Description

The present invention relates to an electric heating device, preferably a stationary station comprising a main frame in which is mounted on the one hand at least one heating element including a resistive circuit, said element being associated with a support plate integral with the frame, and on the other hand at least one radiation plate forming the front of the device, said plate being integral with the frame and mounted at a distance from the heating element.

Electric heating devices of the type mentioned above can be considered to simultaneously provide both natural convection and radiation heating from the radiation plate located at the front of the device. Such a type of device is well known and generally consists of a metal frame including at least the rear face of the device which is intended to be fixed to a fixed post on a residential wall for example. The heating element is constituted in a manner known per se by an enamelled sheet plate on which is printed a resistive track. The front face of the device generally consists of an attached grid, at a distance from the enamelled sheet, on the lateral faces of the frame. Such devices use high-temperature resistive elements of the order of 350 ° C at the level of the resistive track, and in all cases greater than 300 ° C. To be able to satisfy the various normative constraints imposed on this type of 'device, and in particular to avoid exceeding a limit temperature value of the order of 80 to 100 ° C at the grid forming the front panel, it is necessary to create internally to the frame a natural convection. This can only be obtained by leaving a sufficient distance between the enamelled sheet and the panel. before. A first drawback of this type of appliance is therefore, in addition to the need to have recourse to resistive elements of high price, the production of wall-type heating appliance, having a relatively high thickness of the order of at least minus 70 mm. It should also be noted that the use of resistive elements obtained by resistive tracks printed on enamel does not provide the necessary safety guarantees in terms of electrical insulation. The large thickness of such devices is obviously perceived negatively by the user due to the resulting bulk.

It has already been proposed in an attempt to solve the problem of the significant heating of the external grid of the devices described above, to replace the latter with a material of lower thermal effusivity, for example based on glass. However, in order to maintain a substantially equivalent heating power, it has proved necessary to include in this same glass plate an additional screen-printed resistive element. In addition, it is worth noting that the use of a glass plate provided with an additional resistance appreciably increases the overall cost of such devices.

It is also known, through document FR-A-2172761, to produce an electric heating device comprising a main frame in which is mounted, on the one hand, a heating element including a resistive circuit, said heating element being embedded in a layer of cement, integral with the frame and provided with a heat sink element, and on the other hand, a panel forming a facade of the device integral with the frame and mounted at a distance from the heating element, the element heat sink being partially embedded in the cement layer.

The object of the present invention therefore aims to remedy the various problems mentioned above, and to propose a new type of electric heating device making it possible to provide a power of heating equivalent to traditional devices using low temperature heating elements, while being compact, and in particular of reduced thickness.

Another object of the invention is to provide an electric heating device in which the electrical insulation of the heating elements is improved.

An additional object of the invention is to provide an electric heating device favoring the radiant heating at the expense of convection heating.

The objects assigned to the invention are achieved using an electric heating device comprising a main frame in which is mounted on the one hand at least one heating element including a resistive circuit said element being associated with an integral support plate of the frame, and provided with a heat dissipating element, and on the other hand at least one radiation plate forming a facade of the device integral with the frame and mounted at a distance from the heating element characterized in that the heating element consists of a flat low-temperature heating element with a sandwich structure, said structure being electrically insulated, preferably on its two faces by insulating films and bonded by one face to one side of the support plate, the other side of the plate being provided with the heat sink element.

Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent and will emerge in more detail from the description given below, with reference to the appended drawings given by way of illustrative and nonlimiting examples in which:
  • Figure 1 shows a perspective view of an electric heater according to the invention.
  • FIG. 2 represents, in a partial cross-sectional view, an electric heating device according to the invention and corresponding to the variant shown in FIG. 1.
  • Figure 3 shows in a partial cross-sectional view another alternative embodiment of an electric heating device according to the invention.

The electric heater according to the invention shown in Figure 1 comprises a main frame 1, for example metallic, intended to form the general framework of the device. In the preferred version of the invention as shown in Figures 1 to 3, the heating device according to the invention is a stationary device intended for example to be fixed on or against a residential wall. To this end, the frame 1 comprises a rear panel 2 by which the device can be fixed to a partition. Advantageously, the frame 1 is of substantially rectangular shape and is provided with a peripheral border defining two lateral borders 3, an upper border 4 and a lower border 5.

According to a first characteristic of the invention, the heating device is provided with a low temperature heating element 10. Under the term "low temperature heating element" should be understood in the technical field considered, heating elements including resisitive elements whose heating temperature is not higher than 300 ° C and preferably does not exceed 250 ° C , the ideal heating range being of the order of 210 to 222 ° C. In the context of the invention, the heating element 10 is a flat heating element with a sandwich structure of the type described in French patent application No. FR-A-2686761 or in the corresponding European patent application EP-A -0555159, the descriptions of which are here considered to be incorporated into the text of this request. The heating element 10 preferably used in the context of the present invention therefore comprises a resistive track 11 forming for example a series of loops and coils, inserted in a layer of thermoplastic material such as PFA. The planar structure thus produced is electrically insulated on its two faces by two insulating films such as polyimide. In the alternative embodiment shown in Figures 1 and 2, the flat heating element 10 is bonded by one face to a support plate 15 secured to the frame 1. In the example shown in Figures 1 and 2 the heating element 10 is bonded for example using a layer of thermoplastic material such as PFA, on the side 15a of the support plate 15 which is located opposite a radiating panel 17 forming the front face of the device. The radiating panel 17 extends substantially in the vicinity of the borders 3, 4, 5 so as to leave a reduced peripheral space 18 between the borders 3, 4, 5 and the radiating panel 17. The peripheral space 18 is used for creation a natural flow of convection heating. The radiating panel 17 is integral with the rear panel 2 by means of a series of fixing lugs 19, said radiating panel 17 being mounted at a distance from the heating element 10. The mounting distance must be as small as possible. so as to minimize the total thickness of the device, but must also be sufficient taking into account the material constituting the radiating panel 17, so that the latter is not likely to exceed the limit values of surface temperature imposed by the standards . Preferably, the radiating panel 17 is glass-based, and the distance between the panel 17 and the extension plane of the heating element 10 will be of the order of 12 mm. The radiating panel can also be a metal plate, preferably provided with perforations.

The purpose of the heat sink element 20 is to induce air circulation making it possible to prevent an excessive rise in temperature of the heating element which can lead to its self-destruction. Advantageously, the heat sink element 20 serves both as a spacer between the rear panel 2 and the support plate 15 and as a means of fixing said plate 15 to the rear panel 2. In this particular configuration, the heat sink element 20 is fixed, for example by bolting on the rear panel 2 and also by any appropriate means on the support plate 15.

Dans cette configuration, l'élément chauffant 10 est disposé dans la partie inférieure de la plaque support 15.Advantageously, the heating element 10 extends over a surface less than the surface of the radiation panel 17, and represents for example one third of the surface of the radiating panel 17. In this configuration, the heating element 10 is arranged in the lower part of the support plate 15.

In the alternative embodiment shown in FIG. 3, the heating element 10 is glued to the side of the support plate 15 which is located opposite the rear panel 2 of the device. In this configuration, the heat sink element 20 extends between the support plate 15 and the radiation panel 17 '. According to a particularly advantageous construction configuration, the heat sink element 20 is fixed by any appropriate means to the support plate 15 and has an overall width less than the distance between the support plate 15 and the radiating panel 17 'so that the corrugations 21 stop at a distance from the surface of the radiating panel 17 '. According to this alternative embodiment, the presence of the heat sink element 20 facing the front radiating panel 17 'allows, by creating a natural convection on the front part of the device, to reduce the temperature of the radiating panel 17' . The latter is advantageously constituted by a metal plate, full, or provided with perforations.

The electric heating device according to the invention therefore makes it possible, using low temperature heating elements mounted in combination with a heat sink element 20, to produce a mixed heating device, by convection and radiation, ensuring performance. heating equivalent to devices using high temperature heating elements. In addition, the use of low temperature heating elements makes it possible to reduce the total thickness of the heating appliance without reducing the heating performance or reducing the overall lifetime of the appliance. The overall thickness of the heater according to the invention is less than 50 mm and preferably between 40 and 45 mm. It should also be noted that the use of low temperature heating elements, as well as the simplified overall arrangement of the device ultimately leads to obtaining a device of reduced cost. Finally, the use of low temperature heating elements makes it possible to reduce the differences in expansion between the parts of the apparatus and consequently to greatly or completely reduce the sound clicks characteristic of expansions.
