Description

The invention relates to a cladding element for cladding stairs in need of renovation, with an essentially L-shaped angled profile rail, one leg of which is set up to rest on the running board and the other leg of which runs parallel to the front end face of the running board, with the connection area facing away from the running board the two legs are connected to an undercut retaining profile strip, further with a step covering and a front panel covering the end face of the running board, both of which are overlapped by the retaining profile strip with their respective adjoining edge, and with a counter rail, which is connected to the front end face of the Running board parallel legs of the angle profile rail connects, vertically adjustable to the footboard and on its lower edge facing away from the angle profile rail is provided on the one hand with a retaining web that protrudes towards the side facing away from the footboard and overlaps the second edge of the front panel, and on the other hand the bottom of the running board covering the terminal strip, the leg and the counter rail positively abutting one another in a receiving groove formed on the end face of the running board.

In such a cladding element known from DE-U-8 914 539, a profiled strip is provided to create the receiving groove, which has a rectangular undercut on its side to be fastened to the front side of the step. So that one wall of the receiving groove is formed by the profile strip, the other groove wall, however, from the front of the step to be renovated. From above, a flat strip is inserted into this receiving groove, which is screwed tightly to the front strip covering the end face of the stair step. In order to give this otherwise unsecured front bar a sufficient hold, it is provided to adjust the width of the receiving groove by a screw so that a clamping effect between the leg of the profile bar and the end face of the stair step for the flat bar is achieved.

During assembly, this initially means complex adjustment work, since the flat strip can first be inserted into the receiving groove, but then must be subjected to such a clamping force that an accidental one It is no longer possible to loosen the front strip together with the flat strip from the receiving groove. In practice, this means that the face bar must be removed and reassembled several times at each individual stage until the required width of the receiving groove is set exactly. Another disadvantage of this kit is that a precisely defined gap width can only be set if the end face of the footboard of the stairs to be renovated is not too damaged or has escaped. If the latter is the case, the receiving groove no longer has a sufficiently precisely defined cross-sectional shape that would allow the flat strip to be held firmly. In this case, the step edge would have to be refurbished beforehand using fillers, for example.

In a cladding element known from DE-U-8 913 914, an essentially U-shaped angle profile is provided which encompasses the part of the footboard which projects freely above the riser. The leg of the profile protruding towards the riser is provided at its free end with a web projecting at right angles, via which the profile can be connected to the riser by screwing. In order to be able to use this cladding element as universally as possible, the cross-section of the U-profile must be chosen so large that the cladding of running boards in all common widths and thicknesses is possible. Designing the U-profile according to these boundary conditions means that considerable cavities are generally formed in front of the end face and below the footboard, which lead to instability of the cladding element.

Starting from a cladding element of the type mentioned in the introduction, the object of the invention is to enable renovation of heavily worn stair steps in a simple manner, without cavities having to be filled or instabilities resulting therefrom having to be accepted.

This object is achieved according to the invention in that the leg of the angle rail is firmly connected to the running board and that the angle rail has a second leg running parallel to the end face of the running board, the two mutually parallel legs forming the receiving groove for the counter rail between them .

The advantage of the invention is that there is basically a defined distance for receiving the counter rail, so that a positive connection and thus also withstand higher loads is achieved. As the rest of the angular profile rail covers precisely the area most subject to wear and is firmly attached to the step to be renovated, it is generally not necessary to do a preliminary renovation.

In a first advantageous embodiment of the invention, the counter rail can be screwed to the leg of the angle profile rail which is in contact with it via fastening screws. It is advantageous if the counter rail is provided with elongated holes which run transversely to its longitudinal direction and which receive the fastening screws and allow the vertical adjustment of the counter rail.

According to a further, particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the end face of the terminal strip, which faces the riser, rests against a cover strip arranged in front of the riser. As a rule, this eliminates the need for separate fasteners for the cover strip. Advantageously and therefore preferably within the scope of the invention, the two surfaces of the legs forming the groove walls and / or the surfaces of the opposing rail lying against the groove walls have a toothing. This provides the possibility of simply pushing the counter rail into the angular profile rail to the desired dimension, the counter rail being prevented by the toothing from detaching itself again from the angular profile rail.

The angle rail is suitably made of aluminum, while the counter rail can be made of aluminum, plastic or wood.

It is further provided in the context of the invention that the terminal strip can be formed in one piece with the counter rail. However, it can also be provided that the counter rail has a further retaining web which overlaps the terminal strip at the edge. The terminal strip is then inserted with one edge behind the retaining web of the counter rail for its assembly and then pressed with its other edge against the underside of the footboard. For this purpose, the width of the terminal strip is dimensioned so that it lies under pressure on the cover strip. In this way, additional fastening of the terminal strip can also be avoided. For this purpose, the invention further provides that between the cover strip and the riser is a permanently elastic mass, esp. A blowing or assembly foam is arranged. In this way, the clamping force is maintained even if the dimensional accuracy of the wood Temperature, humidity and other influences are subject to fluctuations.

Fig. 2
another embodiment of the invention in FIG. 1 corresponding representation.

The cladding element shown in the drawing is used for sheathing stairs that need renovation and initially has an essentially L-shaped angle rail 1. One leg 2 of the angle rail 1 is set up to rest on the footboard 3 and for a firm connection to it. The other leg 4 runs parallel to the front end face 3.1 of the running board 3. On the side of the angled profile rail 1 facing away from the running board 3, a holding profile strip 5 provided with undercuts is connected in the connecting area of the two legs 2, 4.

The cladding element further comprises a step covering 6 and an end face cover 7 covering the end face 3.1 of the footboard 3, both of which are overlapped by the undercuts of the holding profile strip 5 with their respectively adjacent edge.

A counter rail 8 that is vertically adjustable perpendicular to the running board 3 is connected to the leg 4 of the angular profile rail 1 that runs parallel to the front end face 3.1 of the running board 3. The counter rail 8 is provided on its lower edge facing away from the angular profile rail 1 on the one hand with a retaining web 9 which projects towards the side facing away from the running board 3 and overlaps the second edge of the front panel 7. On the other hand, the counter rail 8 carries a terminal strip 10 covering the underside of the running board 3. This terminal strip 10 rests with its front side facing the riser 11 against a cover strip 12 arranged in front of the riser 11.

The counter rail 8 can be screwed in the manner not shown in the drawing to the leg 4 of the angular profile rail 1 lying against it by means of fastening screws. In order to be able to adapt to different thicknesses of the footboard 3, the counter rail 8 can be provided with elongated holes extending transversely to its longitudinal direction, which accommodate the fastening screws and allow the vertical adjustment of the counter rail 8.

In the exemplary embodiment shown in the drawing, on the other hand, the angular profile rail 1 has a second leg 13 which runs parallel to the end face 3.1 of the running board 3, the two mutually parallel legs 4, 13 forming a receiving groove 14 between them for the counter rail 8. Here, too, there is the possibility of establishing the fixed connection between the angle profile rail 1 and the counter rail 8 by means of a screw connection. However, this simplifies assembly achieved that the two surfaces of the legs 4, 13 forming the groove walls and / or the surfaces of the counter rail 8 lying against the groove walls have a toothing. As a result, the counter rail 8 only has to be inserted into the groove 14 of the angle rail 1 to the required extent, the toothing preventing the counter rail 8 from automatically detaching from the groove.

The angle rail 1 will usually be made of aluminum, while the counter rail 8 can also be made of aluminum, but also made of plastic or wood.

In the exemplary embodiment according to FIG. 1, the counter rail 8 has a further retaining web 15 which overlaps the terminal strip 10 at the edge. For assembly, therefore, the terminal strip 10 only has to be inserted behind the retaining web 15 of the counter rail 8 and then pressed upwards at its opposite parallel edge against the running board 3. The dimensioning of the terminal strip 10 is to be selected so that a clamping force builds up between the cover strip 12 and the terminal strip 10, which automatically holds the terminal strip 10 in its position. In order to ensure this clamping force even when the wood used is not dimensionally stable, a permanently elastic mass 16, that is to say a blowing or assembly foam, is arranged between the cover strip 12 and the riser 11.

In the embodiment of FIG. 2, however, the terminal strip 10 is integrally formed with the counter rail 8, so that a clamping force between the terminal strip 10 and the cover strip 12 is not necessarily required, but nevertheless recommended.
