Definitions
- Some rules are made up of one-piece elements and therefore must be the desired length. They are held between the ceiling and the floor by a screw device called a jack. Others are telescopic and adapt to a greater or lesser height of parts. The telescopic part, immobilized in its sheath, the rule is blocked between the floor and the ceiling thanks to the pressure of a pre-compressed spring.
