Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a folder mechanism with a base plate made of sheet metal, two row pins protruding perpendicularly from one another on the base plate, a pivoting bracket that can be pivoted to a limited extent on the base plate between an open position and a closed position, preferably a folding bracket consisting of a bent metal wire, and a bearing plate projecting over the base plate and an actuating lever which is pivotally mounted on a bearing journal which is formed on the end shield and projects vertically above the end shield plane and which is secured against axial pulling thereon and acts directly or indirectly on the folding bracket.
Folder mechanisms of this type are intended for use in letter folders which have a file spine and a front and back cover articulated on the file spine, preferably made of stiff cardboard material. The folder mechanism is riveted to the back cover near the folder back or fastened in a connector provided for this purpose. In the conventional file mechanisms, the actuating lever is pivotally mounted in the upper region of the end shield on a rivet bolt which is inserted through a bore in the end shield and the lever and is secured against axial pulling off by a setting head and a rivet head. The rivet bolt is an additional part that complicates the assembly and makes the end product more expensive, which is especially the case with a mass product such as the folder mechanism adversely affects.
Furthermore, a folder mechanism of the type specified at the outset is known (LU-A-38998), which has a bearing plate with a molded bearing journal for the actuating lever. The end shield is an additional part made of plastic that is riveted to the base plate. This complicates the assembly and increases the cost of the end product, which is perceived as a disadvantage, particularly in the case of mass products such as file mechanisms.
Proceeding from this, the object of the invention is to develop a folder mechanism of the type specified at the outset, which is particularly simple and efficient to produce.
To achieve this object, the combination of features specified in claim 1 is proposed. Further advantageous refinements and developments of the invention result from the dependent claims.
The invention is based on the idea that if the separate rivet bolt or the separate end shield as the bearing means is omitted, a considerable simplification in the storage and in the manufacture can be achieved. In order to achieve this, it is proposed according to the invention that the bearing journal in the form of a preferably deep-drawn hollow journal is molded into the bearing plate which is made of sheet metal and is integrally connected to the base plate. The hollow journal can be used both as a journal and as a bearing bush to be used.
An advantageous embodiment of the invention provides that the actuating lever has a bearing bore encompassing the bearing journal, and that the free hollow journal end projecting beyond the bearing borehole has a radially projecting flanged edge that overlaps the bearing bore rim of the actuating lever.
According to a further preferred embodiment of the invention, a bearing pin, which extends through the hollow pin opening, is formed on the actuating lever and has a radial widening or thickening at its end projecting beyond the hollow pin opening to secure it axially having. The widening or thickening of the bearing journal can be formed either by elastic or plastic expansion of the preferably slotted journal material or as a rivet head integrally formed on the bearing journal in the course of assembly. If, according to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the actuating lever consists of thermoplastic plastic, the rivet head can be molded on at the end of the bearing journal under the action of pressure and heat.
Advantageously, the bearing journal formed on the actuating lever is inserted through the hollow journal from its side projecting beyond the plane of the end shield. The part of the hollow pin projecting beyond the end plate level expediently also engages in an annular bearing recess in the actuating lever, so that there is a stable mounting of the actuating lever on the end plate.
A further improvement in this regard is achieved in that the actuating lever has a contact surface which lies flat against a guide surface of the end shield in the vicinity of the hollow pin.
In order to avoid a risk of injury on the burr end shield, it is advantageous if a cover part, which preferably encompasses the part-circular top and / or the hollow pin, is formed on the actuating lever.
