Le connecteur comporte essentiellement trois pièces, à savoir :

  • la cosse (1) qui assure la liaison électrique proprement dite,
  • la clé de fermeture (2) qui permet de bloquer ou de débloquer le connecteur de la borne de batterie,
  • un capot (3) qui assure l'isolation de l'ensemble connecteur-borne.

Claims (8)

  1. Connector for a battery terminal of the type permitting the connection of each of the terminals of said battery to the power circuit and comprising a means for rapidly locking and unlocking said connector on the appropriate terminal, the connector substantially comprising a spade terminal (1) having two half-shells (6, 7) suitable for being displaced radially in a resilient manner to grip the terminal by means of a closure key (2) pivotally mounted on said spade terminal, characterised in that the two half-shells (6, 7) each comprise externally an inclined portion (8), each inclined portion being acted upon when the key is rotated.
  2. Connector according to claim 1, characterised in that the half-shells are made rigid by a flange (17).
  3. Connector according to any of claims 1 to 2, characterised in that the contact surfaces comprise ridges.
  4. Connector according to any of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the key comprises a body (10) and a manoeuvring tongue (11), said key being pivotally connected on the spade terminal (1) by means of an axis (12) which is positioned in a housing (9) of the body (5) of the spade terminal in which it is held by a bolt flap (18).
  5. Connector according to any of claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the body (10) of the key comprises a frame (13), the two longitudinal edges (14, 15) of which act upon the inclined portions (8) when the key is rotated.
  6. Connector according to any of claims 1 to 5, characterised in that it comprises an insulation cover (3) which also ensures that the polarity is visually marked.
  7. Connector according to claim 6, characterised in that the cover (3) comprises an opening (16) for monitoring the voltage via a plug.
  8. Connector according to one of claims 6 and 7, characterised in that the end of the cover can pivot about a hinge (19).
