Definitions
- the invention relates to a device for electrophoretic dip coating with an endless conveyor belt which is guided through a bath container and is connected as an electrode.
- German Offenlegungsschrift 38 43 544 In order to avoid incomplete painting of small parts such as screws, nuts, hinges and fittings, it is known from this German laid-open publication 38 43 544 for electrophoretic continuous immersion painting of small parts and bulk goods that the paint is passed through the paint bath on a conveyor connected as an electrode lead, which has an electrically insulating coating with the exception of the required contact surfaces.
- the contact surfaces of the paint are changed at least once by placing the paint on its base, ie the conveyor belt, in a different position. After such a change in position, the original contact points between the item to be painted and the conveyor belt and among themselves a painting are accessible.
- the change in position of the paint on the conveyor belt can be stationary in the known continuous immersion painting system or movable baffles, by moving parts of an articulated conveyor belt against each other or by jarring the conveyor belt.
- the conveyor belt which is made of stainless steel, for example, as a spiral wire belt with a round or triangular profile of the spirals, is provided with carriers when conveying rotationally symmetrical parts.
- a continuous painting which is behind the immersion bath among other things.
- a baking oven connects, through which the items to be painted are conveyed on a conveyor belt that is thermally stable with respect to the baking temperatures.
- the known continuous dip coating system is located between the conveyor belt passing through the immersion bath and a slide loaded with a film of water on the conveyor belt of the washing station.
- the invention has for its object to enable a complete electrophoretic dip painting with reduced mechanical engineering effort and possibly also with a continuous painting system a gentle transfer of the paint from one conveyor belt to another.
- a slat conveyor belt several advantages can be achieved simultaneously. In this way, a complete, uniform coating or painting is achieved since the contact points with the teeth of the Allow the surface of the slat conveyor belt to be changed, namely advantageously in that the conveyor belt is guided through a bath container with a deflection approximately in the middle. The total contact area is reduced and the quality of the painting is improved.
- the curve radius of the deflection can be adapted to each workpiece contour by changing the length of the slat belt, for example by means of clamping units, in such a way that there is an optimal rearrangement of the parts to be painted.
- the lamella construction allows the conveyor belt assigned to the bath container and a subsequent belt to take over the parts to be provided with lamellas which interlock with one another in the transfer area lying between the chain wheels of the two conveyor belts. No height difference then needs to be overcome during the transfer, which enables extremely gentle transfer of the workpieces.
- similar conveyor belts can be used for a continuous continuous immersion painting system.
- the comb-like engagement in the transfer area between the adjacent sprockets of successive conveyor belts results, for example, from the fact that the distance between corresponds to the longitudinal axes of adjacent cross bars of the single or multiple chain pitch and the middle of three slats is offset from the other two slats.
- the lamellae then have free ends which are separated from each other by a gap due to the geometry which protrudes from the cross bars during the rolling on the chain wheels, that is to say in the turning points.
- the cantilevered ends of the correspondingly arranged lamellae of the following conveyor belt engage in the gaps between the free ends, so that there is a continuous, comb-like intermeshing and transfer of the parts from one to the other conveyor belt without falling paths.
- the tooth flanks facing one another should form a right angle;
- the angular dimension can be adjusted accordingly depending on the most favorable center of gravity when taking over. This effect can also be achieved if radii or curves are provided between the tooth flanks.
- the teeth of the slat conveyor belt ensure that they rest securely on the conveyor belt without any further measures.
- the front rod receiving bore of the slats is advantageously designed as an elongated hole, the freedom of movement required for the slats in the reversal points can be achieved with a crossbar division that is larger than the chain pitch.
- spacer sleeves arranged on the crossbars between the lamellae which should preferably have the same outer diameter as the bushes of the drive chains, there is a lateral support of the slats, which therefore do not tip over due to the workpiece loading.
- the spacer bushes offer favorable points of attack for - especially useful with large belt widths - axial supports for turning and reversing guides.
- a feed (feed table, feed conveyor) 2, a bath container 3 with its associated conveyor belt 4 and a subsequent conveyor belt 6, which is guided through a baking oven 5, are shown in FIG. 1 from a continuous continuous immersion painting system 1.
- the feed conveyor 2 brings the schematically indicated parts 7 in a single-layer to the conveyor belt 4, which passes through the painting bath 8 in the bath container 3.
- the front and rear drive rollers which are designed as chain wheels 9 and 11, are connected synchronously.
- the conveyor belts 4 and 6 are designed in lamella construction; they consist of lamellae 12 which are arranged on cross bars 14 connected to drive chains 13 and are separated from one another by spacer sleeves 20 (cf. FIG. 3).
- the outer diameter of the spacer sleeves 20 is equal to the outer diameter of the bushes of the drive chains 13.
- Each lamella 12 according to the exemplary embodiment has six teeth 15, whose pitch T calculated from tip to tip corresponds to the pitch of the drive chains 13.
- the teeth 15 are of different heights, as can be seen from the height difference 16 shown in FIG. 2, and the tooth flanks 17 facing one another are adjacent Teeth form a right angle 18.
- the slats 12 have, since the crossbar division is larger than the chain pitch, namely corresponds to the 3-fold chain pitch, in addition to a cylindrical rod slot 19 and 21 designed as an elongated hole.
- the lamellae 12 are arranged offset such that the middle one of three lamellae 12a is offset in the transport direction 22 with respect to the other two lamellae 12b and 12c. While the distance between the longitudinal axes 23 of adjacent cross bars 14 corresponds to the triple chain pitch T, the offset dimension of the respective middle slat 12a is only 2.5 times the chain pitch T.
- the slats 12b and 12c end - in the direction of transport 22 seen - thus in front of a cross bar 14, and the middle lamellae 12a project with their free ends beyond the cross bar 14 (cf. FIG. 3).
- a deflection 27 indicated schematically in FIG. 1 is located approximately in the middle of the bath container.
- the conveyor belt 4 guided on both sides by the drive chains 13 runs for this purpose, first inclined into the bath container 3, namely until it has reached the deflection 27 (turning point); from there it then rises at an angle corresponding to the previous inclination, so that it finally exits the paint bath and reaches the transfer area Y.
- the teeth of the inclined and the inclined slats 12 of the conveyor belt 4 approach each other, which is synonymous with a rearrangement of the parts 7, so that the previous contact points can then be washed freely and completely by the paint.
- the deflection radius which is set in the deflection 27 on account of the inclinations of the incoming and outgoing conveyor belt 4 can be changed by tensioning or relaxing the belt, so that there is an optimal rearrangement of the parts or a change in the contact points.
- the conveyor belt 4 consisting of slats 12 thus not only enables an automatically changing position of the paint on the conveyor belt and thus free access to the entire surface while passing through the bath container 3, but also in combination with a similar, ie also consisting of slats 12 , subsequent conveyor belt 6 a gentle transfer from one surface to the other, which does not damage the surface completely wetted by the paint Conveyor belt.
- the conveyor belt can also consist of individual slats 29 which are connected to one another in an articulated manner to form single-row chains 28. 6, two lamellae 29 are connected to each other by means of a rivet or metal bolt 30. Several such slat chains arranged parallel to one another then form a conveyor belt with a relatively small mass and a large opening cross section.
- stabilizing plates 31 can also be arranged parallel to individual plates 29 of a plate chain 28, as shown in the drawing in FIG. 7. Expediently, then - as shown in FIG. 7 - single lamella 29 and lamella pairs 29, 31 alternate.
- Roller-shaped chain wheels 32 which are provided with peripheral slots 33 for guiding the plate chains 28 and rivet head receptacles 34, are used for guiding and deflecting the plate chains 28.
- These chain wheels can be formed in one piece or consist of individual disks which are arranged next to one another and form circumferential slots 33.
- the lamella chains 28 can also be guided in U-profiles 35, which in turn consist of two lamellae 37, 38 each connected by rivets 36 (FIG. 9).
- the U-shaped guides 35 can also consist of a plurality of one-piece U-profiles 39 arranged next to one another (FIG. 10).
- a particularly secure guidance is obtained if the lamella chains 28 in box-shaped guides 40 with an upper slot 41 and optionally additionally a lower slot 42 are guided.
- Such guides can each consist of two U-profiles 43, 44.
- conveyor belts consisting of several parallel slat chains results from the fact that the individual slat chains of two adjacent conveyor belts intermesh like a comb in the area of their abutment and form a particularly large overload zone due to the absence of cross bars connecting the slats. This allows a smooth transition of the goods to be transported or painted.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a device for electrophoretic dip coating with an endless conveyor belt which is guided through a bath container and is connected as an electrode.
Such a device is described in
A continuous painting, which is behind the immersion bath among other things. a baking oven connects, through which the items to be painted are conveyed on a conveyor belt that is thermally stable with respect to the baking temperatures. In order to avoid or limit mechanical damage, especially when transferring the paint from the conveyor belt of the electrophoretic dip coating to the downstream conveyor belt that passes through the baking oven upstream, the known continuous dip coating system is located between the conveyor belt passing through the immersion bath and a slide loaded with a film of water on the conveyor belt of the washing station.
The invention has for its object to enable a complete electrophoretic dip painting with reduced mechanical engineering effort and possibly also with a continuous painting system a gentle transfer of the paint from one conveyor belt to another.
This object is achieved in that the conveyor belt with protrusions formed with contact surfaces with ex. a jagged surface provided slats, which are advantageously arranged parallel to the direction of transport and alternately offset from each other, preferably such that the middle of three slats is offset from the other two slats by an amount different from the chain pitch. With such a slat conveyor belt, several advantages can be achieved simultaneously. All that is needed is a redirection in order to shift the contact points in such a way that the previously uncoated parts of the surfaces in the second half of the bath are also washed by the paint and are thus completely painted. In the deflection area, the slats move against each other; the teeth of different heights of the sections of the slats moving towards the point of reversal and moving away approach each other, so that on the second half of the transport path, namely following the deflection for the parts, there are different contact points than before. The curve radius of the deflection can be adapted to each workpiece contour by changing the length of the slat belt, for example by means of clamping units, in such a way that there is an optimal rearrangement of the parts to be painted.
Above all, the lamella construction allows the conveyor belt assigned to the bath container and a subsequent belt to take over the parts to be provided with lamellas which interlock with one another in the transfer area lying between the chain wheels of the two conveyor belts. No height difference then needs to be overcome during the transfer, which enables extremely gentle transfer of the workpieces. In addition, similar conveyor belts can be used for a continuous continuous immersion painting system. Due to the longitudinally offset slats, advantageously arranged on cross bars connected to the drive chains, the comb-like engagement in the transfer area between the adjacent sprockets of successive conveyor belts results, for example, from the fact that the distance between corresponds to the longitudinal axes of adjacent cross bars of the single or multiple chain pitch and the middle of three slats is offset from the other two slats. The lamellae then have free ends which are separated from each other by a gap due to the geometry which protrudes from the cross bars during the rolling on the chain wheels, that is to say in the turning points. The cantilevered ends of the correspondingly arranged lamellae of the following conveyor belt engage in the gaps between the free ends, so that there is a continuous, comb-like intermeshing and transfer of the parts from one to the other conveyor belt without falling paths.
As has been found in experiments, the tooth flanks facing one another should form a right angle; Depending on the workpiece, the angular dimension can be adjusted accordingly depending on the most favorable center of gravity when taking over. This effect can also be achieved if radii or curves are provided between the tooth flanks. In the case of workpieces that can be rolled, the teeth of the slat conveyor belt ensure that they rest securely on the conveyor belt without any further measures.
If, based on the running direction of the conveyor belt, the front rod receiving bore of the slats is advantageously designed as an elongated hole, the freedom of movement required for the slats in the reversal points can be achieved with a crossbar division that is larger than the chain pitch.
In the case of spacer sleeves arranged on the crossbars between the lamellae, which should preferably have the same outer diameter as the bushes of the drive chains, there is a lateral support of the slats, which therefore do not tip over due to the workpiece loading. Furthermore, the spacer bushes offer favorable points of attack for - especially useful with large belt widths - axial supports for turning and reversing guides.

11 ausgebildeten Antriebswalzen synchron geschaltet.A feed (feed table, feed conveyor) 2, a
Fig. 3). Fig. 3).The
6.Due to the running geometry on the
In order to achieve a change in the contact points between the
The deflection radius which is set in the
As can be seen from the illustrations in FIGS. 5 to 11, the conveyor belt can also consist of
In order to absorb tilting moments occurring during a tensile load, stabilizing
Irrespective of this, the
Lackierguts. The particular advantage of conveyor belts consisting of several parallel slat chains results from the fact that the individual slat chains of two adjacent conveyor belts intermesh like a comb in the area of their abutment and form a particularly large overload zone due to the absence of cross bars connecting the slats. This allows a smooth transition of the goods to be transported or painted.
