Claims (5)

  1. A connection terminal for at least one electric wire, the terminal including a metal component held in a housing in a box (14) and disposed to form at least one connection unit having the general appearance of a convex hexagon which is slit along one of its diagonal planes about which it is symmetrical for the purpose of connection to a single electric wire via the two wire-stripping and wire-retaining slits (5, 6) that lie in said diagonal plane of symmetry of the unit, said unit including two essentially plane support sides (7, 8) disposed parallel to the diagonal plane of symmetry of the unit and projecting from a stationary common base (1), each of the two support sides carrying two other sides (9 to 12) of the hexagon at its ends, said other sides sloping relative thereto, each slit being formed between two of said symmetrical sides (9 and 11 or 10 and 12) about the diagonal plane carried by two different support sides, and being provided with a flared opening with sharp edges for stripping a wire, the two openings of a unit being situated at the end of the slit furthest from the base thereof, and a unit is also symmetrical about a midplane perpendicular to the diagonal plane of symmetry and common to its two support sides, each of said two support sides (7, 8) bearing against one of the walls (15, 16) parallel thereto of the housing via a corresponding symmetrically disposed projection (17, 18; 27, 28) lying on the common midplane of symmetry and extending transversely towards the common base of the unit either from the support side that holds it, or from the wall of the housing where said support side bears.

  3. A connection terminal according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the symmetrical projections (17, 18) are disposed on the outsides of the support sides (7, 8) of the connection unit, at least in the portions thereof furthest from the base (1).

A connection terminal according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the symmetrical projections (27, 28) are formed on those walls (15B, 16B) of the housing for the connection unit that are designed to be parallel to the support sides (7B, 8B) of a connection unit and on either side of said unit.
  5. A connection terminal according to claims 1 to 4, characterized in that each connection unit is obtained by cutting and folding a plane metal blank together with the component of which it forms a part.
