Description

The invention relates to a locking element for locking cargo in a cargo loading system for aircraft, in particular in an upper deck cargo loading system for convertible commercial aircraft from the passenger, which is releasably attached to seat rails extending in the longitudinal direction of the aircraft in the aircraft floor and at least one locking hook in a frame is held, which can be fixed via locking elements in two spaced apart seat rails.

Such a locking element is known from DE-PS 31 07 745. The well-known locking element serves the purpose, as a so-called YZ bolt, to its respective stowed position in the cargo hold to fix transported cargo, such as pallets or containers, in this position in the vertical and lateral directions. This is done via the locking hook, which engages over corresponding projections of the freight item.

Frequently, especially in the case of standardized freight containers or pallets, the areas of the freight item on which the locking hook engages are designed as recesses, so-called locking pockets, into which the locking hook engages and in this way, in addition to locking in the vertical and lateral directions, the freight item at the same time also against movements in the longitudinal direction of the aircraft, ie in the X direction. Both in this so-called XYZ bolt and in other applications of such bolt elements, the problem arises that the areas on the freight items with which the bolt hooks are to be engaged can have a different grid division than the seat rail profiles on which these bolt elements are in be fixed at regular intervals.

The object of the invention is to design a locking element of the type mentioned at the outset in such a way that it can be easily adapted to different grid divisions and still ensures reliable fixing of the freight items in their respective stowed position.

The invention solves this problem by a locking element with the characterizing features of claim 1.

Advantageous further developments which, above all, make the inventive use as versatile as possible The aim of the locking element is specified in the further claims. The locking elements according to the invention can be used either in a uniform form or in different versions in a freight loading system. The locking hooks of the locking element according to the invention can, depending on the place of use and the special requirements, be designed to be both fixed and pivotable below the level of the freight conveyor level and to be constructed as single, double or multiple bolts or any combination.

In the figures, the same components are provided with the same reference symbols.

The section of an upper deck cargo loading system shown in Fig. 1 in a large passenger space - convertible to cargo operation - commercial aircraft shows an arrangement of at regular intervals in the longitudinal direction of the aircraft, i.e. in the X direction, extending seat rails 1, which are embedded in the floor of the convertible top - cargo or passenger compartment.

The seat rails 1, the profile of which can be seen in the cross-sectional view shown in FIG. 4, are slotted on the top and provided with a hole pattern which can be seen in FIG. 2 and in which the circular cutouts are one inch apart. A plurality of similarly constructed locking elements 2 are fastened to these, which are arranged in such a way that they serve to fix a so-called 20-foot freight pallet 3, the outlines of which are also shown in the illustration in FIG. 1. The locking elements 2, which are each attached to two seat rails 1 adjacent in the transverse direction of the aircraft (Y direction), are at a distance of approximately 20 1/8 inches from one another in the X direction, their installation position with respect to one in the center of the picture located central locking element 2a in the line marked with the letters AA. The meaning of the numbers in the second line marked with the letters BB is discussed in more detail below. The locking elements 2 engage in locking pockets which are arranged at regular intervals in the freight pallet 3.

The structure of the locking elements 2 is illustrated using the example of the two specially marked locking elements in FIGS. 2 to 5. All locking elements 2 are constructed identically in the case of the exemplary embodiment described here, which is why the same reference numerals have been chosen for the two locking elements shown in FIGS. 2 to 5.

The locking elements 2 each consist of a frame or a cross member 4, which carries a pivotably mounted locking hook 5. The locking hook 5 is in the conveying direction, i.e. in the longitudinal direction of the aircraft, can be rolled over by the cargo pieces, whereby, as indicated in FIG. 4, this locking hook can be completely folded down into the cross member 4. In the erected locking position, the locking hook 5 engages with a nose in a locking pocket 6 of the freight pallet 3. The locking pocket 6 is slightly wider than the nose of the locking hook 5. A roller 7 on the locking hook 5 serves as a stop in the Y direction and for easier guidance in X direction.

The crossbeams 4 can be locked on the seat rails 1 by means of locking elements 8, a defined adjustability of the position of the crossbeams 4 in the X direction with respect to the basic position of the locking elements 2, which is provided at intervals of 20 or 21 inches, via a locking toothing the 1-inch hole pattern of the seat rail profiles is specified. The exact spacing of the two locking elements 2 shown in FIGS. 2 to 4, as indicated in FIG. 3, is 20 1/8 inches, as shown schematically in FIG. 5, and the right-hand cross member in FIG. 2 is 1/8 Inches from the 20-inch basic grid is offset to the right. 5 shows an adjustment scale for the two locking elements 2 shown in FIG. 2, which is in the range marked with V marked areas on the outside of the cross member 4 and the locking elements is attached. This is shown again in detail in FIG. 6.

The plates 11 and 12 are, as shown in FIG Fig. 6, provided on the top with a toothing at a distance of 1/8 inch and serve as adjusting plates for the non-positive positioning of the cross member 4th

The adjustment plates 11 and 12 work together with hard disks 15 and 16, which are provided on their underside with a toothing which corresponds in shape and distance to that of the adjustment plates 11 and 12, so that between these adjustment plates 11 and 12 and the respectively assigned Locking plate 15 and 16 a positive and non-positive connection can be produced. The locking element 8 is completed by a locking plate 17, which rests on the underside of the adjusting plate 11 and carries the three cylindrical projections 18, 19 and 20, the diameter and spacing of which is adapted to the perforated profile of the seat rails 1, and by two so-called Z screws 21 and 22, which are provided with nuts 23 and 24. The Z screws 21 and 22 engage through corresponding bores 25 to 29 in the fixing plate 15 or in the locking plate 17 and through an elongated hole-like recess 29 in the adjusting plate 11. The heads of the Z screws 21 and 22 are, as in the figures 6 and 9 recognizable, processed on two opposite sides of their circumference to the thickness of the screw shank, so that they have the approximated, rectangular base area recognizable in FIG. 9. With the rounded Narrow sides of these heads can be moved by turning the Z screws 21 and 22 into correspondingly shaped recesses in the lugs 18 to 20, the lugs 18 to 20 simultaneously limiting the pivoting movement of the heads and thus the Z screws 21 and 22 to approximately 90 degrees. The Z-screws 21 and 22 are rotated via slots 30 and 31, respectively, which are each attached to the threaded, tapered end of the Z-screws 21 and 22. These slots 30 and 31 also serve to display the position of the Z screws 21 and 22, in order to ensure a position control in this way.

As can further be seen from FIG. 6, the adjusting plates 11 and 12 carry scale-like markings 32 on their outer surface which, together with a marking line 33 on the outer surface of the associated fixing plate 15 and 16, carry the position of the adjusting plate 11 and 12 and thus the Show crossbar 4 in relation to the basic position determined by the installation position of the locking element in the seat rails 1, as is also shown in FIG. 5. FIGS. 7 and 8 once again show the neutral central position and the two possible extreme positions of the cross member 4 in relation to this basic position for illustration. The adjustment plate 11 and thus also the cross member 4 or the entire locking element 2, as can be seen from these figures, can be adjusted in the embodiment of the invention shown here by a maximum of 4 x 1/8 inches in each direction.

Since the grid pitch is 1/8 inch in this case, the arrangement shown in FIG. 1 can be realized with the aid of these control elements 2, in which a total of 11 over a total distance of 201.25 inches (= 10 × 20 1/8 inches) such locking elements in uniform Distances are arranged. The numbers entered in line BB correspond to the setting values to which the marking line 33 on the marking scale 32 of the locking element 2 located at this installation location points. The correct setting of these positions is easy to read from the outside.

The combination of adjusting plate 11, locking plate 15, locking plate 17 and Z-screws 21 and 22 shown in FIG. 6 is particularly suitable for retrofitting or retrofitting locking elements that are already in use, simply by replacing the existing connection elements. and locking components can be installed in the corresponding trusses. Single cross latch hooks can either be installed in the cross beams, as in the exemplary embodiment described above, but double or multiple latches can also be provided without departing from the scope of the invention.

62 und 63 bzw. auch Tragrollen 69 eingebaut.FIGS. 10 to 12 show three different arrangements, in each of which, in a crossmember 44, 54 and 64, respectively, fixed YZ locking hooks 65, foldable YZ locking hooks 45, 46 and 55 and folding XYZ locking hooks 56 and 66 in different combinations are arranged, which serve to lock various cargo items 47, 48, 57, 58, 67 and 68. Additional ball elements 42 and 43, 52 and 53 or 62 and 63 or also support rollers 69 are installed in the cross members 44, 54 and 64 to support the conveying movement of the freight items.

The adjustment and installation of all locking elements described above is carried out in the same way. First, the Z screws 21 and 22 are loosened so far that the individual teeth of the Detent teeth between the adjusting plate 11 and the locking plate 15 disengage and both plates can be moved towards each other in the direction of the slot-like recess 29. After the desired setting position has been reached, the Z-screws are tightened to such an extent that they cannot be moved unintentionally into another locking position. Then the Z screws 21 and 22 are rotated via the slots 30 and 31 into the unlocked position, in which the flattened sides of the heads of these screws are parallel to the long side of the locking plate 17, as shown in the right part of FIG. 9. In this position, the locking element 2 can be inserted into the profile of the seat rails 1. By subsequently turning the Z screws by 90 degrees, the screw heads assume their position shown in the left part of FIG. 9, in which they reach under the set rail profile.

In the locking position now reached, the heads of the Z screws 21 and 22 are pressed against the seat rail profile from the inside by tightening the nuts 23 and 24, as a result of which the entire locking element 2 is fixed.
