Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a hinged wedging element for use on a workbench, machine table, vacuum table or the like.
Currently we already know machines for machining, wood ripping or other equipped with vacuum tables. These tables are grooved at a predetermined pitch and a rubber seal introduced into the grooves of the table makes it possible to delimit an area on which a part is held by vacuum through holes in the table cf. for example US-A-3,652,075. The major drawback of the device is that it does not make it possible to raise the part, therefore certain types of work are not possible, such as for example drilling the part.
A sealing system in the form of a grid or a grid is also known, described in document DE-2,258,007. It is made of rubber and undergoes compression during the suction of the part. This device therefore does not allow the precise raising of a part to a predetermined level, certain types of work are therefore not allowed. In addition, it is neither articulated nor adaptable to the shape of a part.
Furthermore, it is known to raise the part while ensuring sealing, by means of templates.
But these templates require labor for their production and installation, so they are expensive. In addition, a template corresponds to a fixed part profile and it is necessary to produce a template for each new type of part, which results in significant production and material costs and a storage problem.
The object of the invention is to overcome all the drawbacks of the prior art.
Its application is not limited to grooved vacuum tables. It can also be used on a smooth table.
More particularly the invention consists of an element of articulated wedging for use on a workbench, machine table, vacuum table or the like, characterized in that it is composed of a flexible joint comprising, for raising a piece to a predetermined height H, rigid raising elements distributed over the length of the joint and separated from each other by functional clearances allowing the wedging element to be bent.
These enhancement elements are not limited to studs arranged in two symmetrically on either side of the flexible joint, two consecutive studs being separated by a functional gap.
These studs have, without limitation, a section in an isosceles right triangle with an upper groove and a lower extension, the flexible joint of which protrudes.

- FIG. 1 : top view of the articulated joint according to the invention,
- FIG. 2 : view in vertical section of the articulated joint according to the invention,
- Figure 3 : top view of an example of use of the invention,
- Figure 4 : vertical section view of Figure 3.
The articulated joint (1) is composed of a flexible joint (2), for example made of foam, on the flanks of which identical studs (3) are bonded, symmetrically arranged with respect to the foam joint (2).
- each stud (3) has a horizontal section in an isosceles right triangle whose top at 90 ° is cut and whose hypotenuse is glued to the foam joint (2). The height (H) of the stud corresponds to the height whose part is to be raised.
- the face (4) of the stud (3) applied against the joint has in its upper part a longitudinal groove (5) allowing the head of the joint to be crushed by the part.
- this face also has a longitudinal extension (6) intended to enter a groove in the table.
Over the entire length of the foam seal (2), the pads are arranged in groups of two face to face. Two groups of studs are separated from each other by a functional interval (7) calculated to allow the articulated joint (1) to be bent.
To use the joint according to the invention, for example on a grooved table, the vacuum zone is defined, chosen according to the shape of the part, by introducing it by its extensions (6) in the grooves of the table. The bases (8) are supported on the upper planes of the table. The lower projecting part (9) is crushed at the bottom of the groove for the lower seal.
Les prolongements (6) réalisent le blocage. The extensions (6) achieve blocking.
The upper projecting part (10) will be crushed by the part for the upper seal. In an angle such as (11), two lateral faces of two successive studs are supported one on the other thanks to their inclination at 45 ° relative to the foam seal (2).
Only one end closes the zone and the surplus (up to the second end) is placed inside the zone.
- raise a part by a height (H) corresponding to the stud field,
- raise a part of the desired height by choosing an articulated joint of appropriate height,
- delimit the vacuum zone on demand,
- adapt the vacuum zone to any room profile.
It will be noted that other forms of studs are possible, for example studs or semicircles separated by a sufficient functional gap so that two consecutive studs of an elbow (11) are in contact with one another.
Selon l'application prévue les rainures (5), prolongement (6) parties dépassantes (9) (10) peuvent être supprimés et les éléments de rehausse ou plots (3) peuvent être disposés sur une seule des deux faces latérales du joint (2).Depending on the intended application, the grooves (5), extension (6) protruding parts (9) (10) can be eliminated and the elements for raising or studs (3) can be arranged on only one of the two lateral faces of the joint (2 ).
As an example of use on a smooth table, reference is made to FIGS. 3 and 4. The height of the joint (2) is substantially that of the raising elements (H) of a part. The articulated joint is given the shape adapted to that of the part, the surplus (12) not equipped with studs ensuring the tightness on the first stud. This variant can be used on a smooth metallic or magnetic table in combination with magnetic or metallic studs.
In both cases, magnetism is used to hold the seal in place between two changes of parts and to prevent the closed area from shrinking under the effect of a vacuum supplied by the suction mouth (13).
