Definitions
- the present invention relates to the field of interlining, that is to say the reinforcement of textile articles by fixing on the back of said article of a reinforcing element, it relates more particularly to a fusible interlining, because that the reinforcing element called interlining has on its surface a resin whose adhesive properties are revealed by heat and that the fixing of this interlining is obtained by applying the interlining on the back of the textile article under a certain pressure and at a determined temperature.
- Nonwovens are now commonly used as interfacing.
- the cohesion of the nonwoven is achieved either by the addition of binders or by localized thermofusion, applying either, in the case of a mixture of fibers, only to the so-called hot melt fibers with the lowest melting point, or in the case of a single-component nonwoven on all of the fibers of the nonwoven.
- Document EP.0.363.254 discloses a fusible interlining consisting of a nonwoven free of binder and, the bonding being non-thermal, free of additional hot-melt fibers. The aim was, in this case, to find a fusible interfacing of this type which is not crossed by the fusible resin even in the case of a low grammage.
- this object was fulfilled with a nonwoven consisting of a sheet whose grammage was between 50 and 150 produced from microfilaments of average diameter between 3 and 5 micrometers and whose intermingling was obtained by high pressure fluid jet.
- the intended goal could only be achieved for grammages of at least 50.
- the current evolution of the interlining favors the grammages lower than 50, for example from 17 to 25 g / m2 for the blouses, from 25 to 35 g / m2 for the interlining in front of feminine clothing.
- the problem is therefore to find a fusible interfacing with a weight per square meter of less than 50 g / m2 which does not present a risk of crossing the fusible resin.
- This problem is perfectly solved by the fusible interfacing, object of the invention.
- This fusible interlining consists in a known manner of a nonwoven covered on one face with dots of fusible resin, the nonwoven being a sheet of fibers, free of binder. According to the invention, this sheet has a grammage of less than 50 and is produced from fibers whose average diameter is between 1 and 5 micrometers.
- the nonwoven described in document EP.279 511 has a weight per square meter, of between 10 and 40 g, but the titration of the fibers which compose it is much higher than that of the fibers of the invention, since is between 0.5 and 8 denier, knowing that the maximum average diameter of the fibers according to the invention is 5 micrometers, which is equivalent to a titration of about 0.27 denier.
- microfibers the average diameter of which is between 1 and 5 micrometers, allows the production of nonwoven with a weight of less than 50 g / m2 and that such a nonwoven is capable of receiving a heat-bonding resin without passing through it and is therefore suitable for its use as interlining.
- the fibers are intermingled by the action of high pressure fluid jets.
- the consolidation of the sheet is obtained by thermofusion in particular using a point-to-point heating cylinder.
- It can be a tablecloth made up of a single category of microfibers; in this case, at each point of application of the cylinder, all of the fibers making up the sheet are melted and form the connection points.
- It may be a sheet made up of a mixture of categories of fibers with differentiated melting points; in this case, the heating cylinder being at an intermediate temperature between the lowest melting point and the highest melting point, only the so-called hot melt fibers - at the lowest melting point - are melted at each point of application of the cylinder and form the bonding points on the other fibers.
- It may be a sheet made of fibers, with locally differentiated melting point, obtained by spinning a mixture of constituents, having different melting points; in this case, the heating cylinder being at an intermediate temperature between the lowest melting point and the highest melting point, only the hot-melt zones of the fibers, that is to say the zones with melting point the below, are melted at each point of application of the cylinder and form the bonding points by gluing on the other non-hot-melt zones.
- the constituent fibers of the sheet are based on polyamide.
- the interlining obtained has better resilience than with fibers, for example polyester-based.
- the abovementioned process is carried out with a polyamide 6 as thermoplastic material in an amount of 30 to 35% of a polyamide having a melting point of approximately 130 ° C. and from 65 to 70% of a polyamide having a melting point of approximately 220 ° C., the temperature of the engraved cylinder being between 140 ° and 160 ° C.
- the temperature of the heating cylinder (s) and the pressure exerted on the web by the cylinders are adjusted so that the fusion of the fibers or hot-melt zones occurs preferably towards the face of the web in contact with the engraved cylinder and the heat-bonding resin. is placed on the other side of the sheet.
- Figure 1 is a schematic side view of the installation for manufacturing a non-cohesive sheet of microfibers with locally differentiated melting points.
- Figure 2 is a schematic side view of the point-to-point calendering installation of the web.
- Figure 3 is a schematic side view of the installation of binding of the web by intermingling of microfibers.
- the installation for manufacturing the sheet 1 comprises an extruder 2 fitted with a hopper 3.
- This hopper 3 is filled with granules 4.5 of two types of polyamide 6.
- the polyamide corresponding to the first type of granule 4 has a normal temperature of melting, of the order of 220 ° C.
- the polyamide corresponding to the second type of granule 5 has a low melting temperature, of the order of 130 ° C.
- the 4.5 granules were introduced into the hopper 3 in the form of a homogeneous mixture, comprising 35% of granules 4 of the first type and 65% of granules 5 of the second type.
- the hopper 3 is maintained under a neutral gas, for example nitrogen, introduced by an inlet tube 6, in order to prevent the water vapor of the ambient atmosphere from coming into contact with polyamide in the molten state.
- a neutral gas for example nitrogen
- the polyamide is brought to a temperature of the order of 250 ° C., it is kneaded and driven towards the die 7 by means of a connecting element 8.
- a metal mesh filter is placed in the connecting element 8 to retain any impurities contained in the 4.5 polyamide granules.
- the spinning die 7 has holes having a diameter of 300 micrometers, aligned in the same row, at the rate of one to two holes per mm.
- an endless belt 9 is kept stretched between two drums 10 and 11, one of which 11 is rotated by conventional means not shown.
- the mat 9 is a metallic grid, permeable to air.
- a suction box 12 is placed immediately under the upper strand of the carpet 9.
- the molten polyamide is forced by the extruder 2 through the holes in the die 7 while a stream of air heated to 250 ° C. is introduced through the channel 13, at a pressure of between 0.5 and 5 bars, preferably 3 bars.
- This hot air is directed to rectangular outlet orifices, drilled in the die in the immediate vicinity of the wiring holes.
- the polyamide leaving the spinning holes is driven at high speed by the jet of hot air; it undergoes a significant stretching, which brings its average diameter between 1 and 5 micrometers.
- the violence of the air jet causes breaks in the flow of the polyamide, so that one can speak of microfibers in the case of discontinuous filaments.
- the same micro-fiber 14 Due to the presence in the hopper 3 of two types of granules 4,5, the same micro-fiber 14 has heterogeneities in composition with zones 15 having a temperature of 130 ° C melting and zones 16 having a melting temperature of 220 ° C.
- the microfibers thus produced are projected onto the carpet 9, maintained by the suction coming from the box 12 on the carpet 9 in the form of a sheet 1 which does not yet have cohesion.
- the sheet has a weight per square meter of less than 50, depending on the feed conditions of the extruder 2 and the speed of the belt 9. For a sheet with a grammage of 30 g / m2, 90% of the filaments had a diameter between 1 and 5 micrometers.
- the sheet 1 obtained passes over the thermal bonding installation (FIG. 2).
- the sheet 1 is wound on leaving the mat 9; in this case, it is preferable to insert a polyethylene sheet during winding so as to avoid poor subsequent unwinding of the sheet 1.
- the thermal bonding installation comprises two cylinders 17,18 between which the web 1 passes.
- the lower cylinder 17 has a smooth surface.
- the upper cylinder 18 is a cylinder engraved according to a relief forming teeth 19 regularly spaced. Each tooth 19 has an outer surface 20 of square shape.
- the upper cylinder 18 is equipped with a heating device, not shown, which brings the teeth 19 to a temperature between 140 and 160 ° C.
- the ply 1 is introduced between the two cylinders 17, 18, driven in rotation according to the arrows F and G so that the ply 1 is driven in displacement.
- the portion 21 of ply in contact with the surface 20 of a tooth 19 of the upper cylinder 18 is progressively compressed between this surface 20 and the smooth surface of the lower cylinder 17.
- the temperature of the tooth causes the zones 15 of the microfibers located in this portion 21, having a melting temperature of 130 ° C.
- the compression of the sheet, concomitant with the localized melting of the microfibers, followed by the cooling of the sheet, causes the bonding of the zones 15 with the other non-melted zones 16 of the microfibers.
- the portion 21 of ply 22, having stayed under a tooth 19, has a first layer 21 a , facing the upper cylinder 18, which constitutes a point of connection of the microfibers, in which all the hot-melt zones 15 have been melted and are bonded to the other zones 16 or between them.
- the second layer 21 b facing the lower cylinder 17, has few molten zones and has a greater volume than the layer 21 a .
- the cohesion of the ply 22 is ensured by the connection points 21 a .
- the consolidated sheet 22 is then coated on the face 23, facing the lower cylinder 17, with a point-by-point coating based on a heat-bonding resin.
- This deposit of resin points is obtained by means of engraved cylinders, the resin being able to be deposited either in the state of paste or in the state of powder. It can also be obtained by means of a perforated cylinder of the printing type in which the dough is fed inside the cylinder, is pushed by a doctor blade through the perforations from the inside towards the outside of the cylinder.
- the sheet 22 on which the dots of resin are deposited then passes through a drying tunnel.
- the fusible resin was in the form of a polyamide paste; it was deposited using a perforated cylinder of the printing type, of 17 mesh, that is to say having 17 holes diagonally over a length of 25.4mm or approximately 44 holes per cm2. Each perforation had a diameter of 0.8mm.
- the fusible interlining thus produced weighs 30g / m2, is perfectly thermally stable. It is suitable for the interlining of all articles of clothing for which a interlining of low grammage is sought, in particular for the fronts in feminine confection, for which the hand and the fall are sought.
- the fusible interlining is placed on the back of the textile piece to be reinforced: strong pressure at a temperature of the order of 110-120 ° C is applied.
- the fusible resin is applied to the back of the textile piece without crossing the sheet.
- the covered article obtained using the fusible interlining of the invention does not show any deterioration after use.
- the hopper 3 was supplied with a single type of polyamide granule having a normal melting temperature, ie 220 ° C.
- the sheet obtained composed of fibers whose average diameter is between 1 and 5 micrometers, has been consolidated using the binding installation shown in FIG. 3.
- This installation comprises an endless belt 24, kept stretched between two drums; in the present example there were three drums 25,26,27 one of which 26 was driven in rotation by means not shown. Above the upper strand of the belt 24 are placed four ramps 28 to 31 of water injectors, supplied under pressures respectively equal to 40 bars for the first injector 28, 60 for the second 29, 70 for the third 30 and 80 for the fourth 31.
- the mat 24 is a metal grid.
- the water which is projected by the injectors and which rebounds on the metal grid displaces the fibers of the sheet 35 relative to each other.
- the texture and the diameter of the metallic wires which constitute the grid are chosen to ensure the best interlacing efficiency at the time of the passage of the web 35 under the injector ramps 28 to 31.
- the diameter of the metallic wires was 0.5 and the grid had an opening of 30, that is to say that the recess between the meshes of the grid represented 30% of the total surface.
- the water is collected in suction boxes placed under the belt 24 in line with the injector ramps 28 to 31, it is recycled by a set of pumps not shown.
- the consolidated sheet 36 enters a drying tunnel 33, then is wound up in the form of a coil 34.
- the nonwoven obtained is smooth, very consistent and is not lint-free. In the present example, it weighed 30 grams per square meter.
- the coating of fusible resin was carried out under the same conditions as above.
- the invention is not limited to the embodiments which have been described by way of non-exhaustive examples. It covers all variants.

Abstract
Description
- a. à mélanger dans la trémie de filage des granulés de deux catégories d'un même matériau thermoplastique, les deux catégories se différenciant par leur point de fusion ;
- b. à filer à l'aide de filière dont les trous ont un diamètre compris entre 200 et 300 micromètres, et à projeter par jet d'air comprimé de 0,5 à 5 bars le matériau thermoplastique à l'état fondu obtenu à partir du mélange précité sur un tapis en déplacement continu se déplaçant à une vitesse telle que l'on réalise une nappe inférieure à 50g/m² sans cohésion de microfibres à point de fusion localement différencié dont le diamètre moyen est compris entre 1 et 5 micromètres ;
- c. à faire passer la nappe entre deux cylindres , au moins l'un d'eux étant un cylindre chauffant, gravé point par point , porté à une température intermédiaire entre les points de fusion des deux catégories précitées ;
