Definitions
- the invention relates to a connector for spacer hollow profiles of insulating glass panes with the features in the preamble of the main claim.
- Such a connector is known from EP 0 133 655. It is designed as a cast part and has trough-shaped triangular openings in its central web. These are used for positive engagement with wall deformations in the spacer hollow profile.
- Such a connector is relatively expensive as a cast part made of plastic, zinc or the like.
- Another disadvantage is the increased cost of materials, which is due to the high central web thickness that is required to form the trough openings. Due to its limited depth and the sloping walls, the trough shape also does not allow optimal wall deformation of the hollow profiles and optimal form fit.
- a further disadvantage is that the known connector has a protruding rib as a stop for the attached hollow profiles, which undesirably distances the hollow profiles from one another at the connection point.
- connectors in conventional design are known in different embodiments, for example from EP 283 689 or DE-OS 34 08 600. These connectors are held in the hollow profiles only by a clamp connection via their retaining lugs. This fastening option is insufficient for some applications.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of demonstrating a more economical plug connector or a plug connection which offers better fastening options.
- the invention solves this problem with the features in the main claim.
- the connector according to the invention is manufactured as a stamped and bent part from sheet steel and is therefore less expensive than a cast connector.
- the openings in the central web are designed as punched-out wall openings.
- the top wall of a plugged-on hollow profile can be deformed into these wall openings, so that a positive connection with high retention force against undesired pulling out of the connector from the hollow profile is produced.
- the plug connection can also be secured by rivets or the like other retention elements used.
- the through opening formed as a wall opening has particular advantages in terms of security.
- a wall deformation in the hollow profile can be shaped as deeply as it reaches through the through opening. It is therefore not limited in depth, as is the case with the previously known trough-shaped opening.
- the wall deformation can also be pressed over the full area through the through opening, so that there is a tight and tight system on all sides, which increases the bond security.
- the thin-walled central web of a connector designed as a stamped and bent part also has the advantage that it is particularly well locked against a pull-out movement of the connector and rather cuts into the wall deformation of the hollow profile. In the case of a trough-shaped recess, the sloping trough walls could possibly cause the sloping wall deformation to slide off.
- the connector according to the invention has retaining lugs only on the side webs. They serve for lateral guidance and as an additional pull-out lock. At the junction of the hollow profiles, i.e. Usually in the middle area of the connector, retaining lug pairs also act as a stop to limit the depth of penetration when the hollow profiles are plugged on. Of particular advantage is the fact that the stop has only a temporary function and does not cause the hollow profiles to be distanced. It disappears when the second hollow profile is attached.
- the central web is smooth-walled and preferably has no retaining lugs.
- the connector according to the invention is designed as a straight connector. In a variation, it can also be designed as a corner bracket. It is particularly suitable for spacer frames for insulating glass panes. These preferably consist of light metal hollow profiles, which are usually produced by extrusion. In addition, however, hollow profiles made of other metals can also be used and those made in a different way, for example by rolling.
- the connector or plug connection according to the invention is not limited to spacer frames, but can also be extended for other types and areas of application of hollow profiles. Further advantageous refinements of the invention are specified in the subclaims.
- the connectors can have open or closed end faces.
- the connector in particular in the version as a straight connector, can also have a counterbore for receiving a sealing compound, an adhesive or the like.
- a connector 1 is shown in plan view, side view and end view, which is designed as a straight connector for attached hollow profiles (5) of spacer frames for insulating glass panes.
- the connector (1) can also be designed as a corner bracket.
- the plug connector (1) has an essentially U-shaped cross section with a central web (2) and bent side webs (3) adjoining it on both sides.
- the connector (1) is manufactured and tempered as a thin-walled stamped and bent part made of sheet steel. It has a wall thickness of preferably approximately 0.5 mm.
- the roof edges of the hollow profile (5) are designed as beveled transitions, a similar bevel being present between the central web (2) and side webs (3) of the plug connector (1).
- another cross-sectional shape, rectangular, prismatic, oval or the like can be selected.
- the connector (1) has at the exposed edges of both side webs (3) several retaining lugs (6) which are bent out laterally and possibly downwards. These are punched out through a recess and each point against the insertion direction (15) of the associated hollow profile (5).
- the retaining tabs can also be arranged in the central side web area.
- connection point (21) of the two hollow profiles (5) which is preferably in the region of the central transverse axis or center (4) of the connector (1), there are two resilient retaining lugs (6) in each case on both side webs (3) in the immediate vicinity of one another arranged and exposed by a common T-shaped die cut. They point towards each other and thereby form a stop (7) for the hollow profiles (5) attached from both sides.
- the connector (1) can thus be inserted into the hollow profiles (5) with an exact insertion depth, which is advantageous for the positive connection described below.
- the retaining lugs (6) functioning as stops (7) are designed as elongated tongues and are preferably only bent out over time.
- the other eight retaining tabs (6) are exposed through a wider punch cut that creates a recess.
- the retaining lugs (6) have the shape of pointed corners and are bent out at an angle.
- wall openings (8) are arranged in the central web (2) of the plug connector (1) and are punched out as essentially triangular openings. They are arranged on the longitudinal axis (14) and distributed symmetrically in pairs with respect to the central transverse axis (4). The triangular wall openings (8) point with their tips (9) in pairs to the nearest face (12).
- the tips (9) thus also each point in the direction of insertion (15) of the associated hollow profiles (5).
- the wall openings (8) have no exact triangular shape.
- the base (10) does not connect directly to the flanks of the tip (9), but is set back somewhat.
- the wall openings (8) can also be provided in a different number and arrangement. However, an axisymmetric distribution with respect to the center (4) is recommended.
- the triangular shape can also be modified.
- the tip (9) should be maintained with its orientation.
- the invention also relates to the connector with the hollow profiles (5).
- a positive connection with the attached hollow profiles (5) is also provided for fastening the connector (1).
- Fig. 1 shows the first variant with a riveted joint.
- the central web (2) lies flat and preferably over the entire surface of the roof wall (17) of the hollow profile (5).
- the roof wall (17) preferably faces the outside of the frame and has a plurality of continuous recesses (20) which are distributed and arranged in accordance with the wall openings (8) in the plug connector (1). If the connector (1) is in the hollow profile (5) and rests with the stop (7) on its end wall, the wall openings (8) and the recesses (20) in the roof wall (17) are congruent one above the other.
- both hollow profiles (5) abut each other tightly and essentially seamlessly, and both of them are positioned exactly with their recesses (20) in relation to the wall openings (8) in the connector.
- the hollow profiles (5) can afterwards differently or simultaneously on the connector.
- rivets (18) are inserted and tightened through the wall openings (8, 20).
- the rivets (18) form at least partially in the tips (9) of the wall openings (8).
- the tips (9) also achieve a wedge effect, which urges and braces the hollow profiles (5) to the connection point (21). It also has a stabilizing effect when the connector (1) is pulled out.
- Fig. 2 shows the second variant of the positive connection.
- a wall deformation (19) engages in a form-fitting manner in and through the wall openings (8). It is also preferably located on the outside of the frame.
- the wall deformation (19) is created by caulking with appropriate stamps (not shown) which press the roof wall (17) down and plastically deform it.
- the connector (1) is precisely positioned in the hollow profiles (5) and thus also an exact assignment of the wall openings (8) to the aforementioned stamps.
- the wall deformations (19) are preferably pressed through on the full surface of the wall openings (8), the cross section of the stamps preferably being circular.
- the wall deformation (19) lies completely on the edges of the wall openings (8), which ensures a firm positive fit.
- the wall openings (8) are punched out by a straight cut and have thin, vertical edges. They are firmly gripped by the wall deformation (19).
- Fig. 2 also shows a modification in the shape of the connector (1), which otherwise corresponds to the embodiment of Figure 1.
- a transverse depression (11) is provided in the area of the center (4). This is created by embossing and lowering the center bar during manufacture.
- the depression (11) is located at the connection point (21) of the attached hollow profiles (5) and takes up a sealing compound, an adhesive or the like (not shown).
- the wall openings (8) adjoin the countersink (11) on both sides with some clearance.
- the connector (1) is closed on the front.
- the central web (2) is bent downward at both ends to form an oblique end cover (13).
- a straight connector (1) is preferably mounted in the hollow profiles (5) in such a way that its central web (2) faces the outside of the spacer frame.
- the cavity (16) located in the U-shaped connector (1) then faces the inside of the frame and thus the inner surface of the insulating glass pane.
- the spacer frame and the connector (1) are filled with a desiccant, preferably in granular form, which is also connected to the inside of the insulating glass pane in the area of the connector (1) via bores in the hollow profile wall.
- FIGS. 3 and 4 show a modified connector (1) which is open at the end. Otherwise, the plug connectors (1) correspond to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2.
- the central web (2) is only slightly lowered in FIGS. 3 and 4 and thereby creates a through opening on the end face.
- the cavity (16) of the connector (1) is axially completely through. This allows the desiccant to flow through and the spacer frame to be filled with plug-in connectors (1).
- the connector (1) can preferably be mounted in the hollow profiles (5) in such a way that its central web (2) faces the inside of the frame and the inside of the insulating glass pane.
Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a connector for spacer hollow profiles of insulating glass panes with the features in the preamble of the main claim.
Such a connector is known from EP 0 133 655. It is designed as a cast part and has trough-shaped triangular openings in its central web. These are used for positive engagement with wall deformations in the spacer hollow profile. Such a connector is relatively expensive as a cast part made of plastic, zinc or the like. Another disadvantage is the increased cost of materials, which is due to the high central web thickness that is required to form the trough openings. Due to its limited depth and the sloping walls, the trough shape also does not allow optimal wall deformation of the hollow profiles and optimal form fit. A further disadvantage is that the known connector has a protruding rib as a stop for the attached hollow profiles, which undesirably distances the hollow profiles from one another at the connection point.
Other connectors in conventional design are known in different embodiments, for example from EP 283 689 or DE-OS 34 08 600. These connectors are held in the hollow profiles only by a clamp connection via their retaining lugs. This fastening option is insufficient for some applications.
The invention is therefore based on the object of demonstrating a more economical plug connector or a plug connection which offers better fastening options.
The invention solves this problem with the features in the main claim.
The connector according to the invention is manufactured as a stamped and bent part from sheet steel and is therefore less expensive than a cast connector. In the connector according to the invention, the openings in the central web are designed as punched-out wall openings. The top wall of a plugged-on hollow profile can be deformed into these wall openings, so that a positive connection with high retention force against undesired pulling out of the connector from the hollow profile is produced. In a variation of a wall deformation, the plug connection can also be secured by rivets or the like other retention elements used.
The through opening formed as a wall opening has particular advantages in terms of security. On the one hand, a wall deformation in the hollow profile can be shaped as deeply as it reaches through the through opening. It is therefore not limited in depth, as is the case with the previously known trough-shaped opening. The wall deformation can also be pressed over the full area through the through opening, so that there is a tight and tight system on all sides, which increases the bond security. The thin-walled central web of a connector designed as a stamped and bent part also has the advantage that it is particularly well locked against a pull-out movement of the connector and rather cuts into the wall deformation of the hollow profile. In the case of a trough-shaped recess, the sloping trough walls could possibly cause the sloping wall deformation to slide off.
The connector according to the invention has retaining lugs only on the side webs.
The central web is smooth-walled and preferably has no retaining lugs.
In the preferred embodiment, the connector according to the invention is designed as a straight connector.
The connector or plug connection according to the invention is not limited to spacer frames, but can also be extended for other types and areas of application of hollow profiles. Further advantageous refinements of the invention are specified in the subclaims. In particular, the connectors can have open or closed end faces. In the area of the central transverse axis, the connector, in particular in the version as a straight connector, can also have a counterbore for receiving a sealing compound, an adhesive or the like.

In Figures 1 to 4, a
Er besitzt eine Wandstärke von vorzugsweise ca. 0,5 mm.As illustrated in FIG. 1, the plug connector (1) has an essentially U-shaped cross section with a central web (2) and bent side webs (3) adjoining it on both sides. The connector (1) is manufactured and tempered as a thin-walled stamped and bent part made of sheet steel. It has a wall thickness of preferably approximately 0.5 mm.
It is adapted with its cross section to the shape of the hollow profiles (5) and guided therein. In the exemplary embodiment shown, the roof edges of the hollow profile (5) are designed as beveled transitions, a similar bevel being present between the central web (2) and side webs (3) of the plug connector (1). Alternatively, another cross-sectional shape, rectangular, prismatic, oval or the like can be selected.
The connector (1) has at the exposed edges of both side webs (3) several retaining lugs (6) which are bent out laterally and possibly downwards. These are punched out through a recess and each point against the insertion direction (15) of the associated hollow profile (5). Alternatively, the retaining tabs can also be arranged in the central side web area.
At the connection point (21) of the two hollow profiles (5), which is preferably in the region of the central transverse axis or center (4) of the connector (1), there are two resilient retaining lugs (6) in each case on both side webs (3) in the immediate vicinity of one another arranged and exposed by a common T-shaped die cut. They point towards each other and thereby form a stop (7) for the hollow profiles (5) attached from both sides. The connector (1) can thus be inserted into the hollow profiles (5) with an exact insertion depth, which is advantageous for the positive connection described below.
The retaining lugs (6) functioning as stops (7) are designed as elongated tongues and are preferably only bent out over time. The other eight retaining tabs (6) are exposed through a wider punch cut that creates a recess. The retaining lugs (6) have the shape of pointed corners and are bent out at an angle.
Die dreieckigen Wanddurchbrüche (8) weisen mit ihren Spitzen (9) paarweise zur jeweils nächstgelegenen Stirnseite (12).Four wall openings (8) are arranged in the central web (2) of the plug connector (1) and are punched out as essentially triangular openings. They are arranged on the longitudinal axis (14) and distributed symmetrically in pairs with respect to the central transverse axis (4). The triangular wall openings (8) point with their tips (9) in pairs to the nearest face (12).
Die Spitzen (9) zeigen damit jeweils auch in Einsteckrichtung (15) der zugehörigen Hohlprofile (5).The tips (9) thus also each point in the direction of insertion (15) of the associated hollow profiles (5).
The wall openings (8) have no exact triangular shape. The base (10) does not connect directly to the flanks of the tip (9), but is set back somewhat. In a departure from the embodiment shown, the wall openings (8) can also be provided in a different number and arrangement. However, an axisymmetric distribution with respect to the center (4) is recommended. The triangular shape can also be modified. However, the tip (9) should be maintained with its orientation.
In addition to the design of the connector (1), the invention also relates to the connector with the hollow profiles (5). In addition to the retaining lugs (6), a positive connection with the attached hollow profiles (5) is also provided for fastening the connector (1).
There are several options for the positive connection.
Fig. 1 shows the first variant with a riveted joint. The central web (2) lies flat and preferably over the entire surface of the roof wall (17) of the hollow profile (5). The roof wall (17) preferably faces the outside of the frame and has a plurality of continuous recesses (20) which are distributed and arranged in accordance with the wall openings (8) in the plug connector (1). If the connector (1) is in the hollow profile (5) and rests with the stop (7) on its end wall, the wall openings (8) and the recesses (20) in the roof wall (17) are congruent one above the other.
When the second hollow profile (5) is attached, the resilient retaining lug (6) acting as a stop (7) is bent back and disappears in the hollow profile (5). Thus, at the connection point (21), both hollow profiles (5) abut each other tightly and essentially seamlessly, and both of them are positioned exactly with their recesses (20) in relation to the wall openings (8) in the connector. The hollow profiles (5) can afterwards differently or simultaneously on the connector.
After joining one or both hollow profiles (5) with the plug connector (1), rivets (18) are inserted and tightened through the wall openings (8, 20). The rivets (18) form at least partially in the tips (9) of the wall openings (8). The tips (9) also achieve a wedge effect, which urges and braces the hollow profiles (5) to the connection point (21). It also has a stabilizing effect when the connector (1) is pulled out.
Fig. 2 shows the second variant of the positive connection. Instead of the rivet (18), a wall deformation (19) engages in a form-fitting manner in and through the wall openings (8). It is also preferably located on the outside of the frame. The wall deformation (19) is created by caulking with appropriate stamps (not shown) which press the roof wall (17) down and plastically deform it. Through the stops (7) in the manner described above, the connector (1) is precisely positioned in the hollow profiles (5) and thus also an exact assignment of the wall openings (8) to the aforementioned stamps.
The wall deformations (19) are preferably pressed through on the full surface of the wall openings (8), the cross section of the stamps preferably being circular. The wall deformation (19) lies completely on the edges of the wall openings (8), which ensures a firm positive fit. The wall openings (8) are punched out by a straight cut and have thin, vertical edges. They are firmly gripped by the wall deformation (19).
Die Wanddurchbrüche (8) schließen beidseits mit etwas Abstand an die Senkung (11) an.Fig. 2 also shows a modification in the shape of the connector (1), which otherwise corresponds to the embodiment of Figure 1. A transverse depression (11) is provided in the area of the center (4). This is created by embossing and lowering the center bar during manufacture. The depression (11) is located at the connection point (21) of the attached hollow profiles (5) and takes up a sealing compound, an adhesive or the like (not shown). The wall openings (8) adjoin the countersink (11) on both sides with some clearance.
In the embodiment of Figures 1 and 2, the connector (1) is closed on the front. For this purpose, the central web (2) is bent downward at both ends to form an oblique end cover (13). In this embodiment, a straight connector (1) is preferably mounted in the hollow profiles (5) in such a way that its central web (2) faces the outside of the spacer frame. The cavity (16) located in the U-shaped connector (1) then faces the inside of the frame and thus the inner surface of the insulating glass pane. The spacer frame and the connector (1) are filled with a desiccant, preferably in granular form, which is also connected to the inside of the insulating glass pane in the area of the connector (1) via bores in the hollow profile wall.
Dies ermöglicht ein Durchfließen des Trockungsmittels und ein Befüllen des Abstandshalterrahmens mit eingesteckten Steckverbindern (1).Figures 3 and 4 show a modified connector (1) which is open at the end. Otherwise, the plug connectors (1) correspond to the embodiments shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The central web (2) is only slightly lowered in FIGS. 3 and 4 and thereby creates a through opening on the end face. The cavity (16) of the connector (1) is axially completely through. This allows the desiccant to flow through and the spacer frame to be filled with plug-in connectors (1).
In this embodiment, the connector (1) can preferably be mounted in the hollow profiles (5) in such a way that its central web (2) faces the inside of the frame and the inside of the insulating glass pane.
