Die in die Vorrichtung hineinlaufende Papierbahn 1 wird von einer nicht dargestellten Vorratsrolle abgezogen. Der Abzug erfolgt durch das Vorzugswalzenpaar 2. Aus dieser Figur ist zu erkennen, daß der vom Greiferzylinder 4 herantransportierte und an seinem Ende beleimte Streifen 6 mit den freien Schenkeln des Henkelgriffes 17 und mit der vorlaufenden umgeknickten Kante des Streifens 11 verklebt wird. Der Greiferzylinder 8 öffnet dann seine Zange 20, so daß das vorbereitete Griffstück 21 (Fig.3) nur noch von der Zange 22 des Greiferzylinders 5 transportiert wird. Claims (4)

  1. Carrier handle for bags with flat base sections, preferably with russet or square fold base, comprising two strips of material (6, 11) of L-shaped cross section in their position of use, of which one set of legs, lying approximately in a plane, are adhesive-bonded to the base, and the other adjacent set of legs are provided with a grip part,
    characterised in that
    the grip part (17) consists of a strip of material folded in a U-shape, of which the legs located between the adjacent and interbonded legs of the material strips (6, 11) are adhesive-bonded to these.
  2. Carry handle according to Claim 1,
    characterised in that
    the material strips and/or grip parts are made of paper.
  3. Process for the manufacture of bags with carry handles according to Claim 1 or 2,
    characterised in that
    a web section forming one material strip is provided with a coating of glue at one end,
    that on this glue coating is bonded a web section folded around a transverse line, forming the second material strip, of which the folded-over portion is pressed onto the legs of the U-shaped grip part, and that the free portion of the lower web section and the upper, folded-over portion of the upper section covering the grip part is provided with coatings of glue, and the unit thus glue-coated is pressed onto the base surface of the bag.
  4. Apparatus for performing the process according to Claim 3,
    characterised in that
    a first gripper cylinder (4) provided with grips (22) engages the front end of the first web section (6) with its gripping devices,
    that positioned against the first gripper cylinder (4), is a cylinder of a glue application mechanism (7) which provides the first web section (6) with a stripe-shaped coating of glue,
    that arranged against the first gripper cylinder (4) is a second gripper cylinder (8) which receives, with its gripping device (20), from a supply arrangement (14, 12) a second web section adhered to the legs of the U-shaped grip part (17), folded onto itself such that the portion adhered to the grip part (17) is folded onto the trailing portion of the second web section (11), said second gripper cylinder pressing the portion of the second web section adhered to the grip part onto the glue-coated trailing portion of the first web section (6), and
    that a second glue application arrangement (19) is positioned at the first gripper cylinder (4), of which the glue application roller provides coatings of glue to the leading portion of the first web section (6) and the second web section (11) folded over the U-shaped grip part (17), and that the first gripper cylinder (4) then presses the unit (6, 11, 17) onto the base (23) of the bag.
