Description

The invention relates to a device for holding and re-releasing a storage tray on or from a carrier, which has a footprint for supporting at least a part of the storage tray and which contains a recess adjacent to the footprint into which an edge part of the storage tray can be inserted and which also contains a clamping mechanism, which holds the tray by a clamping connection in the region of the edge part and releases this clamping connection when an unlocking device is actuated.

In a known device of this type (DE-34 13 871), which is designed in particular to hold an instrument storage tray which has a downwardly drawn edge end part, the carrier contains a displaceably held support part which has a horizontal support surface for the tray and adjacent the support surface contains a recess into which the edge end part of the storage tray engages in a form-fitting manner. The carrier is also provided with a projection which is arranged at a distance from the depression corresponding to the edge height of the storage tray and which at least partially overlaps the upper surface of the edge when the storage tray is placed on it.

To hold the tray, the lower edge end part of the tray is inserted into the recess of the slidably supported support part. Then the tray and the support part are moved in the direction of the projection and then pressed down, causing a pin of the support part at a stop another recess in the supporting part comes to rest. The removal takes place in reverse order, ie the supporting part and the tray have to be lifted slightly first, then the engagement connection must then be released.

Although the known device has proven itself well, it cannot be ruled out in the mechanics provided there that the clamping connection can come loose against the storage tray in the event of unintentional excessive pressure from below.

The invention specified in claim 1 is based on the object to achieve an improvement and to provide a device of the type mentioned, in which it is ensured that the tray cannot unintentionally detach from the holder or can be accidentally detached.

Advantages of the invention are that the storage tray can be securely latched automatically in one-hand operation, remains securely in the latching position even in the event of accidental collision, and that the entire latching mechanism can be installed comparatively easily in a carrier without paying particular attention to the construction of the carrier needs.

An embodiment of the invention is explained below with reference to the drawing. 1 to 3 show the device according to the invention in section, in three different phases, FIG. 1 showing the device in a position in which the storage tray has been inserted into the carrier but has not yet clicked into place, and FIGS. 2 and FIG. 3 show the device in a latching position on the one hand and in a removal position on the other hand.

Before the mode of operation is explained in more detail, first a description of the construction of the device.

An instrument storage tray 1, which is only shown in part in the drawing, is to be detachably latched onto a carrier 2. For this purpose, the carrier 2 is provided with a recess 3, the height of which corresponds approximately to the height of the instrument tray 1. The recess 3 forms on the bottom side a slightly protruding standing surface 4, on which the storage tray can be placed over at least part of its surface during the insertion phase. The footprint 4 is dimensioned such that, together with the surface of the recess on the cover side, it already holds the storage tray sufficiently at the beginning of the insertion phase. An actuating pin 5 is mounted horizontally displaceably in the carrier 2 approximately in the middle of the recess 3. The actuating pin is operatively connected to a clamping lever 6 which is pivotally mounted in the carrier 2 and which in turn interacts with a sliding block 7. The sliding block 7 is guided in a longitudinally displaceable manner in a base plate 8 mounted in the carrier 2, for which purpose corresponding guide strips 9 are provided on the side. The clamping lever 6, which is tiltably mounted by means of a horizontal axle bearing 10, contains two angled legs, one of which has an actuating surface 11 which interacts with one end face of the actuating pin 5 and the other has a latching hook 12. The latter reaches through a recess 13 of the carrier 2 in the drawn insertion position.

The sliding block 7, which, as will be explained in more detail later, serves as a residual and force transmission member, has a groove 14 (FIG. 2) which is delimited by a stop edge 15 (FIG. 3) which is shown in FIG. 1 shown insertion position under the action of the force of a spring 16 on the locking hook 12. The groove 14 merges at the stop edge 15 into a wedge-shaped projection with an inclined surface 17. On the opposite side, the sliding block has a further inclined surface 18, the function of which will also be explained in more detail later.

The spring 16 is designed as a leg spring, one leg being attached to a pin 19 of the sliding block 7 and the other leg being attached to a fixed pin 20 assigned to the carrier 2. In the illustrated insertion position, the pins 19 and 20 form an angle (α) of approximately 10 ° with respect to the vertical. As a result of this arrangement, a certain spring force (F S ) in the direction of force shown in FIG. 1 results in a relatively small force component (F H ) in the horizontal plane, but a relatively large force component (F v ) in the vertical direction. With the relatively small force F H that the spring exerts on the sliding block 7 in the horizontal direction, the latching hook 12 is held in the drawn insertion position with a relatively low frictional force. In this position, the latching mechanism is preliminarily tensioned for a release position that enables the insertion and removal of the storage tray.

A trigger lever 21 is also pivotally mounted on the carrier 2. The release lever 21 is connected to the sliding block 7 via a drive rod 22, in that one end of the drive rod 22 is suspended in a groove of the release lever 21 by means of pins 23, while the other end is movable along the slide block 7 up to a stop 25 by means of pins 24 is led.

Zur Funktionsweise:How it works:

When the tray 1 is inserted into the recess 3 of the carrier 2, one end of the tray comes to rest on one end of the actuating pin 5. When the storage tray is pushed in further, the actuating pin 5 causes the clamping lever to tilt about the axle bearing 10. The holding force of the clamping lever, which is generated by the edge resting on the latching hook 12, is canceled. The latching hook then comes to rest with a surface 26 on the wedge surface 17. Because of the relatively low horizontal holding force F H with which the sliding block 7 presses against the clamping lever 12, the clamping lever 6 can be unlocked with little effort.

With further insertion of the storage tray into the recess 3, the locking hook is positively guided along the wedge surface 17, whereby the clamping lever 6 is tilted until finally the free end of the locking hook 12 is pressed against a surface 27 of a correspondingly shaped recessed grip of the storage tray. During this process, the spring 16 changes its direction of force, whereby it acts with an increasingly larger force component in the horizontal direction and thereby presses the clamping lever with increasing force against the surface 27 of the storage tray. In the locked position, the storage tray is firmly fixed in the recess 3 by clamping action (Fig. 2). The latching hook 12 rests on the storage tray with maximum clamping force. As a result of the longitudinal movement which the sliding block 7 has carried out with respect to the base plate 8, the stop 25 comes into the position shown in FIG. 2, in which it is located directly in front of the pin 24 of one end of the driving rod 22.

To remove the storage tray, the release lever 21 is pivoted downward (FIG. 3). Here, the sliding block 7 is moved against the force of the spring 16 in the removal direction, ie to the left in the illustration, via the driving rod 22. During this process, the surface 18 of the sliding block 7 finally comes to rest on the right leg of the clamping lever 6 and pivots it back into the starting position.

After the trigger lever 21 has been folded back into the horizontal starting position, which can advantageously be carried out automatically by means of a separate return spring (not shown here), the sliding block 7 is again pulled to the right until it lies with the edge 15 on the latching hook 11 with pretension. The locking mechanism is then preliminarily tensioned again.

The arrangement of the pivot lever 21 offers the advantage of unlocking the storage tray with one hand in such a way that neither the storage tray nor the carrier need be held. It is thus possible to unlock the clamping connection with one hand without shifting the position of the carrier, which has proven to be particularly advantageous in the case of movable support arm systems.

The entire clamping mechanism is advantageously attached as an assembly on the base plate 8, which in turn is easily releasably held on the carrier. After the driver rod 22 is only hooked onto the release lever 21, the entire mechanism can be easily detached from the carrier if necessary.

In conclusion, it should be pointed out that instead of the leg spring described, other suitable sources of force can also be provided. Likewise, it is not absolutely necessary for the intended power source to change its direction of force in the insertion phase. However, the proposed solution has the advantage that the edge 15 and the surface cooperating with it on the clamping lever 6 are subject to relatively little wear due to the relatively small force.

Device according to Claim 2, wherein the conducting back of the clamping means (6) into the release position occurs automatically through guidance by constraint between the detent and power transmitting means (7) on the one hand and the clamping means (6) on the other, under the influence of the power source (16).
  4. Device according to Claim 1, wherein the detent and power transmitting means is a sliding block (7) which is guided in the holder (2) in a longitudinally displaceable manner and has a groove (14) into which a detent hook (12) on the clamping means (6) can engage, which sliding block (7) has, following the detent groove, a wedge-shaped extension with an inclined surface (17), on which extension the detent hook rests by means of a surface (25), the power source (16) being so constructed and disposed that, when the sliding block moves into the clamping position, an increasingly greater force is exerted upon the clamping means (6).
  5. Device according to Claim 4, wherein there is provided, as the clamping means, a clamping lever (6) which is mounted in the holder (2) for pivoting movement about a spindle bearing (10) and which has two angled legs, one of which works in conjunction with the actuating means (5) while the other contains the detent hook (12) which engages into the groove (14) in the sliding block (7).
  6. Device according to Claim 5, wherein there is provided, as the actuating means, a pin (5) which is mounted in the holder (2) and works, with one of its ends, in conjunction with an actuating surface (11) on the clamping lever (6) and, with its other end, in conjunction with the edge portion of the stowage tray (1), which edge portion can be inserted into the cut-out portion (3).
  7. Device according to Claim 1, wherein there is provided, as the triggering means for displacing the detent means, a pivoting lever (21) which can be actuated by hand and is connected, by means of an entraining device (22), to the detent and power transmitting means (7) in such a way that, when the pivoting lever is actuated, the clamping lever (6) is displaced into the release position and the actuating means (5) is displaced in the direction of removal.
  8. Device according to Claim 1, wherein a power source (16) which is variable in the direction of force is present.
  9. Device according to Claim 8, wherein the power source (16) generates a component of force (FH) which is directed oppositely to the direction of removal and which is smaller in the release position than in the clamping position.
  10. Device according to Claim 9, wherein there is provided, as the power source, a leg spring (16) which works against the direction of removal and the ends of which are supported, on the one hand, against the holder (2) and, on the other hand, against the detent and transmitting means (7).
  11. Device according to one of Claims 1 to 10, wherein the clamping mechanism (6, 7, 16) is fitted, as an assembly, on a bottom plate (8) which, in turn, is detachably mounted in the holder (2).
