Cosmetics compact comprising two housing parts, namely a lower part (1) and a cover (3) articulatedly held thereon, and comprising a closure (5) which has a latching lug (8) on one housing part and a handle for unlocking on the other housing part, having an unlocking tongue (9) which can be moved substantially parallel to the parting plane and which has a handle (12) which can be actuated from outside, this unlocking tongue (9) being arranged in an edge profile (6) of the one housing part, having webs (11) laterally on the end edge of the unlocking tongue (9) which hold the handle (12), and having a latching lug (8) which projects into a cutout (7) of the edge profile (6) and which is seated on the other housing part and cooperates with the unlocking tongue (9), characterized in that the unlocking tongue (9) is aligned such that it extends from the edge of a cutout (7) in the edge profile (6) and perpendicularly with respect to the parting plane.
