Abstract

In order to compensate for the displacement force resulting from movement of the blades in a cutting device which consists of groups of blades, it is proposed, in the case of a cutting device which is provided with two groups of blades and in which the groups of blades can be moved in opposite directions, that the longer blades (11) of one group be guided in slots (14) in transverse lengths (4) of a clamping frame (1) of the shorter blades (8) of the other group. The group of longer blades (11) can be arranged in the same plane as the group of shorter blades (8) via the slots (14) provided in the transverse lengths (4) of the clamping frame (1) of the shorter blades (8), without the groups of blades driven in opposite directions or their clamping frames impeding one another. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a creel for cutting bacon, meat, sausage and the like goods with two groups of knives of different lengths arranged parallel and at equal intervals from one another. Each group of knives of the same length is clamped within a stenter frame made up of two cross legs and two longitudinal legs that keep these at a distance such that a longer knife in one group is followed by a shorter knife in the other group. The clamping frames are provided with at least one drive, by means of which the longer knives of one group can be moved in opposite directions to the shorter knives of the other group.

Such a gate is known from DE-A-145 710 for a bacon cube slicer. The knives of a group of knives, which work individually or in pairs in opposite directions of movement, are intended to facilitate the cutting of the bacon and thereby to avoid its lateral displacement. For the unobstructed reciprocation of the longer knives of one group, which inevitably protrude beyond the transverse legs of the tenter frame of the shorter knives of the other group, the two knife groups of the known gate are arranged in different, successive planes in the direction of advance. Even if the vertical distance between these planes does not have to be significantly larger than the flank width of the longer knives or the width of the cross legs to which the knives are attached in order to ensure an unobstructed back and forth movement, this arrangement causes that the first group of knives, whereupon the good to be cut, shifts it in one direction, while the second group of knives shifts the good to be cut in the other direction. Apart from the undesirable large back and forth displacements of the disks or strips of the material to be cut, there is a tendency that the second displacement overcompensates for the first, since the disks or strips are further subdivided by the second knife group in the direction of advance and therefore increasingly lose their inherent stiffness, which was already there and was already limited. If strips are then to be cut from the slices or cubes, these lack a geometric accuracy, which is regarded as a quality feature. Any back and forth movement of the material to be cut also impairs the cutting performance and ultimately also distorts the fibers of a sensitive material to be cut.

From US-A-2 036 403 a bread slicer is known which is also equipped with knives working in opposite directions of movement. While the knives of one group are moved in one direction, the knives of the other group are moved in the opposite direction. In this known cutting machine, however, the knives can only be removed and reassembled for cleaning and maintenance purposes with considerable effort.

The invention has for its object to form a gate of the type described in such a way that the displacement force resulting from the movement of each knife as a result of the friction between the flanks of the knife and the cut surfaces of the material to be cut is compensated directly by an opposing displacement force resulting from a simultaneous movement of the same size and speed of adjacent knives results, the gate being designed so that the clamping frame for the knives can be fitted with them in a simple manner and freed from them for cleaning and maintenance purposes.

To achieve this object, a gate of the generic type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1 is assumed, which according to the invention has the features specified in the characterizing part of claim 1.

Due to the slots provided in accordance with the distance between the longer knives in the transverse legs of the tenter frame of the shorter knives, the group of longer knives can be arranged in the same plane of the group of shorter knives without the counter-driven knife groups or their tenter frames being impeded. The slots in the transverse legs of the clamping frame of the shorter knives define cuboid projections that protrude into the spaces between the longer knives. These lend themselves, in turn, to be provided with a slot, in which a shorter knife with an end piece can be inserted and fixed by a clamping bolt crossing the slot, which sits in a bore in the cuboid projection. While the longer knives of one group could be held at their ends in slots in the cross legs of their tenter frame by a continuous clamping bolt crossing the slots, it is essential to pass the shorter knives of the other group at both ends in the slots of the cuboid projections to hold each knife for its own clamping bolts. A continuous clamping bolt common to the group of shorter knives would, on the other hand, cross the group of longer knives and require elongated openings in them for their unobstructed back and forth movement. Apart from the manufacturing effort required for this, the high clamping forces to which the knives are exposed prohibit such openings. The common guide frame for the knives of both groups ensures that all knives, regardless of their length in the slots of the cross legs of the guide frame, are sufficiently securely guided not only in the same plane, but also at the same length spacing, and thereby the longer knives maintain the same dimensional stability can like the shorter knives. Due to the composition of the guide frame from releasably connected The guide frame and thus the gate as a whole can be dismantled and reassembled in a simple manner, in particular for cleaning purposes. This facilitates the angular slots in the vicinity of the knife ends, as a result of which the knives can be connected in a bayonet-like manner to the locking bolts which cross the receiving slots in the transverse legs of the clamping frame.

According to one embodiment of the invention, the guide frame can be provided with bores in which the longitudinal legs of the clamping frame, which are designed as tensioning columns, can be pushed back and forth.

The guide frame, which preferably consists of two congruent, overlapping frame parts, can be fastened in a manner known per se at the outlet of a guide shaft of a cutting machine in such a way that it can be easily removed and dismantled together with the guide frame as a structural unit.

Depending on the space available and the need to combine the gate according to the invention with a gate of the same design so that the two knife groups of one gate cross with the two knife groups of the other gate to cut the material to be cut first into slices and then into strips , It can be advantageous to arrange the longitudinal legs of the two clamping frames, which are designed as clamping columns, in the plane of the knife groups next to one another or perpendicular to the plane of the knife groups one behind the other.

If the longitudinal limbs of both clamping frames are arranged one behind the other perpendicular to the plane of the knife groups, the transverse limbs of the clamping frame, to which the shorter knives are assigned, must protrude into the plane of the clamping frame, to which the longer knives are assigned, with a clamping area for the knives. As a result of the knife tension on the cross legs of the clamping frame of the shorter knives, a torque arises around the Longitudinal axis of this cross leg. To compensate for this torque, a further embodiment of the invention provides that each longitudinal leg of the tensioning frame of the shorter knife which is subjected to pressure is assigned a longitudinal leg which is also subjected to tension and is designed as a tensioning column. The longitudinal legs that are subjected to pressure are arranged in a plane that lies between the planes in which the longitudinal legs or the knives that are subjected to tension are arranged.

Finally, the two clamping frames of a gate can each be provided with an individual drive or else with a common drive. To transmit the driving force, one cross leg of each of the two clamping frames has a bearing eye into which a coupling pin of a crank mechanism or the like engages.

The gate essentially consists of a stenter 1 and a stenter 2 and a guide frame 3.

The tenter frame 1 is composed of two cross legs 4 and two legs 5 designed as variable-length tension columns. The clamping frame 1 arranged downstream of the clamping frame 1 in the direction of advance of the material to be cut consists of two transverse limbs 6 and two longitudinal limbs 7 which are likewise designed as variable-length clamping columns. The longitudinal limbs 7 of the clamping frame 2 protrude beyond the longitudinal limbs 5 of the clamping frame 1 at both ends.

The clamping frame 1 is equipped with knives 8, which are arranged at regular intervals distributed over the length of the cross legs 4 and are oriented perpendicularly to these, the knives 8 with end pieces being inserted into receiving slots 9 of the cross legs 4 and being held therein by locking bolts 10.

The clamping frame 2 is equipped with knives 11, which are also arranged perpendicularly to the knives 8 in a uniform distribution over the length of the cross legs 6, the knives in turn being inserted with end pieces into receiving slots 12 of the cross legs 6 and held therein by locking bolts 13 become.

Die Messer 11 überragen die Enden der Messer 8 und kreuzen folglich die Querschenkel 4 des Spannrahmens 1.The knives 11 protrude beyond the ends of the knives 8 and consequently cross the cross legs 4 of the clamping frame 1.

In order nevertheless to be able to arrange the knives 8 and 11 in the same plane, the cross legs 4 of the clamping frame 1 are provided in the intersection area of the knives 11 with slots 14 through which the knives 11 can be moved freely.

The guide frame 3 which can be connected to a cutting machine (not shown) crosses the knives 8 and 11 with two cross legs 15, which is why the cross legs 15 are also provided with slots 16 for the knives 8 and 11. The guide frame 3 is equipped with bores 17, in which the cylindrical longitudinal legs 5 and 7 of the clamping frame 1 and 2 can be moved up and down.

Each clamping frame 1, 2 is provided with a bearing eye 18 and 19, in which a coupling pin of a crank mechanism, not shown, can be inserted.

Since the longitudinal legs 5 of the tenter frame 1 are not arranged in the same plane as the longitudinal legs 7 of the tenter frame 2, but in the feed direction of the material to be cut, the transverse legs 4 of the tenter frame 1 project into the plane of the tenter frame 2 with a longitudinal half so that the locking bolts 10 of the knives 8 lie in the same plane as the locking bolts 13 of the knives 11.

Each longitudinal leg 5 of the clamping frame 1 which is subjected to pressure due to the knife tension is on its side facing away from the knives 8 additional, also cylindrical longitudinal leg 5 'assigned, which is stressed in train. As a result, the cross legs 4 are prevented from rotating about their longitudinal axis with increasing knife tension.

As can be seen in FIG. 4, the guide frame 3 is composed of two frame parts 20 and 21, which are detachably held together by screws 22 arranged in the corner regions. The screws 22 are screwed into threaded bores 23 of a lead frame 24 and thereby fix the gate as a whole on the housing of a cutting machine, not otherwise shown.
