This minimises the risk that the person may receive too heavy a dose which can occur if an aerosol can of the type which contains a propellant under pressure is used.
  • Suitable pharmaceutically acceptable liquid carriers are alcohol, glycerine, saccharine and a flavouring such as peppermint.
  • the alcohol can occupy the greatest volume eg from 75% to 85%, the volume of alcohol increasing as the percentage of nicotine decreases.

  • the following table sets out the ingredients of four cans each having a volume of 20ml and the nicotine content of which ranges from 1.45% to 0% and which is suitable for the treatment, over a period of about 1 month, of a person who at the beginning of treatment is smoking about 30 cigarettes per day.

Claims (6)

  1. Pluralité de récipients dont chacun, excepté un, contient de la nicotine sous forme liquide dispersée dans au moins un support pharmaceutiquement acceptable, le pourcentage de nicotine en volume dans chaque récipient étant différent du pourcentage de nicotine dans chaque autre récipient, et ledit premier récipient contenant ledit support pharmaceutiquement acceptable mais pas de nicotine.
  2. Pluralité de récipients selon la revendication 1, le nombre de récipients étant de trois, deux récipients contenant de la nicotine, le pourcentage de nicotine dans un de ces récipients étant supérieur au pourcentage de nicotine dans l'autre de ces récipients, le troisième récipient contenant ledit support pharmaceutiquement acceptable mais pas de nicotine.
  3. Pluralité de récipients selon la revendication 1, le nombre de récipients étant de quatre, trois récipients contenant de la nicotine, le pourcentage de nicotine dans chacun de ces récipients étant différent du pourcentage dans chacun des autres de ces trois récipients, le quatrième récipient contenant au moins un support pharmaceutiquement acceptable mais pas de nicotine.
  4. Pluralité de récipients selon la revendication 3, dans laquelle le pourcentage de nicotine dans lesdits trois récipients est respectivement d'environ 1,5 %, d'environ 1 % et d'environ 0,5 %.
  5. Pluralité de récipients selon la revendication 3, dans laquelle le pourcentage de nicotine dans lesdits trois récipients est respectivement de 1,45 %, 0,97 % et 0,48 %.
  6. Pluralité de récipients selon l'une quelconque des revendications 1 à 5 et qui sont des récipients aérosols actionnés par une pompe.
