Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a wristwatch case comprising a middle fitted to receive a movement surmounted by a dial and hands to indicate the time, a crystal and a background fixed to the middle and a bracelet comprising first and second strands attached to said middle respectively at 6 o'clock and at 12 o'clock.
  • the middle part has a generally rectangular shape and is formed, on the one hand, by wings extending in the extension of the bottom from two opposite sides of the bottom respectively in zones 6 and 12 o'clock, and on the other hand by two parallel longitudinal walls extending under two longitudinal edges of the glass in zones 3 and 9 o'clock. These wings are made in one piece with a bottom and form the parts of the middle part to which are fixed, via connecting parts, the bracelet strands.
  • Document US-A-2 367 091 describes a protective element or cap covering, by its central part, the bottom of a watch case with which the cap is associated.
  • This cap is in no way a functional and constitutive part of the watch case and has two wings along the box only in order to fix this cap on it.
  • the invention relates to a watch case according to claim 1, to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks.
  • FIG. 1 shows the general appearance of the watch according to the invention.
  • a crystal 5 a dial 3 and hands 4.
  • a base 6 is made in one piece with a wing 9 which rises along the side of a middle carrying a movement, the middle and the movement do not not being visible here.
  • FIG. 1 shows that a strand 7 of a bracelet, respectively a strand 8, are fixed to the wristwatch, pieces in the shape of a stirrup or end pieces 18 being interposed between the ends of the strands 7 and 8 and the watch -bracelet.
  • FIGs 2, 3 and 4 which respectively show a plan view along arrow II of Figure 1, and sections along lines III-III and IV-IV of the same Figure 1, we sees that the watch has a middle 12 arranged to receive a movement 2. The movement is surmounted by a dial 3 and hands 4 to indicate the time. A crystal 5 and a bottom 6 are fixed to the middle 12. A first strand 7 of the bracelet is fixed at 6 o'clock in the middle 12, as seen in FIG. 4. A second strand 8, not shown in FIG. 4 ( see figure 1), is set at 12 o'clock in the middle 12.
  • the base 6 entirely covers the underside of the middle part 12 and comprises first and second wings made in one piece with it, these wings covering at least entirely the outer sides 11 which the middle part has.
  • the bottom 6 is shown in plan in Figure 5 and the middle 12 is also shown in plan in Figure 8. If we superimpose Figure 8 and Figure 5, we see that the bottom 6 completely covers the underside of the middle 12.
  • Figures 5 and 6 show that the bottom 6 has a first wing 9 and a second wing 10 made in one piece with the bottom.
  • the wing 9 completely covers the side 11 of the middle part 12, as seen in FIG. 3 and as also seen by superimposing FIG. 8 and FIG. 5 as well as FIG. 10 and FIG. 6.
  • the wing 10 also completely covers the side 11 of the middle 12 although this is not shown in the drawing, FIG. 8 showing only a quarter between 3 and 6 o'clock of the middle 12. It should be noted that only the outer sides 11 of the middle which are located between the end pieces 18 are covered by the wings 9 and 10 of the base 6, that is to say, as can be seen in FIG. 1, the sides situated in the 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock zones .
  • Figure 3 shows that the first wing 9 is covered by the glass 5, the latter projecting from the middle part 12. This same figure shows that a slight clearance is left between the wing 9 and the glass 5, this to absorb the differences that we see in the dimensions of the bottom especially if the latter is made of molded-sintered material, such as ceramic for example. Likewise, care will be taken to provide a fairly strong rounded shape on the edge 31 of the wing 9 so that the space between the wing and the glass is as invisible as possible.
  • Figure 12 shows a construction variant compared to that presented in Figure 3. We see in Figure 12 that the wing 9 covers the side 13 of the glass 5, so that the side of ice is located flush with the side outside 11 of middle part 12.
  • Figures 2, 4, 8 and 9 show that the middle part 12 is provided at 6 o'clock with an extension 14 extending in the longitudinal direction of the strand 7.
  • the middle part 12 is also provided at 12 o'clock d 'an extension 15 extending in the longitudinal direction of the strand 8.
  • the extensions 14 and 15 serve to attach the strands to the middle part, as seen in Figure 4.
  • the extension 14 is covered by an element or end piece 18 in the form of a stirrup which is shown alone in FIG. 11. This element is slid over the extension 14 before the strand 7 itself is assembled.
  • the end of the extension 14 carries a hinge 32 on which is hinged a plate 33 provided with hinges and arranged to receive a first link 34 of the strand 7, mobile that one.
  • Figures 4, 5 and 7 show that the bottom 6 also includes extensions 16 and 17 which at least partially cover the extensions 14 and 15 of the middle part 12. These extensions 16 and 17 take place between the ends 35 and 36 presented by l 'caliper 18 ( Figure 11), the caliper 18 covering the rest of the extensions of the middle which are not covered by the extensions of the bottom.
  • the bottom 6 is fixed to the middle part 12 by screws 19 (FIG. 4) passing through passages 20 made in the extensions 16 and 17 of the bottom 6, these screws being screwed into threads 21 made in the extensions 14 and 15 of the middle part 12 (see also Figures 2, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9).
  • the crystal 5 is fixed to the middle part 12 by gluing or welding ( Figures 3 and 4). To retract this fixing means and at the same time the top of the middle part, a metallization 37 is affixed under the glass.
  • a casing circle 22 is interposed between the movement 2 and the middle 12 (see also Figures 3 and 4). Movement 2 is carried by the net 41 which it presents, a net which rests in a housing 40 of the circle 22.
  • a lining 23 is compressed between the bottom 6 and a housing 24 formed both in the circle 22 and in the middle 12 (see FIGS. 8, 9 and 10).
  • the middle part also has a flange 25 made in one piece with it. Under the flange 25 presses the dial 3 when the base 6 is fixed to the middle part 12 by means of the screws 19. The casing takes place from below.
  • the watch of the invention is easy to manufacture and has a very light appearance although having a strong armor resistant to scratches, provided of course that the back with its wings is made in hard metal or ceramic whose hardness exceeds or is equal to 1000 HV.
  • the links of the strands of the bracelet will preferably be made of the same material as that used for the background.
  • the proposed construction is economical, above all by the way of making the base in a hard and brittle material, this base covering the middle by going up along its sides, the mechanical and sealing functions being fulfilled by the middle. made of metal.
