Description

The invention relates to a laboratory gas scrubber for separating soluble noxious gases, which comprises a housing with a packing zone, a spray zone arranged above it and an agglomeration zone arranged above the spray zone, the housing having an inlet connection for exhaust air to be cleaned coming out of a laboratory fume cupboard and an outlet connection for the cleaned one Exhaust air includes.

The exhaust air is driven through the zones of the laboratory gas scrubber by a fan which is arranged at a suitable point and is not the subject of the protection.

Such a laboratory gas scrubber is already known from DE-GM 88 16 043 by the same owner. This well-known laboratory gas scrubber is hereby further developed. The invention has for its object to design the structure of the laboratory gas scrubber and the arrangement of its components so that a reduction in dimensions, in particular the height of the laboratory gas scrubber is made possible and it can be assigned to a fume cupboard in such a way that it is right next to the fume cupboard.

The object is achieved in that the housing is designed as an inner housing of a cabinet, that the inner housing is arranged in the upper part of the cabinet, that the inlet connector and the outlet connector are guided through the walls of the cabinet to the outside and that the cabinet in one part in its lower part Washer fluid tank, a submersible pump immersed in it and a control cabinet with the electrical control and regulating devices for the operation of the laboratory gas scrubber, so that the cabinet as a closed assembly can be assigned to one or more fume cupboards. The individual packing elements of the packing zone lie on a grating.

The spraying zone comprises one or more downward and / or upward directed nozzles which are provided with the washing liquid desired in each case via a circulation pump.

The agglomeration zone is a wide-mesh filter with low pressure loss, in which suspended particles as well as, in particular, finely divided mist of the washing liquid are combined to form larger drops.

It is preferably provided that the inlet connection is arranged laterally in the upper end of the inner housing and is guided through the side wall of the cabinet and is connected within the inner housing via a downwardly extending shaft to the inlet side of the packing zone.

Due to the special design of the laboratory gas scrubber, it is also possible to assign two fume cupboards to it. For this purpose, the laboratory gas scrubber is then provided with a second inlet connector in the upper end of the inner housing, which is led to the outside through the side wall of the inner housing opposite the first inlet connector and through the side wall of the cabinet adjacent to it.

However, the laboratory gas scrubber according to the invention can also be easily assigned to three fume cupboards and supply them, as has been shown in practice.

For this purpose, the laboratory gas scrubber is provided with a third inlet connection in the upper end of the inner housing, which passes through and through the roof wall of the inner housing neighboring roof wall of the cabinet is guided upwards and outwards. A correspondingly designed pipeline then leads from this inlet connection to the outlet opening at the upper end of the third fume cupboard.

A viewing window is preferably provided in the front wall of the inner housing and an outer viewing window is provided in the front wall of the cabinet to allow viewing of this viewing window.

The laboratory gas scrubber shown in FIGS. 1 to 3 comprises a cabinet 1 which contains in its lower part a washing liquid tank 3, a submersible pump 5 immersed in it and a control cabinet 4 with the electrical control and regulating devices for the operation of the laboratory gas scrubber. In the upper part of this cabinet there is an inner housing 2 with inlet connections 10, 10 'and 10''arranged at its upper end, which serve to connect one or two or three laboratory fume cupboards close to one another. If not all three inlet sockets are needed, the others are covered with caps. Such a closure cap 14 is shown in FIG. 2 on the inlet connection 10 ″ not required there.

The aforementioned inlet connections are each guided through the wall of the cabinet 1.

At the upper end of the inner housing there is an outlet connection 9 for the cleaned exhaust air in its roof wall, which is connected to the chimney for the exhaust air by a corresponding pipe via a fan. This outlet nozzle is also passed through the roof wall of the cabinet 1.

In the inner housing 2 there is also, as indicated in Fig. 2, a vertical partition 12. The aforementioned inlet connection 10, 10 'and 10''at the upper end of the inner housing 2 are on one side of this partition 12, so that the through the inlet pipe to be cleaned exhaust air is guided along this partition 12 to the lower end of the inner housing 2 and there, as can be seen from FIG. 2, enters the packing zone 6 on the underside. From there, the exhaust air first reaches the spray zone 7, which is supplied with washing liquid via a cross line 18, and then into the agglomeration zone 8 and from there into the outlet nozzle 9.

A viewing window 11 in the wall of the inner housing, at the height between the packing zone and the spraying zone, and a viewing window 11 ′ in alignment with this viewing window in the cabinet 1 permit observation of the interior of the inner housing during operation.

The washing liquid 13 required for the spraying zone is contained in the washing liquid tank 3 already mentioned at the bottom of the cabinet 1. The suction nozzle of a submersible pump 5 arranged above the washing liquid tank is immersed in this liquid. The submersible pump sucks washing liquid via a valve 15 into a riser line 17 which supplies the above-mentioned cross line 18. The pressure can be checked by a pressure gauge 16 connected to the line.

If perchloric acid gets into the exhaust air in the fume cupboard, the inlet ports 10, 10 ', 10' 'are sprayed through an additional nozzle 20 in order to prevent concentrated perchloric acid or its salts from being able to accumulate within the suction channels. These nozzles 20, one of which is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, are supplied by an additional line 19 connected to the riser 17.

The washing liquid flowing out of the spraying zone or the nozzles 20 passes back into the washing liquid tank 3 through a return line 21 starting from the bottom of the inner housing 2.

In addition, a fresh water inlet, an overflow and devices for keeping a desired pH constant, all not shown, are provided.

The control cabinet 4 can be pulled out of the cabinet for maintenance purposes.

As can be seen from Fig. 4, are on both sides of the laboratory gas washer 1 two fume cupboards 29 and 30 with the usual front sliding windows 31 and 32 and corresponding openings in the rear part at the upper end, into which the inlet connections 10 and 10 'of the laboratory gas washer enter.

Fig. 5 zeigt eine Vorderansicht dieser Baugruppe.Fig. 5 shows a front view of this assembly.

Dieser dritte Laborabzug wird durch einen oberen Verbindungsstutzen 37 und ein Verbindungsrohr 38 mit dem oberen Eintrittsstutzen 10'' des Laborgaswäschers verbunden.6 shows a laboratory gas scrubber cabinet 1 with two laboratory fume cupboards 29 and 30 arranged on both sides and a third laboratory fume cupboard 33. This third fume cupboard is connected by an upper connecting piece 37 and a connecting pipe 38 to the upper inlet piece 10 ″ of the laboratory gas scrubber.
