Abstract

A folding box in corrugated or solid-fiber cardboard or other materials with a bar for transporting clothes on hangers or other objects, such as posters, paintings, suspended lamps, curtains, etc. has a closable loading opening arranged in one of the large faces, a flap over the loading opening and a cap for the top part of the folding cardboard box. Description

The invention relates to a folding box made of corrugated cardboard, solid cardboard or other materials with a wardrobe rail for the transport of clothes hanging on hangers, or other objects, comprising a closable loading opening on the front wall, which is open at the top and to the sides of the folding box Border is limited, a flap for the loading opening and a lid for the upper part of the folding box.

Previously known folding boxes of the type mentioned above have many serious disadvantages.

A known folding box (US-A-4 576 280) for the transport of garments (clothes box) has a closable loading opening that can be opened with a flap that can be folded down. When loading the clothes box, the open flap is annoying because it is located directly in front of the folding box, i.e. where the person who wants to hang a stack of clothes should be.

Other folding cartons known in practice for the transportation of garments are each provided with a grip hole below half the height of the folding carton on both side surfaces, otherwise they are designed with regard to the loading opening as in the folding carton of the type mentioned at the beginning. In this embodiment, it is assumed that the folding box is carried by two people. However, this is often not necessary since a fully loaded folding carton usually weighs no more than 20 kg. If, on the other hand, you would only move the handle holes upwards with this folding carton, a person could actually carry the folding carton on his back, but then stresses occur that cannot be adequately absorbed and derived from the folding carton due to the design of the loading opening .

The invention is concerned with the problem of eliminating the disadvantages of the folding box of the type mentioned, in particular to create a folding box that has a high strength, is easy to load and unload and can also be transported safely by a single person .

This is achieved by the features specified in the claims.

In the device according to the invention, the loading opening is freely accessible. A flap or the like does not protrude forward, so that an operator standing in front of the folding box can hang or remove a large number of items of clothing from the wardrobe rail.

Due to the formation of the side webs delimiting the loading opening, the folding carton is given increased strength when carried. Torsional forces can in particular through these side webs can be better absorbed without the cardboard buckling laterally.

In order that the forces exerted by the carrier on the folding carton can be better absorbed, the side parts of the folding carton can be formed with transversely folded upper extension parts. Immediately below these collapsed extension pieces there are grip holes or support openings so that the forces are transferred more evenly to the folding carton via the collapsed extension pieces.

Finally, the side parts of the lid can also be detachably connected to one another via simple hole-tab connections, so that the folding carton forms a force-fitting unit with the attached lid.

The folding box according to the invention can also be further stabilized in that the bottom is also strengthened in the form of interleaved extension pieces of the side parts.

It is also possible to form the folding box according to the invention from single-walled cardboard.

In the figures, the actual folding box is designated by 10. This has essentially the shape of a cuboid. The folding carton is made from a carton blank, the bottom 24 being made in any known manner. Extension parts 21 and 22 are located on the top of the side walls. In the direction of the arrow shown, the extension piece 22 is folded up and brought into the position shown at 21. There is at least one fold point. There could be several. Immediately below the collapsed extension pieces 21 and 22 there are grip holes 20 in the side walls. These grip holes are designed in such a way that a single operator can carry the folding box 10 on his back.

On the front or wall of the folding box 10, a loading opening 25 is formed. This is open at the top and the loading opening 25 is delimited by reinforcing strips 23 to the two side parts.

In the lower area of the loading opening 25 there are two incisions 26.

Corresponding incisions 36 are also made on an extension piece 31 of a cover 30. In particular in FIG. 2 it can be seen how the reinforcement piece 31 can cover the loading opening 25 and at the same time a secure fastening of the two parts to one another is produced via the incisions 36 and 26.

In Fig. 2 the wardrobe bar 28 is shown schematically, which can be attached to the folding box in a known manner.

Claims (5)

1. A box (10) made of corrugated cardboard, solid board or other materials with a clothes-hanger rod (28) for transporting items of clothing or other objects suspended on hangers, e.g. posters, pictures, pendant luminaires, curtains etc., said box possessing a filling aperture (25) located in its front wall and capable of being closed by a flap, said filling aperture being open at the top and delimited at the sides of the box (10) by lateral strips (23), and further possessing a lid (30) for the upper, open part of the box, said box characterised by the fact that the lateral strips (23) are each formed as a two-part strip folded back on itself and that the flap is formed in one piece either as a separate element or as an extension section (31) of the lid, said extension section (31) being somewhat longer than the height of the filling aperture (25).
2. A box as set forth in claim 1, characterised by the fact that both the free end of the extension section (31) and the lower end of the filling aperture (25) are formed with interlocking slits (26, 36).

A box as set forth in claim 1 or 2, characterised by the fact that in an embodiment of the lid (30) with lid sections (37) that are lateral in relation to the extension section (31) said lid sections (37) are formed with dimensions narrowing from the extension section (31) towards the back and/or with fastening elements for detachable fixing of the lid sections (37) to the side sections of the box (10).
4. A box as set forth in claims 1 to 3, characterised by the fact that the upper ends of the side sections of the box are formed with reinforcement sections (21, 22) capable of being folded back on themselves.
5. A box as set forth in claim 4, characterised by the fact that two gripping holes are formed in each of the side walls of the box (10) beneath the lower extent of the folded reinforcement sections (21, 22).
