Definitions
- the invention relates to a method for mixing liquids or for mixing solids into liquids in a mixing container with one or more stirrers arranged on a vertical shaft.
- the mixture obtained has non-Newtonian flow properties with decreasing viscosity with increasing shear rate and in particular approximately the properties of a BingharnMech.
- pastes with such flow properties are the so-called detergent slurries which, after the mixing of solids and liquids, are processed into high-pressure nozzles in a spray dryer to form tower powder.
- the viscosities of such mixtures are very high and are up to 30,000 mPas. Due to the non-Newtonian flow properties, the indication of the viscosity is only to be understood as a rough guide. The mixture does not appear to be stationary to be flowable, but the viscosity increases with increasing
- MIG and inclined blade stirrers require less inspection tion and maintenance costs.
- the Ml ⁇ stirrer sprays very heavily in the pass-through mode.
- Significant wall approaches are the result.
- the slow-running inclined blade stirrer does not splash, but its mixing effect is unsatisfactory and the agitator blades are covered with caking.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of developing a method of the type mentioned at the outset which, on the one hand, solves the problems mentioned above, which are associated with the flow properties of the mixture obtained and does not lead to caking, but on the other hand does not result in the high outlay on maintenance as required with the Crutcher stirrer.
- a sufficiently high stirring power for generating an axial flow with a Tro be introduced into the mix and the downward axial flow with a further stirring element with downward conveying, enclosed by a guide ring with a ground-level stirring element Stirring blades reinforced, which extend radially only in the region of the downward flow generated by the ground-level stirring element.
- the high stirring power in conjunction with the floor-mounted stirring element ensures that, especially in the case of Bingham liquids, not only does a mixing effect occur in the vicinity of the stirring elements, but the entire mixture is moved.
- the further stirring element with the stirring blades conveying downwards strengthens the axial mixing and avoids an uneven mass distribution of the container contents.
- the bearings of the agitator shaft are therefore stressed much less.
- the guide ring around the additional stirring element also prevents the splashing of liquids in continuous operation.
- the stirring power related to the mix be at least about 4 kW / m3.
- the axial circulation and the mixing in the edge area is improved in that the bottom-agitating agitating member has vanes that convey upwards on its circumference.
- the arms of the base-type agitator consist essentially of rectangular tube with sharp edges.
- the high local shear forces generated in this way break up agglomerates and lumps in the mix. The result is a more even mass distribution and thus less stress on the agitator shaft bearings.
- the further stirring element is designed as an inclined blade stirrer, in particular as a trapezoidal stirrer. It is further preferred that the bottom agitator has two arms and the other agitator has four arms.
- the mixing container is equipped with essentially vertical baffles. It is preferred that the flow breakers are arranged at an angle of up to 15 ° to the vertical in the vicinity of the wall in accordance with the direction of flow of the mixed material. In this way, dead spaces in the flow shadow of the flow breakers are avoided.
- the longitudinal section of the crutcher agitator shown in FIG. 1 essentially consists of a mixing container 1 and a vertical agitator shaft 2 arranged therein.
- the agitator shaft 2 (speed about 100 min " 1 ) driven by a motor 3 carries agitators a floor clearer 4 and a vertical screw 5 arranged above it with guide tube 6.
- Solids and liquids are introduced into the mixing container 1 through the inlets 7 and 8 and move during the mixing process in the direction of the arrows 9.
- the agitator delivers a good mixing result, but the bottom bearing 10 of the agitator shaft 2 and the vertical screw 5 and the floor clearer 4 are exposed to heavy loads, which lead to increased maintenance.
- FIG. 2 An exemplary embodiment of an agitator according to the invention is shown in FIG. 2.
- the same reference numbers denote the same parts.
- the agitator shaft 2 carries a four-arm inclined blade stirrer 11 with a guide ring 12.
- the floor space 4 drives the mix 13 outwards in the direction of the container wall and from up there, so that the surface 14 of the mixture 13 forms a trumpet.
- the radial extension of the inclined blade stirrer is selected so that the trapezoidal stirrer blade ter 15, which are inclined to the downward conveyance of the mix 13, * increase this movement of the mix without the upward flow along the container wall being disturbed.
- Baffles 16 are also attached to the wall of the mixing container 1. They are arranged obliquely at an angle to the vertical in accordance with the flow direction of the mixed material running near the wall, so that there are no dead spaces in the flow shadow of the flow breakers in which mixed material could accumulate.
- two upward conveying wings 21 were placed on the circumference. This measure improved the axial circulation and the mixing in the edge area.
- FIG. 3 shows a longitudinal section of a five-stage MIG stirrer (multi-stage impulse countercurrent stirrer) with a bottom clearer 4 and baffles 16.
- the agitator shaft 2 carries five four-armed trapezoidal stirrers.
- Each half of the mixing arm consists of two blades, which are arranged differently, which results in an improvement in the axial flow velocity when mixing Newtonian liquids.
- caking 18 occurs on the outer stirring blades 19 and the flow breakers 16 after a short time. As a result, the impellers lose their flow-giving shape.
- the liquid was added in two steps.
- Steps 1 to 4 take approximately 4 to 5 minutes.
- the batch size was 2800 to 3000 kg corresponding to a container filling of 4800 to 5000 kg.
- the remaining stock of 1500 to 3000 kg slurry was varied in the tests.
- the flow pattern and mixing quality were not significantly influenced by this.
- the agitator shown in FIG. 5 has two 4-blade inclined-blade agitators 11 with guide ring 12 and a trapezoidal agitator 17 as the bottom element.
- the same reference numbers designate the same parts.
- a floor scraper 4 was installed instead of the trapezoidal stirrer in order to improve the mixing action in the lower part of the container 1 (FIG. 6).
- the floor clearer 4 was constructed from an elliptical tubular profile.
