Paint mist washing device for paint spray points. The use of aqueous or other solutions to precipitate or precipitate dyestuffs from extracted paint mist or paint / dust / air mixtures eliminates the impairment of the suction effect, as occurs through deposits and clogging in solid filters. It also avoids the possibility of self-ignition, which is particularly common when easily flammable dyes are deposited in dry filters.
The suction effect of the fan, which is always the same during air flow washing, also significantly improves work hygiene in paint spray points. In addition to these advantages, air flow cleaning by washing also aims to keep the suction system, the fan and the air ducts clean.
This is only achieved where the paint mist washout is very effective. The efficiency of the air purification is of the utmost importance where a partial air return in circulating air or an air blowout is provided near other workplaces.
For some time now, paint spray points with air filtering resp. Air washing built by solutions. In these systems, the air flow filtering usually takes place in that the exhaust air flow to be cleaned breaks through a water curtain or also passes an atomization zone.
The solution used for this purpose is fed by means of a pump, under pressure, to the precipitation zone or to the atomizing nozzles arranged therein. From there, the solution flows back with the impurities it has collected into a collecting tank, from which it is again put into circulation by the pump.
The design of such systems that has been used to this day has a rigid precipitation zone, that is, the washroom is partly formed by a fixed and immovably inserted front guide plate for the solution drainage. This makes these plants adaptable. extremely low due to changing operating conditions and, once the output for fan and pump has been set, can only be negatively regulated by reducing the flow of solution to the precipitation zone.
In terms of load, however, devices for separating paint mist are subject to strong fluctuations. The dyestuff produced in each case - concentration of the dyestuff-air mixture - which is to be separated out by the air flow filtering by means of a solution, depends on the often changing number of workers and the equipment used to carry out the work (spray gun type).
The efficiency of the precipitation in plants with rigidly constructed precipitation zones therefore fluctuates in accordance with the different loads in the precipitation zone. For this reason, non-controllable air flow washing in paint spraying points can only partially suffice not only from company to company, but also the requirements that change within the company - caused by changes in color type and quantity, unless "construction and operation of the systems,
that are intended for temporary maximum loads are at the expense of economic efficiency.
Furthermore, it was found in the course of experience that passing the paint mist or the air flow containing paint dust through a water curtain or through a nozzle atomization zone, even when using alkaline solutions, generally only results in partial precipitation of the air contaminants.
The use of nozzles or other small outlet openings for the solution atomization also leads to outlet blockages due to the washed-out air impurities that cannot be kept away from the pipe circulation system. The solution pressure necessary for small outlet openings also requires a higher power requirement of the pump.
Effective air washing requires intensive mixing of the air flow and solution in the precipitation zone or washroom.
According to the invention, a paint mist wash-out device for regulatable air flow washing is provided for paint spray points of various shapes and sizes, which is characterized in that the front longitudinal wall of the washroom is formed by a pivotably suspended and forwardly hinged guide plate for solution drainage, the lower free end of which is arched and is provided with an inclined drainage plate and a locking device is provided on both sides of the guide plate to fix it in a desired position, the whole for the purpose of
in connection with the wedge-shaped organs arranged on the back wall of the washroom, to enable a change in the washroom cross-section with the automatically resulting and intended change in the intensity of the air-solution mixing.
In the drawings, various embodiments according to the invention are shown. Fig. I shows a first embodiment of the device in the side view and in section along the line A-A of the side view. FIGS. 1I, IIa and III show further exemplary embodiments.
It should be mentioned that the same controllable washing device can be used in spray points of various shapes and sizes (spray tables, spray stands and room ventilation units).
In the spray table (Fig. I) a pivotable, forwardly hinged guide plate 1 is arranged, which is curved inward at the lower free end 2 and equipped with an inclined drainage plate. On the back wall of the washroom, opposite the guide plate 1, there are two fixed or removable, wedge-shaped tubs 3 and 4. The lower tub 3 extends into the curved space of the guide plate 1.
A distribution trough 5 is provided above the guide plate 1. The distribution trough 5 and the upper trough 4 are charged with solution through distribution pipes which are provided with outlet nozzles 6 for an even discharge of the solution. A return plate 7 is attached to the lower tub 3. In order to protect the distribution trough 5 against paint dust, it is shielded from the work area by a flap 8.
Above the washroom a replaceable drip catcher 9 is arranged, which is superordinated to an air chamber 10 dimensioned for sufficient air relaxation, which is directly connected to an exhaust duct 12.
The lower part of the spray table is designed as a main tub 11 for the solution. This main tub 11 is equipped with a filter-less suction pipe 13 which is provided with suction slots. The suction pipe 13 guides the solution out of the main tub 11 via the pump into the distribution pipes, from where it runs through the outlet connection 6 into the distribution tub 5 and into the tub 4.
From the distribution trough 5 the solution runs over the guide plate 1 and is returned to the main trough 11 with little noise via the inclined return plate 7.
The in the upper tub 4 ansam melling solution flows over the inclined run plate from the guide plate 1 in the lower tub 3 and from there to the return plate 7 and is also the main tub 11 fed back.
The air flow, which is generated by a fan (not shown and is often placed outside) and loaded with paint dust, moves against and through the solution flow, whereby it not only has to break through the falling solution flow several times on its way through the washroom, but also through the special shape of the baffle lower part 2 as well as, forced by the arrangement of the distribution tubs 3 and 4, brings about an intensive air-solution mixing.
This takes place through the formation of air and solution eddies as well as through a partial entrainment of the solution by the air flow at the solution overflow edges.
The trays 3 and 4 catch washed-out air pollutants. They are arranged so that the air flow comes into contact with a large surface of the solution.
Solution particles, which are taken with the air flow, are deposited in the drip catcher 9 or fall out in the relaxation zone 10.
By opening the guide plate 1 and the protective plate 8, the entire washroom can be exposed for inspection and maintenance without any dismantling having to be carried out.
In the embodiment according to FIG. 1I, the upper trough is replaced by an interchangeable ble or fixed wedge 14 and the one distribution pipe is arranged over the inclined drainage plate of the guide plate 1.
Two wedges 14 are provided in the injection point according to FIG. IIa. So that the solution can reach both sides of the guide plate 1, the distribution pipe arranged above the distribution trough 5 is provided with outlet nozzles 6 in two directions. These lead the solution into the distribution trough 5 to overflow onto the guide plate 1 and through an overflow channel into the washroom.
In Fig. III, the solution flows out of the spout 6 directly onto the wedge 14, which replaces the trays 3 and 4.
The device described makes it possible, through the washroom formed from movable and interchangeable parts, the efficiency of the washing to adjust the ver different operating and Arbeitsver ratios, which is not possible with a rigid design.
The various settings of the washroom cross-section allow the necessary regulation of the air speed in the washroom.
By adjusting the baffle, the intensity of the air-solution mixture and thus the washing effect can be regulated without changing the pump or the fan.
In all the exemplary embodiments, a locking device, not shown, is provided on both sides of the guide plate for fixing the guide plate.
The use of outlet nozzles with a large diameter, which are practically non-clogging, allows - in contrast to small nozzle bores - the use of large amounts of solution with little power required for the pump.
