Description

The present invention relates to a tray for storing lighting lamps, consisting of a plate, the position of use is horizontal, which carries a plurality of individual housings for storing a lamp in each housing, the size of a housing individual being of the order of magnitude of that of a lamp base, so that a lamp base can freely enter a housing but not an entire lamp.

Such a tray is used in particular for the handling and / or delivery of lamps. It has the advantage of being as much a handling tray, that is to say a manufacturing tool, as a packaging component for the delivery of lamps in bulk. The same tray can be used by the lamp manufacturer on its production line and by its customer, for example an automobile manufacturer, on a vehicle lamp mounting station. In addition, the trays can be used a large number of times.

A tray according to the above preamble is known from patent application DE-A-1 163 237. The tray described by this document is made of two trays welded together, and has external side walls with support points located so that two trays can be stacked without penetrating into each other, that is to say without crushing the lamps it contains. This tray is suitable for handling and transporting lamps whose surface of the bulb is fragile, for example because it is covered with a colored varnish. Such lamps are now used in the automobile to obtain colored lights, with an external glassware which does not have the same color.

The invention provides a tray which has the same advantages when in use, and which can furthermore be molded in one piece.

A handling tray according to the invention is remarkable in that that the plate is provided with wings which are perpendicular to it and which are situated at a distance from the edge of the plate, in order to maintain a determined spacing between the plates when several plates are stacked.

In a tray according to the invention, a row of housings is advantageously present between a wing and the edge of the plate.

The plate being located at the height of the top of the housings (it is of course at the top in the position of use) and provided with orifices for the passage of the lamp bases, it is advantageously provided with wings on each of its faces, the wings extending over both sides in intersecting directions.

The upper wings are shorter and therefore more rigid than if the plate were at the bottom of the housings. In addition, due to the crossed directions of the wings, the upper wings of a tray support the lower wings of the tray which is on it, when the trays are stacked.

The wings are advantageously provided with notches on their free edge to receive there, when trays are stacked, the free edge of a wing belonging to another tray.

This avoids the risk of lateral sliding relative to each other of the stacked trays.

The entire tray is advantageously molded in plastic in one piece.

The wings which are situated on the same side of the plate as the housings advantageously form bridges between adjacent housings.

This saves material for molding the tray and in addition the rigidity of the tray is improved.

The housing section is advantageously decreasing from their orifice towards their bottom.

This allows both easier introduction of the bases of the lamps into the housings and good hold of the bases once they have been inserted.

The storage lamps have bases fitted with lugs. It is therefore necessary to provide in the housing a lateral passage for these pins. Vertical grooves dug in the wall of the housings would allow it, but that would require looking for the suitable position to introduce the lamp so that the pins are facing the grooves, and in addition the position of the grooves would be specific for a type of lamp. .

It is therefore advantageous that, the housings being of generally circular section, their wall is provided inside with radial ribs which extend over the entire depth of the housing.

These ribs come into contact with the cylindrical wall of a base while leaving a passage between the ribs for the pins, and this practically whatever the arrangement of the pins.

It is also advantageous for other radial ribs to extend only over part of the wall situated at the bottom of the housing, and for said bottom to be open.

These ribs serve as a stop at the bottom of the housing to support the lamps, costing less material than a solid bottom, with a mold for making the plate simpler. In addition, the open bottom makes it possible to visually check the welds at the base of the lamps once they are in place in the tray.

The description which follows, with reference to the appended drawings describing nonlimiting examples will make it clear how the invention can be implemented.

Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of a tray according to the invention.

Figure 2 is a bottom view of one end of a tray.

The tray of Figure 1 is provided for storing lighting lamps 3, for example "stop" or flashing automobile lamps with a power of 21 watts. It consists of a plate 1 whose position of use is horizontal, which carries a plurality of individual housings 2 for storing a lamp in each of them. The whole of this tray is molded in plastic in one piece.

The individual housings 2 (in general, when there are multiple elements, only a few bear references to simplify the figure) are of generally circular section and their dimension is of the order of magnitude that of a base of lamp 3, so that a base can freely enter a housing with its pins 29, without forcing but also without excessive play. The housings are located under the plate 1, that is to say that the latter is placed at the height of the top of the housings. The lamps can be introduced into the housings through orifices 23. The reference 4 indicates a lamp stored in a housing. The horizontal distance between two neighboring housings is such that the varnished bulb of a lamp cannot touch that of the neighbor. The bulb cannot touch any part of the tray either.

The plate 1 is provided with wings 5, 6 which are perpendicular to it, that is to say that they are vertical in the position of use, and which extend in a direction indicated by an arrow 24. These wings, when two trays are stacked, maintain a sufficient distance between the plates to prevent the underside of the upper tray from touching a bulb stored in the lower tray. Figure 2 shows that the underside of the plate is also provided with wings 7, 9, 10, 12, which extend in a direction indicated by an arrow 25. The arrows 24 and 25 have directions that intersect.

The upper wings 5, 6 are provided with notches 13, 14 on their free edge. When another tray is placed on top, these notches receive the lower edge of a wing 7 or 12 of the other tray, which prevents any sliding in the direction of arrow 24.

Some lower wings 7, 12 are provided with notches 15, 16 on their free edge. When the plate is placed on another plate, these notches are astride the upper edge of a wing 5, 6 of the other plate, which prevents any sliding in the direction of arrow 25.

Figure 2 shows that the wings 7 to 12 each form a bridge which connects two adjacent housings, and thus connect all the housings from that 26 located near one edge of the plate to that 27 located near the other edge.

La figure 3 montre que la section des logements est décroissante à partir de leur orifice 23 vers leur fond 28.FIG. 3 shows that the section of the housings decreases from their orifice 23 towards their bottom 28.

The wall of the housings is provided inside with radial ribs 17, 18, 19 which extend over the entire depth of the housing, and other radial ribs 20, 21, 22 which extend only over a part of the wall located at the bottom of the housing. The ribs 17, 18, 19 come into contact with the cylindrical wall of a lamp base by favoring, by the shape of their edge, the passage of the pins 29. The ribs 20, 21, 22 serve to perfect the centering of the lamp at bottom of housing. The ribs 17, 18, 19 are less prominent than the ribs 20, 21, 22, at least at the bottom of the housing, so that the circular section of a lamp base can pass between the three edges of the ribs 17, 18, 19, while on the contrary this same circular section must abut on the top of the ribs 20, 21, 22. An additional support is also constituted by the ribs 17, 18, 19 at the bottom of the housing, in order to completely isolate the bulb from any contact with it.
