for example to enable an abrasive effect.
- the monofilaments can be machined at their ends on the usage side and / or on the fastening side.
- they can be widened at the end on the usage side, have heads or the like, in order to be able to access them Way to achieve special effects with wiping and cleaning movements.
- Widenings or thickenings at the fastening-side end can be provided in particular to improve the integration of the monofilaments in the carrier material or the adhesive.
- the carrier material itself can be closed or broken, e.g. be grid-like. It can consist of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric, a knitted fabric, a fleece, a film or of paper or leather. Instead, it can also be formed from a sponge or foamed plastic. Here, too, the selection will be made according to the intended use.
- the carrier material can be printed in color, while the monofilaments are colorless. This enables decorative effects to be achieved through the light-guiding properties of the colorless monofilaments. Similar effects result if a colored adhesive is used to connect the monofilaments to the carrier material, whereas the monofilaments are colorless or of a different color.
- the effect of the monofilaments can finally be varied by roughening, embossing or widening at least one end of their surface.
- Such broadening can be achieved, for example, by melting.
- the monofilaments and / or the carrier material and / or the adhesive consist of decomposable materials, so that a landfill material is provided.
- the monofilaments and the carrier material can also consist of sterilizable material in order to be able to use it in the clinical and cosmetic field.
- the invention further relates to a method for producing the agent described above.
- a method for producing the agent described above is characterized in that the carrier material is melted or provided with an adhesive at least in some areas and the monofilaments are applied by sieving, pouring on, inflating or in an electrostatic field. As a rule, a disoriented, confused arrangement will be obtained.
- the monofilaments can be folded over after being applied to the carrier material in order to align them at an angle other than 90 °. This can take place with the adhesive not yet cured or the melt not yet solidified, if appropriate also at elevated temperature.
- the monofilaments align themselves essentially vertically on this surface, while they are predominantly in a confused arrangement during coating, in particular flocking from above.
- a locally limited coating with the monofilaments is possible, in particular, by dropping the adhesive onto the carrier material and applying the monofilaments to the spherical adhesive surface. This is due in particular to the surface tension in the drop of glue the hedgehog-like structures mentioned in the monofilament coating.
- a carrier material 1 for example in the form of a blank 2, made of a woven fabric, knitted fabric, knitted fabric or non-woven fabric.
- This base material 1 is left in its original structure on its underside, while it is coated on its upper side 4 with bristle-like monofilaments 5 over the entire surface. They can be attached to the carrier material 1 by gluing.
- the carrier material consists of a thermoplastic, it can optionally also be melted on its surface 4 and the monofilaments 5 can be integrated into the melted surface.
- Such an adhesive or melt layer is designated by 6.
- the monofilaments 5 are preferably applied by electrostatic flocking or by sieving, shaking or inflating.
- the upper side 4 of the blank 2 coated with the monofilaments 5 is used, for example, for cleaning, loosening dirt or the like, while the underside 3, which is primarily smooth, can be used for maintenance, polishing or the like.
- the adhesive 10 is applied only in some areas and, accordingly, the monofilaments 5 are only provided in these areas, while the surface of the carrier material 1 is exposed in the other areas.
- the carrier material 1 has depressions 11 in which the monofilaments 5 are in turn fastened by means of adhesive 10.
- FIG. 4 the areas coated with adhesive 10 and monofilaments 5 (see FIG. 2) are connected to one another by adhesive traces 12, as is the case with the exemplary embodiment according to FIGS. 6 and 7.
- an adhesive layer 13 is applied continuously to the carrier material 1 and a further adhesive 14 is applied to it in regions and only these regions are coated with monofilaments.
- the monofilaments can be deposited by dropping the adhesive 14 or by its surface tension 5 are aligned at different angles and their free ends can lie on a curved envelope surface.
- the embodiment according to FIG. 8 in turn has a carrier material 1 with depressions 16 in which an adhesive 17 is applied, which is anchored in additional depressions 18 and in turn fixes monofilaments 5.
- the carrier material 1 is impregnated with an adhesive 19 and a further adhesive 20 is applied to this impregnated layer only in the areas which are coated with monofilaments 5.
- FIG. 10 and 11 show a thicker adhesive layer 21 on the carrier material 1, in which monofilaments 5 are partially embedded (FIG. 10) or up to their free ends (FIG. 11).
- This version is particularly suitable for monofilaments of larger diameter, e.g. stronger bristles, and therefore for large cleaning.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to agents for cleaning or treating surfaces, consisting of a flexible, absorbent carrier material, and methods for their production.
The invention is particularly concerned with cloth or sponge-like agents for cleaning or treating surfaces. Cleaning and cleaning cloths used up to now consist of a woven fabric, knitted fabric, knitted fabric, fleece or plastic foam. Even if they have an open structure, their surface can be described as predominantly smooth. As a result, when cleaning and cleaning soiled surfaces, the dirt is primarily rubbed and distributed and, if necessary, spread into a thin film, which is finally absorbed with the cloth after many wiping processes. In the case of stubbornly adhering dirt, such cloths often fail to function or the dirt has to be slowly removed with a lot of moisture and long wiping movements will eventually be included. In many cases, abrasive abrasives must also be used. Velor fabrics also have essentially no other effect, because the soft yarns used for this purpose fold against the wiping direction when wiping and thus remain largely ineffective.
Gleiches gilt für Reinigungstücher, die aus einer mittleren Trägerschicht und einer Faserschicht auf deren einer Seite und einer saugfähigen Schicht auf deren anderer Seite bestehen (DE 40 23 345 A1).Attempts have also already been made to combine the positive properties of sponges or foams, namely their ability to store liquids or their absorbency, with the positive properties of a brush, namely the scratching and opening effect of the bristles, by embedding bristle bundles in a sponge body (DE 86 12 080 U,
The invention has for its object to provide means for cleaning or treating surfaces that with sufficient flexibility to adapt to surfaces of different contours have a mechanically effective, dirt-removing function.
This object is achieved with an agent consisting of a flexible, absorbent carrier material in that monofilaments with a diameter of 0.001 to 1,000 mm and a length greater than 0.01 mm are applied in layers on at least one surface of the carrier material.
The agent designed according to the invention thus consists of a flexible carrier material of conventional type, which is additionally absorbent, and a region-by-region coating of monofilaments, the diameter of the monofilaments preferably being in the diameter range customary for bristles. The bristle-like monofilaments open up dirty surfaces due to their mechanical effect. The cleaning effect - more scratchy or more wiping - can be dosed by the pressure, in that the transition between the coated and the uncoated areas is more or less effective. Due to the flexible design of the carrier material, even angled contours can be easily achieved. The capillary action between the monofilaments enables the additional absorption and dispensing of liquids.
In a preferred embodiment, the monofilaments in the coated areas have the same orientation with respect to the surface of the carrier material.
The surface of the carrier material can be exposed outside the areas coated with monofilaments, or it can also be coated with monofilaments, but in a different orientation with respect to the surface of the carrier material. This enables different cleaning effects to be created when wiping in different directions.
Several sides of the flat or three-dimensional carrier material can also be coated with monofilaments in order to enable double-sided or multi-sided application. Different sides of the carrier material can optionally be coated with different monofilaments, in particular monofilaments of different lengths and / or different diameters and / or different materials, so that a multi-purpose cleaning agent is produced.
The locally delimited areas of the monofilaments can have the same or different base areas. In the former case there is a correspondingly uniform effect, in the second case desired effects can be assigned to certain areas of the carrier material, for example by providing larger accumulations of monofilaments in the middle area, which can be taken into account as a rule the stronger wear in the middle area.
Similar effects can be achieved in that the locally delimited areas of the monofilament are arranged evenly or unevenly distributed.
In a particularly preferred embodiment, it is provided that the locally delimited regions of the monofilaments have an approximately circular base area or are formed in a point shape and the fibers are arranged in a spatially radial manner. With this embodiment, hedgehog-like monofil areas are created which enable particularly effective cleaning. The ends of the monofilaments can lie on a spherical envelope surface.
The surface of the carrier material can also have depressions which are coated with the monofilaments. Here, too, the depressions form storage spaces for dirt and, due to the strength of the pressure, different cleaning effects can be achieved.
The monofilaments can be fused to the carrier material, which is particularly useful if the carrier material and monofilaments consist of affine plastics that can be joined together by fusing.
Instead, the monofilaments can also be glued to the carrier material, which is particularly useful for very different materials. The adhesive can optionally have a foam structure so as not to impair this absorbency, for example in the case of absorbent carrier material. Instead, a water-impermeable adhesive can also be provided. Alternating permeable and impermeable areas can also be provided. After all, the adhesive can only be applied in certain areas or applied over the entire surface or the areas provided with adhesive can be connected to one another by adhesive traces.
An adaptation to the respective intended use of the agent is possible in a simple manner by selecting the diameter and / or the density and / or the material of the monofilaments.
A selection can be recommended in that the monofilaments have a diameter of 0.001 to 0.020 mm for wiping purposes, 0.010 to 0.030 mm for polishing purposes, 0.010 to 0.250 mm for abrasive purposes and 0.100 to 0.500 mm for grinding purposes.
The preferred range for the length of the monofilaments is between 0.500 and 10,000 mm.
The monofilaments are preferably made of viscose, polyester or polyamide, but can also consist of natural fibers. They can have a round or polygonal cross-section in order to achieve different effects. Round profiles will have a more wiping and nourishing effect, while polygonal profiles will have a scraping and scratching effect.
The monofilaments can also be filled with particles, for example to enable an abrasive effect.
Furthermore, the monofilaments can be machined at their ends on the usage side and / or on the fastening side. For example, they can be widened at the end on the usage side, have heads or the like, in order to be able to access them Way to achieve special effects with wiping and cleaning movements. Widenings or thickenings at the fastening-side end can be provided in particular to improve the integration of the monofilaments in the carrier material or the adhesive.
The carrier material itself can be closed or broken, e.g. be grid-like. It can consist of a woven fabric, a knitted fabric, a knitted fabric, a fleece, a film or of paper or leather. Instead, it can also be formed from a sponge or foamed plastic. Here, too, the selection will be made according to the intended use.
The carrier material can be printed in color, while the monofilaments are colorless. This enables decorative effects to be achieved through the light-guiding properties of the colorless monofilaments. Similar effects result if a colored adhesive is used to connect the monofilaments to the carrier material, whereas the monofilaments are colorless or of a different color.
The effect of the monofilaments can finally be varied by roughening, embossing or widening at least one end of their surface. Such broadening can be achieved, for example, by melting.
It is particularly advantageous if the monofilaments and / or the carrier material and / or the adhesive consist of decomposable materials, so that a landfill material is provided.
The monofilaments and the carrier material can also consist of sterilizable material in order to be able to use it in the clinical and cosmetic field.
The invention further relates to a method for producing the agent described above. Such a method is characterized in that the carrier material is melted or provided with an adhesive at least in some areas and the monofilaments are applied by sieving, pouring on, inflating or in an electrostatic field. As a rule, a disoriented, confused arrangement will be obtained.
If necessary, the monofilaments can be folded over after being applied to the carrier material in order to align them at an angle other than 90 °. This can take place with the adhesive not yet cured or the melt not yet solidified, if appropriate also at elevated temperature.
If at least one surface of the carrier material is coated with the monofilaments from below, the monofilaments align themselves essentially vertically on this surface, while they are predominantly in a confused arrangement during coating, in particular flocking from above.
A locally limited coating with the monofilaments is possible, in particular, by dropping the adhesive onto the carrier material and applying the monofilaments to the spherical adhesive surface. This is due in particular to the surface tension in the drop of glue the hedgehog-like structures mentioned in the monofilament coating.
