Beispielsweise könnten in Fig. 1 und 2 die Längen der oberen Hebelarme 14 bzw. die Lagen der Anlenkstellen 15 der Lenker 16 an den Hebelarmen 14 oder auch die Lagen der Lenker-Schwenkachsen 17 an den Oberzangenarmen 8 einstellbar sein. Claims (5)

  1. A nipper set for a combing machine, with a lower nipper formed by a nipper frame (5) and a lower-nipper plate (6) carried by said frame, with a top-nipper plate (7) carried by top-nipper arms (8) which are swivellably held in the nipper frame (5) and comprises a lower edge which cooperates with a front edge of the lower-nipper plate (6) for nipping a lap to be combed, and with a fibre supporting element (13) movably held in the lower nipper (5, 6), which element is movable towards a forward position when the nipper set is opened, characterized in that the fibre supporting element (13) is carried by swivelling arms (12) which are swivellably coupled with the nipper frame (5) about an axle (11) and coupled with the top-nipper arms (8) in such a way that they hold the fibre supporting element (13) in a retracted position over the lower-nipper plate (6) and that they swivel it in a forward position during the opening of the nipper set in which the fibre supporting element (13) extends upwardly with respect to the front edge of the lower-nipper plate (6).
  2. A nipper set as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that the fibre supporting element (13) is swivelled to a front position during the opening of the nipper set, in which the fibre supporting element (13) extends beyond the front edge of the lower-nipper plate (6) forwardly and upwardly.
  3. A nipper set as claimed in claim 1 or 2, characterized in that guiding elements (23) for guiding the lateral edges of the lap to be combed are provided on both lateral ends of the fibre supporting element (13), which guiding elements (23) are movable with the fibre supporting element (13).
  4. A nipper set as claimed in one of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the swivelling arms (12) are lever arms of two-arm levers (12, 14), whose other arms (14) are connected through guiding rods (16) with the top-nipper arms (8).
  5. A nipper set as claimed in one of the claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the swivelling arms (12) are lever arms of two-arm levers (12, 14), whose other arms (14) are coupled with the top-nipper arms (8) through journals (24) engaging in grooves (25).
