Description

Technisches GebietTechnical field

The invention relates to a device for storing and possibly transporting workpieces, with at least one tubular container which has at least one receiving space for a workpiece, which can be introduced into the container through a loading opening.

Devices of this type are required in in-house material flow systems, for the intermediate storage of workpieces in machining centers in which the individual stations work at different cycle rates, and for transport between different operating sites, and are known in a wide variety of embodiments.

Stand derState of Techniktechnology

Now it is often necessary to wash workpieces with a washing fluid, e.g., before a machining operation, before being temporarily stored or before being transported to another facility. cleaning a liquid or otherwise treating the surface of the workpieces, for example painting the surface, sandblasting or subjecting the surface to a heat treatment.

For the cleaning of workpieces, washing systems are generally currently used which have a basin into which a multiplicity of workpieces is placed, held by a carrier element, for example a mesh basket. The car washes currently used are not just that complex and thus expensive, but usually also require a large amount of cleaning fluid, so that they hardly work economically, especially in prototype production or in the production of small lot sizes. An example of such a single-purpose washing system, which is intended exclusively for instruments, is described in US Pat. No. 3,101,729, on which the preamble of claim 1 is based. This device is also not suitable for transporting or storing the instruments.

In addition, in order to carry out the washing process, it is necessary to remove the workpiece from an intermediate store, insert it into the carrier element, then remove it again from the carrier element and insert it into the same or a different intermediate store. This process requires a large amount of work, which is difficult to automate, particularly in the case of small batch sizes, so that comparatively large costs arise, which often exceed the costs for the actual cleaning fluid many times over.

The same applies to painting, sandblasting or other surface processing operations in which the surface is subjected, for example, to heat treatment by hot air.

The invention is based on the object of developing a device for the surface treatment of workpieces in such a way that workpieces can be processed economically and with a low outlay on processing fluid without expensive special systems, such as washing or painting systems.

An inventive solution to this problem is specified in claim 1.

To achieve the object, the invention is based on the basic idea that, for the reasons explained at the outset, it is often necessary to temporarily store or transport the workpieces in special containers. Tubular containers are used in a number of cases, since a large number of such tubular containers can be easily handled and stored, for example in the form of coils or honeycombs. It is expressly pointed out that in the context of this description a tubular container is also understood to mean a container with an inner and / or outer contour that deviates from the circular shape. For example, the container can also have a hexagonal cross section.

According to the invention it has now been recognized that such tubular or tubular containers can easily be modified so that they are suitable for flushing with the processing fluid "in the flow". For this purpose, the tubular container designed according to the invention - regardless of whether the tubular container can be opened for loading and unloading or whether the container is loaded via one or both end faces - has an opening in one end face of the container to which the processing device which supplies the machining fluid, is dockable, so that the machining fluid enters through this opening. This opening can be in particular the loading opening for the workpieces in the case of containers which can be loaded at the end (claim 4), while it is an additional opening in the case of hinged containers.

In the other face it is independent of whether the Tubes are loaded by opening or through an end face, an outlet opening for the fluid is provided, to which a fluid drain can be attached. The outlet opening can be this removal opening in the case of containers which are “fed” in the passage, ie in which the workpiece is introduced through an opening in one end face and removed through a removal opening in the other end face, so that it is not necessary in this case there should be any additional openings in the containers.

With this design, the tubular container (s), which is already present in devices for storing (usually also simply a tube), is developed in such a way that the workpiece stored in it can be processed with a flowing fluid without removal from the tube. The device according to the invention can thus be integrated in machining centers in which the workpieces are machined with a specific machine cycle, for cleaning the workpieces in the machine cycle. Due to this integration in the machining center, it is not a problem if the washing time required for cleaning all workpieces takes a relatively long time compared to washing in a wire mesh box, for example.

The processing device, which has at least one fluid outlet connection for connecting at least one tube, can, for example, be a washing device which provides a washing liquid, a cleaning gas and / or a granulate (claim 3). It is preferred if, in addition to the cleaning fluid, which in particular can be any conventional washing liquid, the washing device according to claim 7 also has at least one further fluid, for example a rinsing liquid, with a fluid a different temperature and / or a drying fluid or gas, such as (hot) compressed air (claim 7), so that the workpiece is also dried.

Of course, the processing device can also be any other fluid processing device that emits, for example, a spray jet, a sandblast or a hot air jet. It is expressly pointed out that in the context of this description the term fluid not only means liquids, but also gases and granules, etc.

In any case, the design according to the invention makes it possible to also treat the surface of the workpiece in the tubular container in which the workpiece is already stored for other reasons, for example for intermediate storage or for transport. Since the workpiece must already be placed in the container for the reasons mentioned, no additional handling operation of the workpiece is required to carry out the surface treatment process.

In addition, the use of machining fluid is low, since the containers for the workpiece holder are designed, for example, for reasons of storage space, in such a way that they enclose the workpiece comparatively closely.

The device according to the invention thus not only has the advantage that the respective machining process can be carried out economically with little handling effort and material use, but also the advantage that the workpiece remains in place during all machining processes, so that the risk of workpiece damage is low.

In addition, for example, the inner surfaces of the container are also "washed" during a washing process, so that an additional cleaning process for the container is not necessary. In the development specified in claim 15, in which the washing device has a further tube which is movable over the first tube or the receiving tube, it is also possible that in addition to cleaning the workpieces located in the first tube and the inner tube wall the outer tube wall is cleaned.

Bei geeigneter Ausbildung der Bearbeitungseinrichtung kann sich diese dann selbsttätig an den jeweils in ihren Bereich überführten Behälter andocken, so daß mit geringem Aufwand unter Verwendung vorhandener Elemente der Speichereinrichtung ein vollautomatischer Bearbeitungsvorgang realisiert werden kann (Anspruch 13).Above all, however, a possibly already existing feed of the storage device, for example a winding, cassette or honeycomb storage device that advances the individual containers of the storage device, can be used to successively move the individual containers not only into the area of a loading and unloading station , but also to advance into the area of the processing device. With a suitable design of the processing device, it can then automatically dock onto the container transferred into its area, so that a fully automatic processing process can be implemented with little effort using existing elements of the storage device (claim 13).

In another embodiment specified in claim 14, which is particularly advantageous for tubes combined to form a honeycomb, several or all tubes can be connected to the processing device at the same time in such a way that the workpieces located in the pipes connected to the processing device are simultaneously with the processing fluid are acted upon.

In order to prevent discharge of the workpiece through the removal opening due to the flowing machining fluid, in particular when the workpiece is inserted through one end side and removed through the other end side, it is furthermore advantageous according to claim 5 if a termination or Locking element can be used, which prevents the workpiece from being carried away by the machining fluid. This closure element can in particular be a grid (claim 6).

In order to further improve the machining process and in particular a cleaning process, it is preferred according to claim 9 if guide devices, such as guide plates, are provided in the container for guiding the machining fluid. These control devices can in particular cause a turbulent flow or a rotation of the fluid. These flow effects can be further enhanced by a pulsating flow of the fluid.

Furthermore, it is possible for the container or containers to carry out an intermittent movement and / or to rotate about at least one axis after the machining fluid has been introduced (claims 10 and 11, respectively). For this purpose, the container can in particular be designed such that it can be temporarily separated from the processing device without the fluid running out of the container.

Furthermore, it is possible according to claim 12 that the outer shape of the container is optimized with regard to heat exchange with the environment. This can play a role in particular if a subsequent processing or drying process takes place, for example, in an oven.

Beschreibung von AusführungsbeispielenDescription of exemplary embodiments

In the figures, the machining process is a cleaning process without restricting the general inventive concept. Of course, other processing operations such as painting, sandblasting etc. are also possible.

Figur 1 zeigt ein Ausführungsbeispiel der Erfindung, bei dem (mindestens) ein rohrförmiger Behälter 1 vorgesehen ist, der durch eine Stirnseite mit wenigstens einem Werkstück beladen (Figur 3) und durch die andere Stirnseite entladen (Figur 4) werden kann.FIG. 1 shows an exemplary embodiment of the invention in which (at least) one tubular container 1 is provided, which can be loaded with at least one workpiece through one end face (FIG. 3) and unloaded through the other end face (FIG. 4).

A washing device 2 can be docked onto the loading opening in one end face and has three inlet connections 7, 8 and 9, for example for a cleaning agent, a detergent and a drying agent, such as hot air, etc. A changeover valve 4 is provided for switching between the individual fluid inlet connections. At the outlet opening of the container 1 there is a closure element 3, which on the one hand serves to receive the fluid after it has passed through the container 1 and, for example, to pass it to an outlet. In the end element 3, a grid 6 is additionally inserted, which prevents the fluid from carrying the workpiece 5 out of the container.

For loading the container 1 with a workpiece 5, the washing device 2 can be removed (FIG. 3), while the end element 3 is designed to be removable for removing the workpiece 5 from the container 1 (FIG. 4).

Figure 2 shows a second embodiment of the invention, in which the container 1 is divided and has two halves 1a and 1b. Again, an inlet and an outlet for the cleaning fluid are provided in the end faces of the container. The washing device shown in FIG. 1 can be docked to the inlet; in the outlet, next to the grille 6, which prevents the workpiece 5 from being carried out, there is an outlet, also not shown in FIG. 2, which allows the fluid to be collected.

The invention has been described above using an exemplary embodiment without restricting the general inventive concept, within which, of course, the most varied modifications are possible:

For example, only one processing device and a tubular container are shown in the figures. The basic ideas according to the invention can of course also be applied to devices for storage in which a multiplicity of tubular containers are present, that is to say, for example, in winding, cassettes and / or honeycomb stores. The processing device can have one container or several or all containers be connected at the same time. If necessary, several machining devices can also be present in order to be able to carry out one machining operation or several machining operations simultaneously on several workpieces:

For example, in a device in which a series of tubes are provided which feed a feed unit, it is possible for one tube in each case to be located in the area of a washing device and one tube, the contents of which have already been washed, in the area of a drying device. The individual processing devices are preferably designed so that the processing device automatically connects to the respective tube.
