Description

The invention relates to a surface wiping device in which a compressible wiping body made of an absorbent material is attached to a device handle, the wiping body being assigned an expulsion means which can be actuated by a linkage, the wiping body being fixed on a curved adhesive surface surrounding an axis and the push-out means consisting of a push-out roller pivotable about the axis.

Such a surface mopping device is known from US-A-4,137,592. The ejection means consists of a roller that can be guided by a lever around the axis of a wiper body core. The squeezing roller is locked in its rest position by the elastically flexible wiper body. The axis of the push-out roller and the axis of the cylindrical adhesive surface are assigned to one another at a constant distance. It should be noted, however, that replacing the compressible wiper body requires a comparatively large amount of assembly work, which is unsatisfactory in terms of simple handling.

From US-A-2,073,726 a surface wiper is known, the wiper body is designed as a rotatable roller. The push-out roller is mounted in a holder, the holder having a support-shaped link in which the push-out roller is slidably mounted. To push out the wiping body, the push-out roller is moved in the direction of the wiping body until it engages in an undercut in the link. When the wiping body rolls off, it is guided past the ejection roller with elastic deformation. The compressible wiper body is replaced by removing its front receptacles. In terms of ease of use, this is little satisfactory.

From DE-GM 88 00 887 a surface wiper device is known in which a wiper body fixed to a holder is guided by actuating a linkage by two rollers, which cause the wiper body to be compressed and thus pressed out. It should be noted, however, that the previously known surface mopping device has a large number of individual parts and that the operating properties are unsatisfactory on the one hand due to the comparatively high weight and the uneven expression of the mopping body. The service life is greatly reduced by large mechanical loads on the wiping body and the resulting wear.

The invention has for its object to further develop a surface wiper of the type mentioned in such a way that, if necessary, a particularly simple and quick change of the wiper body is made possible.

This object is achieved with the characterizing features of claim 1. The subclaims refer to advantageous refinements.

In the surface wiping device according to the invention, it is provided that the adhesive surface forms a boundary surface of the holding part, which is releasably attached to a holder connected to the handle and that the holding part and the holder are snap-connected to one another. An exchange of the holding part with the used wiper body is particularly quick and easy, without having to replace the handle and the linkage required for operation. The detachable fixing of the holder on the handle of the device is of particular advantage in economic terms and in view of lower environmental pollution.

According to a further advantageous embodiment, it is provided that the holder and the handle are pivotally connected to one another by a joint are. Surfaces that are difficult to access, for example niches or surfaces to be wiped under furniture that is difficult to move, such as cupboards, can be easily cleaned due to the joint between the holder and the handle.

To simplify the handling of the surface mopping device according to the invention, the joint can be locked in at least two different pivot positions. For wiping freely accessible surfaces, the wiper body can extend, for example, transversely to the handle of the surface wiper and can be locked in this position. For easier cleaning of surfaces that have a smaller width than the wiper body when it is arranged transversely to the handle, the wiper body can extend substantially parallel to the handle and can also be locked in this position.

The wiper body is fixed on a curved adhesive surface that surrounds an axis, and the pressing-out means consists of a pressing roller that can be pivoted about the axis. The advantage here is that a curved adhesive surface ensures a secure fixing of the wiper body and the wiper body is connected to it with a contact surface corresponding to the size of the adhesive surface. Excessive deformations or damage to the wiper body, for example due to clamps or holding claws, are thereby reliably avoided, which considerably increases the service life of the surface wiper device according to the invention. The pressing means, which in the present case is formed by a pressing roller, can be moved about the axis, which is also enclosed by the curved holding surface, and therefore expresses the entire surface of the wiping body facing the surface to be wiped, if necessary. Furthermore, the pressure roller, due to the exclusively rolling movement on the surface of the wiping body, results in a pressing process that is gentle on the material, which is important in view of a long service life.

The adhesive surface can enclose the axis at the same distance or in an increasingly increasing manner in the direction of movement of the pressing roller Distance. Depending on the application, the adhesive surface can be designed accordingly. If the adhesive surface surrounds the axis at the same distance, the wiper body is pressed out almost uniformly when the ejection roller is actuated. The entire surface of the wiping body then has a uniformly wetted surface with essentially the same liquid content. If, for example, different areas of wiping body wetted are required in other applications, it has proven to be expedient for the adhesive surface to enclose the axis at a distance that increases increasingly in the direction of movement of the squeezing roller. If the linkage attached to the handle of the device is actuated in a surface mopping device designed in this way, the pressure roller pivots over the surface of the wiping body with increasing contact pressure in the direction of movement and expresses it more with increasing pivoting movement.

This configuration can be particularly advantageous if the soiling of the surfaces to be wiped is different, so that different amounts of water are required for cleaning, or it is advisable for the surfaces to be cleaned to clean the surfaces immediately afterwards with a relatively damp one wipe largely dry mop. In this case, it is only necessary to use the more strongly expressed surface areas for wiping.

The adhesive surface can be penetrated by drainage openings for faster removal of the displaced liquid. When the squeezing roller is actuated, the displaced liquid is drained off, on the one hand, via the surface of the wiping body facing the squeezing roller and, on the other hand, through the drainage openings in the adhesive surface. Of course, care must be taken that the drainage openings are dimensioned such that the squeezing roller maintains a sufficiently large contact pressure on the wiper body.

The squeezing roller can be mounted in a swivel bracket that can be pivoted about the axis and actuated by the linkage attached to the handle. A Great operational reliability and good usage properties are required.

The distance between the axis and the press roller can be changeable. The advantage here is that, given the thickness of the wiper body, the contact pressure of the pressing roller on it can be changed, or that, depending on the particular circumstances of the application, wiper bodies of different thicknesses can be used in one and the same surface wiper.

For better drainage of the water stored in the wiper body during the squeezing process, it has proven to be advantageous if the squeezing roller has a surface which is penetrated by drainage openings. There are advantages in economic terms if the drainage openings are separated from one another, for example, by ribs extending in the circumferential direction of the squeezing roller. The production of pressure rollers configured in this way is particularly simple if, for example, annular disks with the same inner diameter but different outer diameters are alternately threaded onto the axis.

In addition to a multi-part design of the squeezing roller, it can also be formed in one part, for example. The drainage opening causes the wiping body to be effectively squeezed out and the expressed liquid to be drained off quickly.

With regard to the economical and simple manufacture of the surface wiper device according to the invention, the ends of the squeezing roller can be mounted in the swivel carrier. In order to avoid deflections of the squeezing roller, which are used in wiper bodies with a large width, and to reduce the bearing loads in the region of the axial ends of the squeezing roller, the squeezing roller can be mounted at least one further point in the swivel carrier between the ends.

In a preferred embodiment, the squeezing roller can have a radius which is 0.3 to 0.6 times as large as the largest radius of the adhesive surface. Due to the comparatively smaller diameter of the squeezing roller, in contrast to the adhesive surface, the surface of the wiping body used is kept flexible over a long period of use when it is actuated. The good flexing work of the squeezing roller reliably prevents partial hardening of the surface of the wiping body and caking, which means that good elasticity and excellent properties are retained even over a long period of use.

According to an advantageous embodiment, the wiper body can be formed by a foam body. Depending on the application and the surfaces to be wiped, different types of wiper body materials can, if necessary, be attached to the handle of the device and expressed by the swiveling ejection roller. The material of the foam body used can correspond to the usual materials used for this purpose.

In Figure 3, the holding part is shown with a wiper body fixed to the adhesive surface. 1 and 2 show an exemplary embodiment of the surface mopping device according to the invention. It comprises a device handle 1, preferably made of plastic, which is connected at its axial lower end to a joint 8. On the side of the joint 8 facing away from the handle 1, a holder 7 is arranged, into which a holding part 11 can be snapped. The holding part 11 is on the provided in the holder 7 opposite side with an adhesive surface 6 on which a compressible wiping body 2 made of an absorbent material is attached. The snap-in fastening of the holding part 11 on the holder 7 has the advantage that when the wiper body is used up, it can be replaced quickly without any problems. The wiper body 2 in the present example has a substantially semicircular cross section and is fixed on the side facing the axis 5 to a curved adhesive surface 6 of the holding part 11.

For pressing out the wiper body 2, a pushing-out means 3 is provided in the form of a pushing-out roller 3.1, which is rotatably mounted about its own axis in a swivel carrier 10. The swivel bracket 10 is essentially U-shaped and rotatably supported about the axis 5 in the region of its two projections. In order to initiate a swiveling movement, the swiveling support 10 is connected to the linkage 4, the linkage 4 and the swiveling support 10 being operable by a sleeve enclosing the handle 1. As shown in this exemplary embodiment, the push-out roller 3.1 cannot be in engagement with the wiper body 2 in its starting position. According to another embodiment, not shown here, there is also the possibility that the squeezing roller 3.1 always acts on the wiper body 2. It is advantageous here that the shear forces on the holding surface 6 of the holding part 11 are reduced when the ejection roller 3.1 is actuated. The mechanical load on the wiper body 2 is also reduced, which ensures a comparatively longer service life. The adhesive surface 6 of the holding part 11 encloses the axis 5 at the same distance, so that with the same thickness of the wiping body 2, a uniform pressing of the same is ensured when the pressing roller is pivoted.

For better adaptation to the particular circumstances of the application, the distance between the axis 5 and the axis of rotation of the pressing roller 3.1 can be changed. This is particularly easy to achieve with an eccentric. To achieve particularly good usage properties, it is provided that that the holder 7 is pivotally attached to the handle 1 by the joint 8.

For better drainage of the liquid squeezed out of the wiper body 2, the squeezing roller 3.1 and the adhesive surface 6 are pierced by drainage openings.

In view of the lowest possible weight of the surface mopping device and a good handiness associated therewith, it is provided that polypropylene is predominantly used as the material for the production, wherein the mechanically more highly stressed components can additionally contain reinforcing fibers. One material in question consists of 70% polypropylene with a 30% fiberglass content, for example. In addition, when using plastics, excellent functional reliability is guaranteed throughout the entire service life. Corrosion cannot affect them.

Die Schnappverbindung zwischen dem Halteteil 11 und dem Halter 7 wird durch die in Figur 2 zu erkennende Aussparung im Halter 7 und die in diese Aussparung einschnappbare Nase des Halteteils 11 gebildet.FIG. 3 shows the holding part 11, which cannot be seen in FIGS. 1 and 2, and which consists of polystyrene and comprises an adhesive surface 6 for the wiper body 2 on part of its outer circumferential surface. The snap connection between the holding part 11 and the holder 7 is formed by the recess in the holder 7 which can be seen in FIG. 2 and the nose of the holding part 11 which can be snapped into this recess.
