Abstract

In gripper looms with a transfer of the weft thread in the middle of the shed, there is the fundamental problem that the elements inserting the weft thread, that is to say the grippers, have to be guided into the shed in such a way that the thread transfer in the middle of the shed takes place without colliding contact of the two gripper heads. …<??>This is achieved, according to the invention, in that, among other things, each gripper (1) has, at least on one side of its longitudinal extension, an additional guide face (14a, 17a) which is temporarily connected in a slide-guiding manner to guide levers (5) pivotable into and out of the lower shed (13) under control. …<IMAGE>…

Description

In the case of rapier weaving machines with the transfer of the weft thread in the center of the shed there is basically the problem that the elements which insert the weft thread, that is to say the grippers, have to be introduced into the shed in such a way that the thread transfer takes place in the center of the shed without colliding touches of the two rapier heads.

So far, two fundamentally different ways of solving this problem are known.
In most belt gripper machines, very light, flexible plastic belts, which have a gripper head at one end, are guided over the entire width of the fabric in so-called guide teeth.
The guide teeth are arranged so that they grip from below through the warp threads of the lower compartment during the gripper run. They are firmly connected to the leaf bar that carries the reed. When the leaf stops, these guide teeth dip under the warp threads of the lower compartment.
These solutions are known from European patent specification 0 204 274 and from European patent specification 0 402 285.

This type of gripper guide has the disadvantage that the guide teeth only dip under the warp threads relatively shortly before the blade stop.
There is therefore a risk of irregularities, such as stripes, occurring at these points in the tissue. In addition, a large number of relatively closely spaced guide teeth are necessary to guide such a flexible belt gripper.

It is desirable that the guidance of the grippers can be guaranteed very reliably even with wide and high-speed weaving machines.
Another way of guiding the grippers through the shed is to make the two gripper belts much more rigid. For this purpose, it is known to use the sole of the shop, over which the warp threads of the lower compartment also run, as a sliding guide for the grippers.
If necessary, the rapier heads are supported on the reed by a guide piece connected to them. There is little or no guidance in the direction of the blade stop and upwards.

This type of guidance has the disadvantage that the grippers can be moved out of their path relatively easily by the vibrations of the weaving machine. The wider the weaving machine and the faster it runs, the more serious this problem becomes.

According to DE-PS 17 10 292 it is known that the control lever of a device for positively controlled weft transfer through the warp threads of the lower pocket. However, there are no irregularities in the fabric, such as stripes, because these control levers are led out of the lower compartment immediately after the weft thread has been transferred, that is, long before the sheet stop.
It is also worth mentioning that the grippers or their belts and rods are only required to be guided securely until the weft transfer has taken place without the two grippers colliding. After that, i.e. when the grippers are returned, slight deviations from the gripper's career no longer play a role.
In DE-PS 17 10 292 is already spoken of that the control lever in addition to its function to control the The looper clamping lever also realizes a centering or fixing of the position of the looper rod during the thread transfer or transfer. However, a solution to this is not shown.

Also known from DE-PS 39 01 549 is a gripper with a guide wood arranged on the reed side, the task of which is to provide the gripper with a stabilizing guide on the reed during the weft insertion into the shed. The gripper with guide wood glides along the reed during its alternating forward and backward movement.
Regardless of the design and fastening options of the guide wood on the gripper, it should be mentioned here as a disadvantage that the reed rods of the reed are subject to constant wear due to the friction with the guide wood.

The invention is based on the aforementioned known solutions, the task of using a flexible band or a rigidly designed gripper bar for the purpose of thread transfer in the loom center to move towards each other gripper by suitably trained guides from gripper-damaging contacts and at the same time protect the reed rods from frictional wear to protect.

According to the invention the object is essentially achieved by the characterizing features listed in claim 1.

With the solution according to the invention the advantage is achieved that a perfect weft transfer without collision of the hook is guaranteed.
Compared to the cited prior art, the advantage of the solution according to the invention is that the guide levers can be swiveled under the warp threads of the lower compartment shortly after the weft thread transfer in the center. The timing of the passage of the guide lever through the lower compartment is chosen so that it is long enough before the striking of the Weft thread or its binding in the weaving point of the fabric, the guide levers are pivoted out of the shed. Therefore, the warp threads of the lower shed have enough time to return to their original position until the weft thread strikes than is the case with the guides according to the prior art. Of course, these guides only dive under the sub-compartment when the leaf stops.
However, the solution according to the invention is not only provided for the gripper guidance in the area of the weft transfer; it can also be arranged over the entire width of the fabric. This means that it is possible that the grippers are guided up to the weft thread transfer before the entry, but in particular with the entry into the shed, and that the guide levers are pivoted out of the lower compartment after the weft thread transfer.
This means that in a further embodiment of the invention it is conceivable not only to guide the grippers 1 themselves but also the organs carrying them in accordance with the features of the invention. It may alternatively be possible, instead of the gripper guide shown in Figure 1, the guide mechanism, consisting of lever shaft 3, bearing 4 and guide lever 5, and its drive, consisting of coupling 7, roller lever 9, roller 10 and eccentric 12, in the range of motion to shift the gripper bars 2. This means that the grippers 1 are not guided even in the area of the weft transfer, but the rod 2 carrying the gripper 1 or, in the case of a belt-guided gripper, its guide belt.
The drive of the guide mechanism is not shown in detail here; this can be found in DE-PS 17 10 292 described in the prior art.

Figure 1 shows on both sides of the center transfer of the weft thread shown with a dash-dotted line, the grippers 1, which are carried here for example by a gripper bar 2. At a certain distance to the right and left of the center transfer, at least two guide levers 5, which are arranged at a distance from one another, are connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the lever shaft 3, which is rotatably received in the bearings 4. The lever shaft 3 is in turn connected to a rocker 6 in a rotationally fixed connection (FIG. 2). At the free end of the rocker 6 engages a coupling 7, which is connected to a drive as it is known from DE-PS 17 10 292. Accordingly, the other end of the coupling 7 is connected to a roller lever 9, which is non-rotatably connected to the shutter shaft 8, the roller 10 of which scans an eccentric 12, which is non-rotatably connected to the drive shaft 11.
The control of the guide lever 5 takes place in such a way that when the eccentric 12 rotates, the guide lever 5 is moved by the warp threads of the lower compartment 13 and the grippers 1 slide on the gripper guide surface 14.

FIG. 2 shows a guide lever 5 resting on the guide surface 14a of the hook 1. This is a position as it is present immediately before the weft thread is transferred.
The gripper guide surface 14a is formed here on a thrust piece 14 which is firmly connected to the gripper. On the reed side, the gripper 1 carries a guide wood 15 which opposes it Supports reed 16 and simultaneously slides on reed 16.
Another gripper guide is shown in FIG. 3. Here, a gripper guide surface 17a is provided on a thrust piece 17 connected to the gripper 1 on the reed side. With such a gripper guide, the guide wood 15 connected to the gripper can be dispensed with. In the exemplary embodiments according to FIGS. 2 and 3, the guide levers 5 are arranged on the lever shaft 3 in a rotationally fixed manner. The control takes place in the manner described for FIG. 1.
