An appropriate audible and/or visual alarm may also be initiated on the control panel 116. As this dispensing system incorporates two detergent dIspensers 112, the malfunction of one dispenser can automatically initiate operation of the second dispenser.

This will include control of pump motors (when used), temperature sensing, conductivity sensing, input signal sensing (from the dishwashing machine(s) with which the apparatus is associated) and bar code readers or sensors 144. These readers or sensors 144 are located on each dispenser 112 and 114 in front of each container 133, and the containers 133 are provided with an appropriate bar coding (not shown) which identifies the nature of the product in the container. Thus, a detergent will have a pre-assigned code while a rinse aid will have a different code.
  • the control module 116 is programmed to permit operation of the apparatus only when the correct containers are located in the correct positions in the apparatus. Thus, if by an error, a rinse aid container is located in a position occupied normally by a detergent container, the bar code reader senses the error and prevents operation of the apparatus.
  • the bar code readers sense the absence of a container from any location to prevent the operation either of the apparatus as a whole or, preferably, of the particular station from which the container has been removed.
  • control module 116 may be provided in the control module 116 including alpha/numeric displays, indicator fights and the like. Provision may be provided for remote programing of the microprocessor.
  • control module 116 will monitor inputs from the dishwashing machine waiting for a machine cycle to commence. If the control system senses a product bar code on a container does not match the programmed container positions then the control display will indicate the incorrect bottle position and will prevent actuation of the system. A reset button may be provided to recommence the control operation.
  • control module 116 When the water fill line from a machine becomes active, the control module 116 will begin to dose the machine with the appropriate chemical. A timer is actuated to detect if the process of reaching the desired conductivity, determining chemical concentration, exceeds a predetermined maximum. The chemical is then dispensed to the machine by a detergent pump, the appropriate amount of detergent being a predetermined measure.
  • the system will generally choose one of the detergent containers before the other from which to dispense detergent. However, if that container is empty, as measured by the conductivity measurements taken through the inlet/outlet tubes, the machine automatically switches to dispense detergent from the other container.
  • a pushbutton may be used to manually flush a container which is indicated as being empty of detergent.
  • the flush button is operable only when the system has detected that a container is exhausted, and will only run the flush pump for as long as the flush button is pushed.

Abstract

Claims (12)

  1. Appareil de distribution comprenant une tête de distribution (117) possédant un passage (128) d'entrée d'un fluide de distribution, qui communique avec des moyens (13) de délivrance d'un fluide, un passage (129) de sortie du fluide, les passages d'entrée et de sortie traversant tous deux un élément d'expansion (119) contenant un support (117) pour un récipient, ledit élément d'expansion (119) étant monté sensiblement coaxialement sur un élément d'étanchéité élastique flexible et expansible (121), une tige située sur ledit élément d'expansion (119), un support de joint d'étanchéité (122) pour l'élément d'étanchéité monté sur un boîtier (112), caractérisé en ce que ledit support de joint d'étanchéité est monté de manière à pouvoir pivoter par rapport au boîtier, et des moyens de déplacement (126,127) sont associés de façon active à la tige de manière à déplacer l'élément d'expansion (119) axialement par rapport à l'élément d'étanchéité de manière à fixer de façon amovible un récipient (133) au support (117) pour récipient lorsque le support de joint d'étanchéité (122) est pivoté par rapport audit boîtier (112), les passages d'entrée et de sortie étant aptes à communiquer avec l'intérieur du récipient.

Système de distribution servant à distribuer une substance solide, pulvérulente , liquide ou une autre substance à partir d'un récipient (133), comprenant au moins un module de distribution (112) possédant un appareil selon la revendication 1, dans lequel ledit support d'élément d'étanchéité (122) comprend des moyens formant pivot (123), et les moyens de déplacement sont des moyens en forme de came pouvant agir lors du mouvement du pivotement du support d'élément d'étanchéité pour réaliser l'expansion ou la contraction de l'élément d'étanchéité.

Système selon la revendication 8, caractérisé en ce qu'un module de commande (116) est associé au module de distribution (112), ledit module de commande logeant un réservoir d'eau, une pluralité de pompes et de moyens de commande, l'une des pompes étant formée par une pompe d'entrée pour envoyer par pompage de l'eau depuis le réservoir jusqu'aux moyens de délivrance du fluide et au passage d'entrée, et lesdits moyens de commande commandant le fonctionnement de la pompe.
  10. Système selon la revendication 9, caractérisé en ce qu'au moins deux modules de distribution (112,114) sont raccordés audit module de commande (116), et lesdits moyens de commande commandent électroniquement les fonctionnements de ces modules en fonction d'instructions de commande préprogrammées.
  11. Système selon la revendication 9 ou 10, caractérisé en ce que le ou chaque module de distribution (112,114) comprend un boîtier, des moyens formant couvercle (118) montés pivotants sur le boîtier de manière à recouvrir la tête de distribution, des moyens formant capteurs (144) pour détecter la présence d'un récipient, et des moyens en forme d'électrode destinés à s'étendre dans le récipient, lesdits moyens en forme d'électrode comprenant des tubes d'entrée et de sortie de fluide (128,129) constituant respectivement les passages d'entrée et de sortie.
  12. Système de distribution selon l'une quelconque des revendications 8 à 11, caractérisé en ce que les moyens formant capteurs (144) sont prévus sur le ou chaque module (112,114) pour détecter la présence ou autre de moyens indicateurs sur le récipient (133), et des moyens de commande répondant auxdits moyens formant capteurs (144) commandent lesdits moyens de délivrance du fluide.
