Abstract

Obliquely downwardly running spring arms are integrally formed on the individual push-button keys. The lower ends of these spring arms are connected via tapers to connecting webs. As a result of the tapers, the weak point of this arrangement comes to rest such that the operation of the individual keys is maintained in the event of a fracture in the installed state. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a push button panel made of plastic, in particular for communication terminals, with a plurality of interconnected push buttons.

Such a push button panel is known for example from DE 30 14 996 A1. The use of complete pushbuttons significantly simplifies assembly compared to assembly with individual buttons. A disadvantage of the known pushbutton fields is that if a part of the pushbutton field breaks in the installed state, functions of individual keys are lost, which results in an exchange of the entire pushbutton field.

The object of the present invention is to provide a pushbutton field of the type mentioned, in which the function of the individual keys is maintained in the event of a break in the installed state.

This object is achieved according to the invention for a pushbutton array of the type mentioned at the outset in that resilient spring arms extending obliquely downward and parallel to the plane of the side surfaces are formed on two diagonally opposite lower corners of each pushbutton in a row of pushbuttons, with directly adjacent spring arms of two pushbuttons in the opposite direction are directed obliquely downwards that the spring arms of the pushbuttons of adjacent rows are each arranged so that the upper and the upper ends of the spring arms are directly opposite each other, and that all neighboring and all neighboring and opposite lower ends of the spring arms are connected via tapering with connecting webs lying transversely to the longitudinal direction of the spring arms.

The individual keys are connected to one another via the connecting webs in such a way that they form a coherent, easy-to-assemble push-button field. Due to the tapering provided according to the invention when connecting the lower ends of the spring arms to the connecting webs, a predetermined breaking point is created, at which a break occurs when the push buttons are overused. Due to the construction according to the invention, the function of the single key is not impaired by this break, since the function of the spring arm is fully retained. In the assembled state, a preload is achieved via the spring arms, which prevents rattling noises of the individual pushbuttons even under unfavorable operating conditions. Furthermore, the spring arms automatically reset the key bodies independently of built-in switching elements.

An embodiment of the invention is characterized in that the spring arms run parallel to the plane of the end faces of the push buttons. This embodiment represents an alternative arrangement of the spring arms to the arrangement of the spring arms according to claim 1.

An expedient development of the push-button panel according to the invention is characterized in that the spring arms and the connecting webs form a uniform grid arrangement for each keypad. This results in a simple geometry of the pushbutton field.

Another expedient embodiment of the push button field according to the invention is characterized in that larger buttons extend over two or more whole raster units. In this way it is ensured that when using keys of different sizes there is no need to change the arrangement of the spring arms and connecting webs. The invention will be explained in more detail below with the aid of two exemplary pushbutton fields shown in the drawing.

Diese Verjüngungen 12 sind besonders deutlich der FIG 4 zu entnehmen.1 and 2 show the structure according to the invention of a pushbutton field consisting of twelve pushbuttons 1 of the same size. Elastic spring arms 4 are formed on two diagonally opposite lower corners of each push button 1. The spring arms 4 of the individual push buttons 1 are arranged such that directly adjacent spring arms 4 of two push buttons 1 lying next to one another are directed obliquely downwards in the opposite direction. From the two FIGURES it can also be seen that the spring arms 4 of the push buttons 1 are arranged in such a way that the upper and lower ends of the spring arms 4 lie directly opposite each other between adjacent rows of buttons. All lower ends of the elastic spring arms 4 are connected to connecting webs 6 running transversely to the longitudinal direction of the spring arms 4 via tapered portions 12. These tapers 12 can be seen particularly clearly in FIG. 4.

With the help of the connecting webs 6, all the individual keys 1 are combined to form a coherent pushbutton field. By the tapered portions 12 are set up predetermined breaking points which yield and break when the pushbuttons 1 are overused. If the taper 12 breaks, the function of the single button is maintained, since the function of the spring arm 4 is not impaired, which continues to rest with its rounded lower end on the base plate, not shown here, so that the spring properties of the push button 1 are retained. The spacers 8 and 9 limit the key travel.

B. 3, jeweils über zwei oder auch mehrere ganze Rastereinheiten der Rasteranordnung.2 and 3 show a push button field with eight different push buttons 2 and 3. The structure corresponds in principle to the structure of the push button field shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. It should only be shown here in connection with the first two FIGURES that the spring arms 4 and 5 and the connecting webs 6 and 7 form a uniform grid arrangement, regardless of the size of the pushbutton field or the size of the individual pushbuttons, in order to provide a simple geometry receive. Different sized pushbuttons, e.g. B. 3, are used, these larger push buttons, z. B. 3, each over two or more whole grid units of the grid arrangement.

This results very clearly from the section through two different sized pushbuttons 2 and 3 shown in FIG. At the same time, the tapering 12 can be seen very clearly in FIG.
