Abstract

PCT No. PCT/EP93/01024 Sec. 371 Date Dec. 9, 1993 Sec. 102(e) Date Dec. 9, 1993 PCT Filed Apr. 28, 1993 PCT Pub. No. WO94/01010 PCT Pub. Date Jan. 20, 1994.A bathing wear is made of a net-like knitted fabric printed with contrasting bright colors, composed of 73% nylon and 27% of a polyurethane elastomer. The knitted fabric has a multiplicity of hexagonal mesh openings, which are aligned in rows in three directions. This bathing wear allows about two-thirds of the incident UV radiation of the sun to pass and thus gives rise to full body tanning, without being transparent however even when wet. In addition, the bathing wear is quick-drying and fits the body elastically.

Description

Description: Sun-permeable fabric and swimwear and sun protection clothing made from it.
B e s c h r e i b u n gDescription
The invention relates to a sun-permeable fabric, in particular for swimwear or sun protection clothing, which consists of a tulle-like knitted fabric with mesh openings, which is printed with contrasting fluorescent colors and is therefore opaque when applied to the skin.
Such a substance and a bathing clothing made from it are already known. A corresponding swimsuit or bikini has the advantage that the parts of the body covered with it also tan in the sun, even though they are covered and not visible, as in conventional swimwear. This swimwear therefore enables essentially seamless tanning in sunny weather without the need for nude bathing or the need to go to a designated beach or suitable area.
This is essentially only suitable for pure sunbathing and not also for
Schwimmen. Swim. If this swimwear gets wet, the opacity is no longer fully guaranteed. The wet swimwear also dries comparatively poorly, which reduces comfort or necessitates a change of clothing. In addition, the adaptability to the body and the related seat leave something to be desired, especially after multiple wear or longer life. Accordingly, the object of the invention is to improve the material described at the outset in such a way that the clothing produced therefrom combines optimal tanning properties and a covering effect which is not reduced by wetness, with increased sitting and wearing comfort.
This object is achieved according to the invention in that the knitted fabric consists of polyamide fibers and a polyurethane elastomer and has a honeycomb-like structure with rows of mesh openings which extend in at least three mutually angular directions.
Appropriate refinements and developments of this invention result from the subclaims.
Das führt zu einer erhöhten Anpassungsfähigkeit an dieThe material of the knitted fabric and its honeycomb structure make the fabric according to the invention very elastic and stretchable, in at least three or even four directions. This leads to an increased adaptability to the
Body shape, the polygonal (hexagonal) mesh openings widening accordingly when worn so that the sun's rays and thus the UV rays leading to tanning of the skin can penetrate well. Nevertheless, the knitted fabric lying on the body remains opaque due to the printing with contrasting fluorescent colors, even when the knitted fabric is wet. In addition, the wet fabric dries particularly quickly, for which not only the fibers used but also the loose structure of the correspondingly light knitted fabric is responsible. Appropriate swimwear is therefore suitable for both sunbathing and swimming.
Tests with a hexagonal mesh openings of uniform size made of 73% nylon and 27% Lycra in thread thicknesses of 40 denier or 280 denier with a weight per unit area of 160 g / m 2 have shown that the knitted fabric approx. 65% of the UV rays let through the sun or, in other words, block about 1/3 of UV rays from the body. This roughly corresponds to the use of a sunscreen with a sun protection factor of 10 on the bare skin. Accordingly, the fabric according to the invention is particularly recommended not only for swimwear but also wherever the skin is advantageous protection against excessive solar radiation without the use of sun creams which are based on fat or oil is to be protected, but a tanning effect is definitely desirable. Numerous different types of clothing come into consideration as such light protection clothing, for example T-shirts, leggings, cycling pants and Capri pants. As can be seen, a contrast-colored printing can be dispensed with, at least in places.
Darin zeigen:Exemplary embodiments of the invention are explained in more detail below with the aid of a schematic drawing. In it show:

As indicated by dashed lines, the leg openings, the neck opening and the arm openings are provided in a known manner with an elastic hem 4 using an overlock seam.
9 vorgese- hen.FIG. 2 shows a bikini 5 with bikini bottoms 6 and a top 7. Elastic hems 8 and 9 are also provided here.
Both the swimsuit 1 and the bikini 5 are designed and processed in the usual way. The peculiarity lies only in the fabric used for the production, from which the specific advantages in use result. FIG. 3 shows an enlarged detail of this fabric 10, which is a knitted fabric 11 with printing 12. The structure of the knitted fabric 11 can be seen in FIG. 3 in the area of light-colored printing, since the fabric 10 is shown in front of a dark background. It is a tulle-like knitted fabric 11, which is made from a two-ply yarn 13 and has a multiplicity of stitch openings 14 closely adjacent to one another. In the illustration in FIG. 3, the fabric 10 is under slight tensile stresses, depending on the state of wear, whereby the mesh openings 14 are partially opened to different degrees and the rows of mesh openings do not clearly emerge everywhere. However, it can be seen that the mesh openings 14 have a hexagonal shape and are each arranged in three mesh rows of staggered angles.
This fact is shown more clearly in FIG. 4. This basic representation, which is underlaid with a dot matrix, makes it clear that the mesh openings 14 of the machine-made knitted fabric 11 are not exactly regular hexagons, because the two horizontally running edges are somewhat shorter than the four other edges. It can be clearly seen that each mesh opening 14 belongs to three rows of mesh openings 15, 16 and 17 which extend in three directions a, b, c offset with respect to one another. Adjacent mesh openings 14 of a row each have a common narrow edge boundary formed by the yarn 13.
The yarn 13 used to manufacture the tulle-like knitted fabric 11 has - not shown in the figures - a thicker nylon thread with a thickness of approx. 40 denier and a thinner thread with a thickness of approx. 280 denier made of a polyurethane elastomer (Lycra) on. This corresponds to a yarn composition of 73% nylon and 27% Lycra. The specific weight of the fabric 11 is 160 g / m 2 *. The clear mesh size is approximately 0.5 mm when not expanded by carrying.
Due to the structure of the knitted fabric 11, the yarn components used and special equipment, the fabric 10 is very elastic and stretchable in several directions. The guaranteed tiert a permanent good fit of the swimwear 1 and 5 and widening or changes in the mesh openings 14 when wearing or by body movement. In the sun, the body experiences an essentially full-surface radiation with approx. 65% of the incident UV rays. In the area of the hems 4 and 8, 9, the tanning effect can be improved by moving the hem slightly on the skin from time to time.
Auch in diesem Fall ergibt sich ein in vier Rich¬ tungen elastischer und dehnfähiger Stoff mit guten Bräunungsei¬ genschaften.FIG. 5 illustrates that a knitted fabric 18 with different stitch openings 19 and 20 can also be used, namely octagonal larger stitch openings 19 and square smaller stitch openings 20, the larger stitch openings 19 being arranged in four stitch opening rows 21 to 24, which extend in four directions d, e, f, g, which are at 45 ° to each other - i.e. with an even angular offset. In this case too, there is a fabric which is elastic and stretchable in four directions and has good browning properties.
The printing 12 is done with contrasting fluorescent colors. For example, six (possibly more) different fluorescent colors 25 to 30 are used, which contrast with each other. As can be seen in FIG. 3, the print design provides comparatively small areas of the same color, so that not only an intensive but also a strongly changing color scheme prevails. This gives the human eye the impression that the fabric 10 lying on the skin and accordingly not illuminated is not a tulle with a large proportion of openings, but a dense fabric.
