  • the taker-in 3 takes the fibres off the fibre introducer 1 by combing them and the taker-in is stripped by the main cylinder 5 which is faster.
  • the doffer 9 - which rotates with the fibres in the opposite direction to the second doffer 17 of the second card C2 - meets the main cylinder 11 of the second card C2 with the teeth turned forwards and therefore the main cylinder 11 creates a carding action and picks up the parallelised and spaced-out fibres, taking them to meet with the flats 13 and with the doffer 17 of the second card C2.
