Definitions
- the invention relates to a connection device using a socket with at least one permanently connected supply cable for several services, the conductors of which are led to a built-in contact device which has an accessible multipole plug connection, a free space being present between the cover of the socket and the built-in contact device and the socket can be closed with a blind cap and a connection to a multi-core connecting cable is provided.
- connection device of this type is known from US-A-4,756,695.
- the blind cap is removed and an adapter part is inserted into the built-in contact device, the front side of this adapter part protruding through a corresponding opening in a front cap to be inserted and there is accessible for a plug connection.
- the connection cable leading to the respective subscriber device is intercepted by the plug attached to the end of this cable.
- the disadvantage of this arrangement consists essentially in the fact that a large number of different inserts (adapters) must be used, because not only are different plugs used, but also different assignments and polarities have to be adapted by correspondingly switched boards in the respective inserts .
- the invention has for its object to improve a connection device in such a way that as simple as possible universal connection for all services to the leading a subscriber connecting cable is created.
- this object is achieved with a connecting device of the type mentioned in that the connecting cable is guided at one end to the blind cap of the socket and intercepted there in a plug that the plug under locking in the Blind cap is held and that on the blind cap designed as a structural unit, can be subsequently inserted contact device is attached, which can be connected on one side to the conductor of the connecting cable and the second side is designed so that it can be plugged into the built-in multi-pin plug connection.
- the further contact device serves to connect any consumer, for which it can be connected to the individual conductors of the connecting cable via plug connectors.
- the connection conditions desired for the respective connection can thus be achieved by simply attaching the plug connector to the end of the conductor of the connection cable.
- the further contact device designed as a unit is expediently designed in the same way for all possible applications, the desired selective connection conditions being ensured in a simple manner by producing correspondingly specific connections with the wires of the connecting cable. Since the strain relief of the connection cable takes place on the plug, which is already present as a closure on the blind cap, no special effort is also necessary for this.
- the plug can, if it is used to cover the opening in an empty box, remain there after being upgraded with a contact device and take over the strain relief of the connecting cable. A different cover would have to be thrown away after the upgrade.
- a supply cable SC is provided, the conductors of which are led to a contact device PU, which is designed as a plug-in unit and in the back of a e.g. in a wall permanently installed junction box PD is inserted and held there by notches.
- the plug device PU is accessible in the installed state from the right, that is to say the front side of the socket PD, it being assumed in the present example that the socket PD can accommodate two such contact devices (the lower one is omitted to simplify the illustration).
- the built-in contact device PU Since the installation is normally carried out at a time when the respective connection conditions are not yet decided in later use, the built-in contact device PU has as many connections as are necessary for the respective services, for example for a telephone connection or for a telex connection and / or for integrated services such as ISDN.
- connection box PD is closed with a blind cap BF, which has two latching devices SN on the side, with which it can e.g. behind the projections on both side walls of the socket PD (visible only the projection VS on the right side) comes into engagement and is detachably held there.
- a blind cap can have, for example, the shape of the cap BE, that is to say represent a rectangular flat body which, if necessary, has a e.g. has rectangular opening OP, which in turn can be closed again by an insert ST in a rectangular shape.
- the blind cap is initially designed without further contact or connection devices; it only serves to mechanically close the front opening of the PD socket.
- the socket FD can also be covered by a front plate frame, which is designated PF in the present example and can be fastened to corresponding tabs LA1 and LA2 by means of screws SR1 and SR2.
- the blind cap BF it is indicated in the present example that it is possible to convert the blind cap BF into a connector by subsequently attaching a contact device BC, which is used to connect a connecting cable AC that is connected to a corresponding consumer, e.g. Phone or other news device leads.
- the dash-dotted connection cable AC is held in the plug ST, which in turn is held by locking lugs SP1 and SP2 when pressed into the opening OP with locking in the blind cap BF.
- Conductor tracks LE1-LEn are attached to the contact device BC, which run flush towards the end of the socket and e.g. consist of copper cladding.
- Plug-in devices CE1-CEn are provided for contacting the conductors of the connection cable AC. In the present case, they are designed similarly to solder pins and project vertically upward from the circuit board forming the contact device BC.
- FIG. 2 For clarification of the connection options, reference is made to FIG. 2, in which a blind cap BF is drawn in an enlarged view, it being assumed here that the opening for the passage point of the connecting cable AC is either round and possibly only subsequently in the blind cap BF is attached.
- the cable AC is passed from the front through the front plate of the blind cap BF and intercepted tensile, for example by a Hose clamp, a cap clamp, a TL spout or the like.
- the circuit board forming the contact device BC has the conductor tracks already described, for example LE1, LE2, LE3 to LEn, which extend to the rear end of the circuit board. At some distance from the rear end, connector pins CE1-CEn are provided, the corresponding wires AD1, AD2, AD3 etc.
- the connecting cable AC being formed on the end with corresponding contact devices (for example in the form of a plug-in shoe) CA1, CA2, CA3 etc. the corresponding pin CE1, CE2 can be plugged on.
- the attachment of the connector pins CE1-CEn on the contact device BC ensures that any number of wires in any distribution can be connected to the respective contact paths LE1-LEn for the incoming cable AC and thus the desired activation of services can be carried out.
- appropriate fastening means e.g. provided in the form of clamping jaws KB3 and KB4, in the groove-shaped openings of which the circuit board of the contact device BC can be inserted and secured by means of retaining screws SR3 and SR4.
- other fastening means e.g. attach an angle to the BC board itself and attach this angle to the inside of the blind cap BF.
- connection cables it is also possible to attach several connection cables to a BF blind cap.
- the conductor tracks LE1-LEn on the circuit board of the contact device BC are expediently designed as copper claddings and the pins CE1-CEn can also be contacted by soldering.
- the contacts CA1-CA3 for the connection wires AD1-AD3 are expediently designed as plug-in shoes and crimped on. Appropriate measures can also be taken to ensure the continuity of any required earthing. If desired, the contacting on the conductor tracks LE1-LEn can also be made for the wires AD1-AD3 Soldering done.
- the connecting cord designed according to the invention can be inserted directly and without the detour of an adapter into the connection socket PD which is otherwise provided for plugging in the adapter.
- the adaptation to the respective assignment is effected solely by the appropriate contacting of the wires AD1, AD2, AD3 etc. to the conductor tracks LE1-LEn. It can also be changed later at any time if additions or other adjustments are necessary.
- the blind cap BF can thus continue to be used, in the form equipped with the BC board.
- blind cap BC with the contact device BC from the beginning and to connect it to the associated connecting cable in the manner shown in FIG. 2 only when required.
