  • This invention relates to a new interlocking pallet comprised of at least two sections which can be joined together.
  • Interlocking pallets which are formed by a plurality of sections are known. These pallets are useful for supporting loads to be moved by lift trucks, particularly when only a portion of a load is to be transported from place to place. Such a pallet is disclosed in US Patent No. 3,650,224. While the various sections of the pallet can be joined in a releasable interlocking relationship, no positive locking means is provided, and in lifting and moving the pallet, the sections may come apart.
  • DE-A-2231178 describes a multi-section pallet in which the sections are held together by reinforcing tubes inserted through holes in distance pieces located at the comers of the sections.
  • the holes are located just below the deck plate of each section and reinforcing tubes cross at the comers and overlie each other at the cross over points. Rigidity of the structure is dependent on the reinforcing tubes and bending stress is concentrated at the comers of the sections.

Claims (9)

  1. Palette comprenant au moins deux sections (12, 14 etc.) pourvues de moyens de verrouillage réciproque libérables pour joindre ensemble lesdites sections, chaque section comportant un plancher de support de charge supérieur (20, 90 etc.) avec des éléments de support sous-jacents (59, 100 etc.), une pluralité de charnons d'articulation (36, 36', 86, 86') espacés sur la périphérie d'au moins un côté dudit plancher de support de charge supérieur, les charnons d'articulation situés sur une première section de ladite palette étant espacés afin de permettre leur accouplement avec des charnons d'articulation correspondants situés sur une seconde section de ladite palette,
       lesdits charnons d'articulation étant conçus pour recevoir un élément de verrouillage libérable (76, 94) lorsqu'ils sont amenés en relation d'accouplement, lesdites sections étant jointes ensemble de manière à procurer une plateforme intégrée et rigide lorsque ledit élément de verrouillage est inséré à travers les charnons d'articulation situés sur lesdites première et seconde sections de ladite palette,
       caractérisée en ce que la palette comprend une pluralité de charnons d'articulation (38, 38', 88, 88') intégrés à un élément sous-jacent (59, 100) se trouvant en dessous dudit plancher de support de charge supérieur, et espacés le long de cet élément sous-jacent.
  2. Palette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle chaque section de ladite palette est pourvue d'une protubérance (62) située au centre et dépassant de la surface dudit plancher et destinée à recevoir une âme creuse d'un rouleau lorsque ledit rouleau est placé dans une position où il se dresse sur ledit plancher.
  3. Palette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle chaque section possède des éléments de pied (21 etc.) contigus aux dits éléments sous-jacents, lesdits éléments de pied étant placés en chaque coin de ladite section.
  4. Palette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle lesdits charnons d'articulation présentent des oeillets (42, 44 etc.) conçus pour recevoir une tige allongée destinée à assurer la relation de verrouillage réciproque desdits charnons.
  5. Palette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle la pluralité de charnons d'articulation (38, 38') prévus sur ledit élément sous-jacent (59) sont situés sur un côté contigu dudit élément sous-jacent.
  6. Palette selon la revendication 1, dans laquelle la pluralité de charnons d'articulation (98, 98', 98'') prévus sur ledit élément sous-jacent (100) sont situés sur le côté de ladite section de palette qui se trouve en dessous des charnons d'articulation (86, 86', 86'') sur ledit plancher de support de charge supérieur (90).
  7. Palette selon la revendication 6, dans laquelle chaque section de ladite palette est pourvue d'au moins une protubérance (62) dépassant de la surface dudit plancher et destinée à recevoir une âme creuse d'un rouleau lorsque ledit rouleau est placée dans une position où il se dresse sur ledit plancher.
  8. Palette selon la revendication 6, dans laquelle lesdits éléments de pied sont contigus aux dits éléments se trouvant en dessous dudit plancher de support.
  9. Palette selon la revendication 6, dans laquelle lesdits charnons d'articulation présentent des oeillets (42, 44 etc.) conçus pour recevoir une tige allongée (94) destinée à assurer la relation de verrouillage réciproque desdits charnons.
