Abstract

A manually operated device for cutting strips from a floor covering, especially a carpet strip cutter, is shown and described, having a knife (1) which is supported by a guide rod (5) and having a cutting stop (2) to which the guide rod (5) is fastened in a longitudinally adjustable fashion and which engages beneath the floor covering by means of a lower limb (3). Description

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Schneiden von Streifen aus einem Bodenbelag, insbesondere einen Teppichleistenschneider, mit einem von einer Führungsstange getragenen Messer und mit einem Schneidanschlag, an dem die Führungsstange längseinstellbar befestigt ist und der mit einem unteren Schenkel den Bodenbelag untergreift.The invention relates to a device for cutting strips from a floor covering, in particular a carpet strip cutter, with a knife carried by a guide rod and with a cutting stop to which the guide rod is fastened in an adjustable manner and which engages under the floor covering with a lower leg.

Bei einer derartigen, durch das DE-GM 81 33 641 bekannten Schneidvorrichtung untergreift der untere Schenkel der Schneidanlage den Bodenbelag nur um ein im Vergleich zur üblicherweise verlangten Schneidbreite von Teppichleisten geringes Maß und wird von der das Messer tragenden Führungsstange weit überragt. Da das Schneiden von Teppichleisten oder dgl. im allgemeinen auf dem Fußboden durchgeführt wird, besteht die Gefahr, daß die Klinge durch Auftreffen auf den Estrich rasch stumpf wird oder daß die Klinge in einen zuvor verlegten Bodenbelag einschneidet und diesen beschädigt. Um dieser Gefahr zu begegnen, ist bei der bekannten Schneidvorrichtung die Klinge in einem mit einem Gteitfuß versehenen Schneidrahmen eingespannt und wird der Gleitfuß unter dem zu schneidenden Bodenbelag vorgeschoben. Ausgehend von einer Schneidvorrichtung der eingangs genannten Art, ist die Lösung dieser Aufgabe erfindungsgemäß dadurch erreicht, daß der untere Schenkel des Schneidanschlages eine Länge gleich der maximal einstellbaren Schneidbreite aufweist und daß das Messer, bis Auftreffen seiner Klinge auf den unteren Schenkel, niederschwenkbar ist. Infolge dieser Maßnahmen ist die Klinge gegen ein Auftreffen auf den Untergrund geschützt und ist eine Beschädigung des Untergrundes sicher ausgeschlossen. Claims
