Definitions
- the present invention relates to an electrical connector.
- the invention relates to a connector comprising a first female housing element in which are housed male or female electrical contact members, for example, elastic clips connected to electrical conductors, the tongues or printed circuits, a second housing element.
- male intended to engage in the female housing element and comprising a series of channels intended to each contain an electrical contact member intended to cooperate with an electrical contact member of the first female housing element to ensure an electrical connection, locking means being provided for blocking the electrical contact members in the channels.
- One of the aims of the present invention is to remedy these various drawbacks.
- the connector, object of the invention is of the type comprising a female housing element intended to contain male or female electrical contact members, a male housing element intended to engage in the element of female housing and comprising a series of channels each intended to receive a male or female electrical contact member intended to each cooperate with a corresponding electrical contact member housed in the female housing element, means being provided for blocking and locking the male or female electrical contact members housed in the channels of the male housing element bearing against a surface thereof and is in particular characterized in that said means comprise a locking key guided on the male housing element and having a series of elastic tabs each provided with a lug intended to pass through a corresponding slot in one of the walls of the male housing element and opening into a corresponding channel, each lug being intended to abut against the reach of a corresponding electrical contact member housed in each channel, means being provided for wedging said c lef on the male housing element.
- the locking key is slid so that the pins, by crossing the slots, cooperate with the bearing surfaces of the electrical contact members to ensure correct positioning of these and at the same time lock them. It is understood that if a contact member is defective or improperly placed, the key cannot be locked.
- the male housing element comprises guide means for the locking key and means for pre-locking said key so that it can be held in a position in which the lugs of the elastic tongues do not are not yet engaged in the slots.
- the locking key being, in advance, fixed on the male housing element.
- the male housing element comprises laterally on each side, near its end opposite to that intended to engage in the female housing element, a stud and behind said stud two ramps located on the side and on the other side thereof, the ramps, at their end adjacent to the stud and on their face turned opposite one another comprising a hook
- the locking key has the general shape of a U the core of which comprises elastic tongues
- the wings each have two elastic tabs intended to cooperate with the opposite faces of each of the ramps and provided with hooks corresponding to those of said ramps, said tabs comprising, on their face opposite one another, a boss intended to bear against the nipple when the hooks are engaged, in the pre-locking position of the key, and a notch intended contain the pin and which corresponds to the locking position.
- the bosses limit the engagement of the locking key on the male box element so that said key occupies the pre-locking position, said bosses with the notches facilitating the locking of the key.
- each channel comprises, on its wall opposite to that provided with the slot intended to be crossed by the lug of the elastic tongue, an elastic bar provided with a retaining stop intended to cooperate with a corresponding range of the corresponding electrical contact member housed in said channel.
- each electrical contact member is held at two points.
- the male box element comprises, in line with each slot intended to be crossed by a lug of an elastic tongue of the locking key, a compartment opening on the side of the key, the wall of which opposite to that provided of the slot present, on the side of the opening of the compartment through which the corresponding tongue is introduced, a first part, the distance separating it from the wall provided with the slot corresponds substantially to the height of the tongue and its lug and, on the side opposite to said opening, a second part brought closer to said wall and corresponding substantially to the thickness of the tongue so that the latter, when the lug crosses the slot, cannot be lifted.
- the female housing element comprises a loop provided with an internal hook, while the locking key is provided with a locking tab, itself provided with a hook, intended to cooperate with the internal hook of the loop for locking the male housing element in the female housing element.
- the locking key comprises on the side opposite to the tongues a movable flap. Thanks to this arrangement, it is possible to hide the entrances to the channels, which is advantageous when using electrical connection members of the "flag" type, that is to say in which the conductors extend in a perpendicular direction. to the direction of these bodies.
- the flap came from molding with the locking key and is hingedly connected to the soul of the latter by flexible tabs, said flap comprising members conjugated with corresponding members of the male element in order to '' secure it in the closed position.
- the edge of the flap opposite to that provided with flexible tabs has at least one notch intended to cooperate, in the closed position of the flap, with a lug of the male element, while the edge of the flap adjacent to the flexible tabs is provided with at least one lug intended, in the closed position of the flap, to cooperate with a bearing of the core thereof. Thanks to this arrangement, the flap is perfectly maintained in its closed position.
