Description

The invention relates to a signal cup for signaling weapons with a cup receptacle that is axially open in the firing direction for inserting signal stars, pyrotechnic products or the like. which is connected to the cup receptacle by a reducing bore in the bottom of the cup receptacle and has at least one lateral opening to the outside in the chamber wall.

Such signal cups are known from practice. With them, the chamber is formed by a transverse bore in the solid wall between the cup base and the cup holder, so that two diametrically opposed to each other there are opposing lateral openings which serve to reduce the pressure in the chamber of the shot gases generated when the firing cartridge is ignited. The shot gases therefore flow out of the side openings at an appropriate temperature and speed, which, if the signal weapon is handled carelessly, can result in the escaping gas jet hitting the shooter, especially his face, and injuring him.

The invention has for its object to develop a signal cup of the type mentioned so that the shooter can no longer accidentally expose the emerging shot gases.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that a flow guide wall is connected to the cup base, which deflects the shot gases flowing out of the lateral opening in the shot direction to the front.

In the signal cup according to the invention, the shot gases can no longer flow laterally, that is to say transversely to the shot direction. Rather, they are deflected forward in the firing direction by the flow guide wall and can therefore no longer hit the shooter.

A preferred embodiment is characterized in that the flow guide wall is formed by a second cup which envelops the wall of the chamber and the cup receptacle at a clear distance and forms an annular outlet opening at the end facing away from the cup base. In this embodiment, large flow cross sections for the axial outflow of the Shot gases reached. The second cup can also be easily connected gas-tight to the cup base. It is also advantageous if the axial outlet opening of the second cup lies in the same plane as the axial opening of the cup holder of the signal cup. Then the shot gases are led optimally far from the second cup. The second cup, in turn, cannot be used for inserting signal bodies or the like, as could be the case if the mouth of the second cup would protrude axially beyond the mouth of the signal cup.

In the following the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing; the only figure shows an axial section through a signal cup according to the invention.

The signal cup is used to hold signal stars or pyrotechnic products, not shown. It has a cup base 2 which can be placed on a muzzle, not shown, of a signal weapon, also not shown. For this purpose, the cup base 2 can have an external thread and can be screwed into an internal thread in the muzzle of the signal weapon. An axial bore 3 is provided in the cup base 2, which opens into a chamber 4. The chamber 4 is separated by a bottom 6 provided with a reducing bore 5 from a cup receptacle 7 facing away from the cup base 2 and provided with an axial mouth 13 in the firing direction. The axial bore 3 and the reducing bore 5 are coaxial in the extension of the axis of the gun barrel. The shot gases produced when the firing cartridge is ignited can pass through the axial bore 3 of the cup base 2 into the Enter chamber 4 and fire the pyrotechnic products or signal stars through the hole 5 out of the cup holder 7. The side walls 8 of the chamber 4 have two side openings 9 which are overlapped by a flow guide wall 10. This flow guide wall 10 pointing forwards in the weft direction 1 is sealed gas-tight towards the cup base 2, but is open towards the front in the weft direction 1. In the embodiment shown, the signal cup is entirely encompassed by the flow guide wall 10, in that the signal cup is arranged in a second cup 11 enveloping the chamber 4 and the receptacle 7 and the second cup 11 has an annular outlet opening on the side facing away from the cup base 2 12 has. This outlet opening 12 lies in the same plane as the axial opening 13 of the signal cup.
