Description

The invention relates to single-part or multi-part cuboid packaging containers for stacked tape-shaped recording media, which are wound on cores provided with inner bores, consisting of a base part, a cover part and side parts which are connected to one another via molded film hinges and one through the inner bores of the winding cores Core support is slidable.

Worldwide, so-called raw winding units are sold in large quantities by the magnetic tape factories. In these, the magnetic tape is wound onto cores, for example flangeless winding cores, either the so-called NAB cores or stackable winding cores according to US Pat. No. 4,081,151 or other cores. These kernels, which are referred to as "pancakes", are currently either packaged individually or in collective containers and covered with a shrink film or held by various cardboard boxes.

The disadvantage of individual packaging is that a large part of packaging material has to be used.

Magnetic tape bulk packaging is described in publications US-A-3 543 922, US-A-4 708 246, US-A-4 955 471, EP-A-0 320 751, DE-U-89 00 709, DE-U -89 12 747 and DE-U-89 12 749 become known. These packages either consist of relatively voluminous styrofoam, which means a useless high transport volume and which has to be disposed of after unpacking the contents, or the packaging is held together by plastic pallets and sleeves, the sleeves being relatively complicated and partially the side parts of the packaged goods are insufficiently protected, since it is only covered by a film shrunk onto the packaging. Therefore, this packaging must also be placed in an outer carton for transport.

  • einfacher Aufbau
  • transport- und staubsichere Unterbringung der Pancakes
  • einfach zusammenzusetzen und auszupacken
  • geringes Volumen beim Rücktransport
  • wiederverwendbar
  • keine zusätzliche Außenverpackung erforderlich.
Pancake packaging which avoid the use of styrofoam and which are reusable or recyclable are described in DE-U-90 11 867 and in DE-A-40 25 906. However, these packaging containers require a variety of parts and sometimes offer insufficient protection of the contents during transport and against dust. Therefore, the task was to find a packaging for pancakes of the generic type mentioned above, which simultaneously meets the following conditions:
  • Limitation of the proportion of packaging materials to be discarded to the lowest possible extent
  • easy construction
  • transport and dustproof storage of the pancakes
  • easy to assemble and unpack
  • low volume for return transport
  • reusable
  • no additional outer packaging required.

According to the invention the object was achieved with a packaging with the features defined by independent claims 1 and 2. Further embodiments of the invention emerge from the subclaims, the drawings and the description.

In a suitable form, the packaging container is made in one piece and, as shown in FIG. 1, consists of a flat part, the base part (1), cover part (2) and the four side parts (19) being held together by so-called film hinges (24), foldable connecting straps will. The parts can be angled so that a cuboid-shaped container arises therefrom, as shown in FIG. A belt strap (not shown), which is placed around the circumferential recess (25) of the folded container, secures it for transport. In addition, the webbing can contain a handle, wherein the outside of the packaging can contain a recessed grip at the location of the handle. With the exception of this webbing, all parts of the new packaging can often be used and are suitable for return transport.

To open the container, the webbing, which consists of a material such as that used for securing pallets, is cut off. The cover part (2) is raised and the side parts (19) can be easily folded away. The packaged pancakes are thus freely accessible. The pancakes wound on winding cores (13) are stacked one on top of the other on a specially designed core support (11), which will be described in detail later. The core support has an integrated handle (14) with which you can easily lift the support with the pancakes out of the packaging and then bring them to the processing station, which is usually located in a clean room. The packaging itself does not generate dust, such as cardboard packaging, and could also be brought as a unit into a clean room. There are also recessed grips (21) on two opposite corners of the inside of the base part for lifting out the pancakes.

The flat-lying packaging can be conveniently and space-savingly stacked on a pallet with the help of integrated stacking aids and thus be prepared for return transport to the manufacturer. Due to the flat shape, without protruding corners and edges, the packaging can be cleaned easily and advantageously. Flow troughs make drying easier. All corners where cleaning fluid could jam are missing. A new packaging cycle can then begin, as already described.

The structure of the packaging is now described in detail. To ensure dust and moisture protection of the packaging contents, the container has sealing strips (18) on the exposed outer edges of the side parts or the base part or the cover part, which engage in complementarily shaped grooves (20) of the corresponding parts when folded up. These strips or grooves can be designed so that they can be snapped in by appropriate technical measures. However, there may also be corresponding residues in the hinge area of the base (1) and the side walls (19).

The core support (11) is connected in the packaging container to the base part and cover part (1, 2) in the collapsed state so that they cannot rotate. For this purpose, the bottom and lid parts each have depressions (3, 4) in their inner side in the geometric center, from which individual projections (5, 6, 7, 8) protrude. The end faces (9, 10) of the partially cylindrical core support are shaped in such a way that they can be inserted non-rotatably into the depressions in the base and cover parts.

Furthermore, as can be seen in FIG. 3, the core support has on its lower end face (10), which is assigned to the base part (1), a shoulder (12) on which the winding core (13) to be located with its inner bore lies can support the adjacent underside. At the top (9), the core support has a U-shaped handle (14), which in a preferred embodiment is provided with two locking positions. In the upper locking position, the handle is suitable for carrying the entire pancake stack and in the lower position, the handle is recessed in the core support for the purpose of transporting the closed packaging. For this purpose, the two legs (15, 16) of the handle can be inserted into recesses in the core support.

The two legs (15, 16) of the handle (14) expediently have locking lugs (not shown) which lock the handle in the extended and retracted state. If the containers are too heavy, the handle can also be made in one piece with the core support. In this case, gripping is possible through the recessed grip (17) provided under the handle.

For easy removal of individual pancakes, the core support has two opposing concave depressions (25, 26) in the shape of a circular section over its entire height.

A recessed label field (28), which additionally has recessed grips for removing or replacing a label, can be provided on one of the outer surfaces of the packaging.

Instead of the one-piece construction described, the container according to the invention can also be made in two or more parts, FIGS. 4 and 5 show two possible embodiments, in which either the bottom and lid parts are each connected with two side parts or the bottom part with four side parts on which the separate cover part is put on.

For the bulk transport of several packaging containers in the opened state, these are expediently provided with grooves (23) along the outer edges of their base or cover part, which engage in corresponding complementarily shaped strips (18) of the opened side parts (19) and thus enable a non-slip transport of several stacked containers . This is shown in FIG. 6. In addition, each container can be provided with a knob structure on the outer surfaces, as described, for example, in EP 0 217 254. In addition, the underside of the packaging container can be equipped with feet and recesses for better stacking on a pallet.

In Figur 7 ist dargestellt, wie zwei (oder mehrere) vollständig auseinandergeklappte Verpackungen zum Rücktransport übereinendergestapelt werden, wobei Vorsprünge (5) an der Innenseite des Bodenteils in entsprechende Vertiefungen der Außenseite eingreifen.FIG. 7 shows how two (or more) fully unfolded packages are stacked one above the other for return transport, with projections (5) on the inside of the base part engaging in corresponding recesses on the outside.

In the two-part form of the packaging, the cover part can be cranked to allow different packaging heights. In addition, the circumferential sealing strip can be designed asymmetrically in order to be able to form different packaging heights depending on the application.

The shape of the core support enables several core supports to be stacked on top of one another. It is expediently hollow so that it can be attached to an auxiliary mandrel in the manufacturing process.

In a preferred embodiment, the packaging container consists of hard plastic such as polypropylene or acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer. It is preferably double-walled, either by injection molding or by extrusion blow molding. As a result, the container also has excellent impact and climate protection.
