Description

  • une chambre délimitée par un stator, à alésage cylindrique, et par deux flasques latéraux, circulaires, dont l'un d'entre eux comporte un orifice d'entrée et un orifice de sortie;
  • un rotor, cylindrique, excentré par rapport à ladite chambre, comportant, à la périphérie, d'une part, au moins deux palettes, articulées et amovibles, et, d'autre part, des évidements aptes à loger complétement lesdites palettes et dans lesquels débouchent, pendant la rotation dudit rotor, lesdits orifices d'entrée et de sortie;
The invention relates to a vane pump, capable of sucking up more or less viscous liquids or pasty, grainy or fibrous materials such as meat, of the kind essentially comprising:
  • a chamber delimited by a stator, with a cylindrical bore, and by two lateral, circular flanges, one of which comprises an inlet orifice and an outlet orifice;
  • a rotor, cylindrical, eccentric with respect to said chamber, comprising, at the periphery, on the one hand, at least two pallets, articulated and removable, and, on the other hand, recesses suitable for completely accommodating said pallets and in which open, during the rotation of said rotor, said inlet and outlet orifices;
  • the leading edges of the rotor, and of the vanes, and the trailing edges of the inlet and outlet orifices, of the chamber, operate in the manner of a shear.

  • FR-A-2570444 qui traite d'une pompe à palettes, à dépression, dans laquelle les ouvertures d'admission et d'échappement sont de simples fentes,les palettes étant entièrement logées dans les cavités périphériques du rotor, en appui contre leur fond, et qui est utilisée à des fins d'amplification, par dépression, de la force de freinage d'un véhicule automobile;
The known pumps of the kind in question belonging to the closest technical field, are essentially described in the following patents:
  • FR-A-2570444 which deals with a vane pump, vacuum, in which the intake and exhaust openings are simple slots, the vanes being entirely housed in the peripheral cavities of the rotor, pressing against their bottom , and which is used for the purpose of amplifying, by vacuum, the braking force of a motor vehicle;
  • GB-A-957593 which deals with a vane pump in which the communication openings are also simple slots and whose vanes, of a particular type, are also entirely housed in the peripheral cavities of the rotor, pressing against them which is used exclusively for pumping liquids.
The pumps in question are designed to be used with homogeneous fluids (air, water, oil), more or less viscous, and not fluids loaded with solid matter. This results in inlet and outlet openings of reduced dimensions (slots) and paddles, in the closed position, pressed against the bottom of the rotor cavities. The use of granular or fibrous materials (of the meat type) would have the effect of blocking the rotor since no space is provided between the closed pallet and the bottom of the rotor cavity.

The invention aims to produce a pump of the type in question which can treat either more or less viscous liquids or pasty, granular or fibrous materials; of simple design at the level of the pallets which no longer include a pressure spring and at the level of the orifices input and output which include simple means for shearing the fibrous materials; easily removable for cleaning and replacement of defective parts.

The rotary vane pump according to the invention is characterized by the characteristics described in the second part of claim 1.

  • la figure 1 est une vue de face intérieure de la pompe;
  • un stator (1) à alésage cylindrique;
  • un rotor (2), cylindrique, excentré par rapport audit alésage, comportant des évidements (14), débouchant à sa périphérie, aptes à loger complétement les palettes (3) et à contenir simultanément du produit à pomper;
  • au moins deux palettes (3), articulées et amovibles, fixées pivotantes à la périphérie du rotor au moyen de logements cylindriques débouchant (15), partiellement ouverts, dans lesquels l'extrémité cylindrique (4) de la palette, faisant office d'axe, vient se loger par emboîtement glissant;
  • un orifice d'entrée (5) et un orifice de sortie (6) débouchant dans la zone dégagée par les évidements (14) pendant les phases d'aspiration et de refoulement;
  • un flasque arrière (7) et un flasque avant (8), par exemple vissés dans le stator, venant avec ce dernier délimiter la chambre (19) de la pompe;
  • les aires des évidements (14) et celles des parties pleines du rotor (2) sont identiques;
  • les orifices (5,6) d'entrée et de sortie ont des dimensions et une position telles que les parties pleines du rotor (2) viennent les obturer alternativement;
  • l'orifice de sortie (6) est positionné de telle manière que le début de son ouverture, lors du déplacement du rotor, coincide avec le début de la fermeture de la palette inférieure de sorte qu'il n'y ait pas de compression du produit à véhiculer à l'intérieur du corps de pompe;
The characteristics and advantages of the invention will appear more clearly on reading the following detailed description of a preferred embodiment of the invention given by way of non-limiting example and shown in the accompanying drawings.
In these drawings:
  • Figure 1 is an interior front view of the pump;
  • Figure 2 is a sectional side view of the pump along AA. The pump shown in the figures includes:
  • a stator (1) with a cylindrical bore;
  • a rotor (2), cylindrical, eccentric with respect to said bore, comprising recesses (14), opening at its periphery, capable of completely housing the vanes (3) and simultaneously containing product to be pumped;
  • at least two pallets (3), articulated and removable, pivotally fixed to the periphery of the rotor by means of cylindrical openings (15), partially open, in which the cylindrical end (4) of the pallet, acting as an axis , is housed by sliding interlocking;
  • an inlet (5) and an outlet (6) opening into the area cleared by the recesses (14) during the suction and delivery phases;
  • a rear flange (7) and a front flange (8), for example screwed into the stator, coming with the latter delimiting the chamber (19) of the pump;
  • an axis (9) for driving the rotor comprising a key (16) for locking in rotation.
Thus produced, the rotor has leading (10) and trailing (12) edges; the inlet and outlet ports have trailing (11) and leading (13) edges; the pallets have lateral (17) and end (18) leading edges.
The leading edges of the rotor and vanes and the trailing edges of the inlet and outlet ports work like a shear. In the preferred embodiment of the invention, as shown in the figures, the inlet and outlet openings (5,6) open entirely into the area swept by the solid parts of the rotor.
The leading edges of the rotor and of the vanes and the trailing edges of the inlet and outlet orifices, which are perpendicular to the bearing planes of said orifices, may be oblique with respect to said planes so as to form an angle with them suitable cut.
The leading edges of the rotor and of the vanes and the trailing edges of the inlet and outlet orifices, which are rectilinear in the preferred embodiment of the invention, may also have a suitable curved shape to make the shearing progressive.
The extreme edges of the pallets can also be oblique with respect to the radii of the bore at the place of their passage over the tangential peripheral openings.
The front and rear flanges can be fixed with screws.
The rotor is immediately removable by simple sliding along its axis once the front puddle (7) removed.
The pallets are immediately removable by simply sliding along their housing.
In the preferred embodiment of the invention:
  • the areas of the recesses (14) and those of the solid parts of the rotor (2) are the same;
  • the inlet and outlet orifices (5,6) have dimensions and a position such that the solid parts of the rotor (2) seal them alternately;
  • the outlet orifice (6) is positioned in such a way that the start of its opening, when the rotor moves, coincides with the start of the closing of the lower pallet so that there is no compression of the product to be conveyed inside the pump body;
  • the shearing effect is exclusively ensured by the leading edges of the recesses of the rotor and the trailing edges of the outlet orifice at the time of obturation, which makes it possible, in the event of pumping of fibrous products, such as meat, to cut off the parts of material straddling the interior of the pump and the corresponding orifices.
Plating the vanes against the stator bore is achieved by the combined action of centrifugal force and the back pressure exerted by the compressed material located in the recesses of the rotor.
Such a configuration allows manual disassembly, without any tools, simple and quick of the rotor and the vanes.
This advantage is extremely important in the food industry where daily disassembly is necessary for cleaning and disinfection. The pump according to the invention can for example be made of food-grade stainless steel. The speed of rotation, which is of the order of 100 revolutions per minute for this type of application, could be much greater and use ceramic-based materials for the friction parts.

  • les formes et les dimensions des divers sous-ensembles de la pompe;
Of course, the invention is not limited to the embodiments described and shown for which other variants can be provided mainly in:
  • the shapes and dimensions of the various pump sub-assemblies;
  • the number of pallets and entry and exit ports thereof.
