Definitions
- the present invention relates to a method for remote control of a hearing aid device by pulses formed by sound waves with different pulse durations, the pulses being evaluated according to their duration.
- the invention further relates to a remote control device for performing the method.
- sound waves are emitted by a transmitter, which e.g. can be converted into short and long duration remote control pulses by modulation with a square-wave signal (envelope curve).
- a transmitter e.g. can be converted into short and long duration remote control pulses by modulation with a square-wave signal (envelope curve).
- These sound waves are generated by a separate remote control receiver, e.g. in a hearing aid, for controlling or setting functions, e.g. Volume in the hearing aid, received and evaluated.
- remote control pulses Due to the reflection of sound waves (remote control pulses) on objects in the vicinity of such a remote control device, remote control pulses reach the receiver with a time delay due to the longer distance. These reflected pulses can overlap with the directly received remote control pulses.
- the original duration of the respective remote control pulse can be extended by the delay time of the remote control pulses received as a reflection.
- the described reflections of sound waves lead above all to an extension of the duration of the original remote control pulses. This affects the evaluation of the remote control pulses.
- the invention has for its object to provide a method and a remote control device of the type mentioned, with which the impairment of the evaluation is reduced by reflections.
- a major advantage of the invention is that the impairment of the evaluation of remote control pulses formed from sound waves with a long and short duration is significantly reduced by reflections. This is done primarily by adapting at least one evaluation time to the remote control pulses that can be extended by reflections. Furthermore, the impairment of the evaluation of remote control pulses can be reduced by providing a blanking that automatically adapts to the remote control pulses extended by reflections. It is particularly advantageous if both an adaptation of the evaluation time and an adaptation of the blanking to the remote control pulses prolonged by reflections are carried out simultaneously in a remote control device. In such a remote control device, almost all impairments caused by reflections (false evaluations) can be avoided.
- a transmitter 1 which has a key control 2, emits sound waves 3 via an output sound transducer, e.g. Ultrasonic waves with a frequency of approx. 25 kHz.
- These sound waves are remote control pulses of short and long duration and propagate in different ways, which is symbolized by arrows 4 and 5. While the sound waves according to arrow 4 reach a microphone 6 over a short distance, the sound waves are deflected according to the path symbolized by arrow 5 on an object 7 and can therefore reach the microphone 6 over a longer path, ie with a delay.
- the remote control pulses converted into electrical signals in the microphone 6 pass through a high-pass filter 8 and a limiter circuit, which e.g.
- the evaluated remote control pulses are transmitted via a data decoder 11 to one or more remotely controllable components, e.g. an electronically adjustable volume control 12, for controlling one or more functions in a hearing aid 13.
- the hearing aid 13 comprises a receiver (output sound converter) 14, an output stage 15, the electronically adjustable volume control 12, a preamplifier 16 and a low-pass filter 17 which is connected to the microphone 6.
- the microphone 6 consequently serves both to record remote control sound signals (remote control pulses) and to record speech and ambient sound for the actual hearing device 13.
- FIG. 2 shows the remote control pulses emitted by the transmitter 1 as a pulse train 18 with remote control pulses 19 to 24 with a short duration t 1 and a long duration t 2 , which have reached the microphone 6 in a direct way.
- a reflected pulse train 25 with respect to the pulse duration and pulse intervals with the pulse train 18 is one Transit time difference t 3 also moves to the microphone 6 in an indirect way with a lower amplitude.
- An additive superimposition of the two pulse sequences 18 and 25 results in a pulse sequence 26 with remote control pulses 27 to 32 which have been changed compared to the original remote control pulses 19 to 24 and which are mainly of duration are extended by the transit time difference t 3 .
- the time interval t 4 from each start 33 to 38 the respective remote control pulses 27 to 32 smaller than the long duration of 2 t of a remote control pulse 20, 21 or 23 and is selected to be greater than the sum of the short duration t 1 of a remote control pulse 19, 22 or 24 and the length 1 3, to which this short duration t 1 can be extended by a receivable reflection 25 of the sound waves. This results in a clearly interference-free distinction between long and short remote control pulses.
- the time interval t 4 of the respective evaluation time 39 to 44 from the respective start 33 to 38 on the remote control pulses 27 to 32 is selected to be at least twice as large as the short duration t 1 of a short pulse 19, 22 or 24
- a time interval t 5 is provided between an end 45 of a remote control pulse of long duration (see pulse sequence 18), for example remote control pulse 20, and an beginning 35 'of a subsequent remote control pulse, for example remote control pulse 21 is selected as the duration t 2 of a long-time remote control pulse, for example remote control pulse 20, 21 and 23.
- the remote control pulses 20, 21 and 23 of long duration t 2 due to reflections at a very large transit time difference t 3 there is a time interval between the beginnings 34 'and 35' of two remote control pulses, e.g. 20 and 21 t 6 is provided, which is selected at least twice as long as the duration t 2 of a long-time remote control pulse, for example remote control pulse 23.
- the duration t 2 of a long-time remote control pulse for example remote control pulse 23 is chosen at least twice as long as the duration t 1 of a short-time remote control pulse, for example remote control pulse 22. This makes an even better distinction between long and short remote control pulses when reflections occur.
- FIG. 2 also shows a reflected pulse sequence 46 which, compared to the directly received pulse sequence 18, has a large transit time difference t 7 , which is greater than the transit time difference t 3 .
- a pulse train 47 When superimposed with the pulse train 18, this leads to a pulse train 47 to be evaluated.
- the pulse train 47 contains reflected pulses 48 to 50, which are separated from the remote control pulses 19 ', 22' and 24 '.
- a special blanking is provided, the blanking signal of which is shown as blanking pulse sequence 51 in FIG.
- this blanking pulse sequence 51 has a variable duration t 8 or t s of the blanking time.
- the variable duration t 8 or t s of the blanking time begins after each end 52 or 53 of an end 52 of the pulse 19 ', which can be extended by reflection, or an end 53 of a remote control pulse 20' which is extended by reflection, see pulse sequence 47.
- the variable duration t 8 of the blanking time is automatically adapted to the duration t 10 of a pause which remains between the end of the remote control pulse 19 'which can be extended by reflection and the beginning of the subsequent remote control pulse 20'.
- variable duration ts of blanking is automatically adapted to the duration t11 of a pause which remains between the end 53 of the remote control pulse 20 'extended by reflection and the beginning of a subsequent remote control pulse 21'. The same happens automatically in relation to the other remote control pulses.
- the result is a pulse train 55 to be evaluated, which has no separate reflected pulses.
- the evaluation circuit 10 contained in FIG. 1 is shown in more detail in FIG.
- the limiter circuit also shown in FIG. 1, the Schmitt trigger 9, prevents particularly weak remote control pulses, in particular weak reflected remote control pulses, from reaching the evaluation circuit 10. This additionally improves the security against disturbances in the evaluation due to reflections.
- the remote control pulses are formed from a certain number of acoustic vibrations, for example ultrasonic vibrations.
- a remote control pulse of long duration t 2 contains a larger number of ultrasonic vibrations (carrier frequency vibrations) than a remote control pulse of short duration ti, corresponding to its duration t 2 (envelope curve).
- a pulse shaping circuit (a further limiter circuit) 56.
- the number of these 25 kHz pulses is predetermined by the long duration t 2 or short duration t 1 of the remote control pulses.
- Each time duration ti, t 2 thus corresponds to a specific one Number of countable pulses.
- the 25 kHz pulses are fed to a pulse counter 57 and a monoflop 58 at the same time.
- the monoflop 58 has a service life in the order of the duration of an oscillation period of the sound waves used for remote control.
- the monoflop is only set about as long or slightly longer than a pulse from the carrier frequency signal, for example a 25 kHz pulse, is present.
- the start and end of a remote control pulse (envelope curve) can thus be clearly represented at the output of the monoflop 58.
- the output signal of the monoflop 58 which consequently corresponds at least approximately to the remote control pulses, for example 19 to 24, and signals the beginning and end of a remote control pulse, is fed to a control unit 59.
- the carrier-frequency pulses are counted in the pulse counter 57.
- the pulse counter 57 is controlled by the control unit 59, for example resetting to zero and / or aborting the counting process when the number of pulses falls outside a predetermined frame. It is thus possible to abort the counting process if, for example, a minimum number of counting pulses is not reached, which includes a remote control pulse 19, 20 or 24 of short duration t 1 .
- the counting process can be terminated if a number of counting pulses has been counted which is greater than the number which corresponds, for example, to the duration t 2 of a long pulse which has been lengthened by reflection.
- a certain number of carrier frequency pulses which must at least be reached in order to obtain a remote control pulse of long duration, can also be assigned according to the time interval t 4 of the evaluation time 39 to 44, which is intended to distinguish between remote control pulses of short and long duration to recognize t 2 .
- the transmission rate of remote control pulses can become relatively large, since the number of carrier frequency pulses that can be evaluated per unit of time increases with increasing frequency.
- the control unit 59 is connected to a circuit 60 for generating the blanking pulses 51 with a variable duration t 8 , ts and optionally with a blanking time ti 3 . Since the control unit 59 is signaled by the monoflop 58 at the beginning and end of each remote control pulse, for example also the end of a remote control pulse extended by reflection, the variable blanking according to the invention can be implemented with little design effort, for example using monoflops with different service lives.
- a service life is adapted to the duration t 6 between two remote control pulses and the other service life is additionally adapted to a duration t 12 of a pause between remote control pulses (data words) combined in groups.
- the monoflops (not shown) used for blanking are started by each start of a remote control pulse signaled by the monoflop 58.
- a release (forwarding) by the control unit 59 as blanking signal 51 takes place, however, only when the monoflop 58 has signaled an end of a pulse, for example 52 or 53, of a remote control pulse or a group of remote control pulses, which can be extended by reflections.
- a large blanking time t 13 can also be achieved, as a result of which interference between two groups (data words) of remote control pulses can also be suppressed.
- a monoflop is sufficient to generate the blanking times t 8 and ts, since the time interval t 6 between remote control pulses of a group is always the same.
- the pulses 19 to 23 are combined to form a group by the same pulse spacing t 6 , which is followed by a further group starting with the remote control pulse 24 after the longer pause t 12 .
- the control unit 59 in FIG. 3 not only recognizes remote control pulses of short and long duration, but also data words with a certain number of remote control pulses, which are separated by the larger pulse interval ti 2 .
- a shift register 61 is controlled accordingly by the control unit 59. As soon as a predetermined number of remote control pulses 19 to 23 for a data word has been reached, this is fed to the data decoder 11, which in turn then sets the desired function in the hearing aid, for example setting the running strength via the electronically adjustable volume control 12.

Abstract
Description
- Figur 1 ein prinzipielles Blockschaltbild einer erfindungsgemäßen Fernsteuereinrichtung in Verbindung mit einem Hörgerät;
