Abstract

A device for cleaning grains (1) present essentially in the form of granules and containing particles of varying size, to remove said particles, has a housing (5) which has on its top side an inlet (11) for the grains (1) and on its underside and outlet (12) for the cleaned granules (18) and possesses a distributing plate (whizzer) (6). Cleaning gas flows through the granules falling through the device, opposite to the direction of movement of said granules. In the inlet region there is provided a guide device (19) for the inflowing grains (1) and a retaining device (2) for the larger particles (3). The distributing plate (6) is provided with a cover cowl (16) which has an opening (17) for the inlflowing grains. Between the distributing plate (6) and cover cowl (16), a gap (8) is provided which preferably has a height of approx. 8 to 15 mm. <IMAGE>
