Claims (11)

  1. Top-loading drum-type washing machine, comprising a tub to the end faces of which ballast material (10) is secured and in the interior of which a washing and spin-drying drum (1) is arranged, characterised in that the washing and spin-drying drum (1) tapers from its outer region towards its centre of rotation and that the tub end walls (4) are narrower towards the centre of rotation than in their outer region.
  2. Drum-type washing machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the drum side walls (2) have flat, frustoconical recesses (3).
  3. Drum-type washing machine according to claim 1 or claim 2, characterised in that the washing and spin-drying drum (1) tapers in an at least approximately uniform manner from its outer region towards its centre of rotation.
  4. Drum-type washing machine according to claim 1, characterised in that the tub end walls (4) are pulled inwards or dip in such a manner that the lines of force spacing between the bearing elements (5) of the washing and spin-drying drum (1) is smaller than the maximum drum width (7).
  5. Drum-type washing machine according to claim 1 or claim 4, characterised in that stiffening ribs (6) arranged on the exterior of the tub end walls (4) are pulled inwards towards the centre of rotation.
  6. Drum-type washing machine according to claim 5, characterised in that the stiffening ribs (6) of the tub end walls (4) extend inwards in a frustoconical manner like the drum side walls (2).
  7. Drum-type washing machine according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that, in the washing and spin-drying drum (1), a region of the drum side walls (2) extending in a rectilinear or perpendicular manner to the axis of rotation is adjacent to the frustoconical recesses (3) in the direction of the circumferential wall.
  8. Drum-type washing machine according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterised in that the tub consists of plastic.
  9. Drum-type washing machine according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the width of the drum centre (8) corresponds to approximately 5/6 to 4/5 of the maximum drum width (7).
  10. Drum-type washing machine according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterised in that the angle of the frustoconical recesses (3) is 150 to 160°.
  11. Drum-type washing machine according to one of claims 1 to 10, characterised in that the outer diameter (11) of the frustoconical recesses (3) is approximately 3/4 to 4/5 of the drum diameter.
