A magnetically applied doctor blade with a preset, doctor blade angle, in other words an angle which is virtually predetermined or adjustable by associated parts of the apparatus, upstream of the doctorblade application point, particularly for rotary (screen cylinder) application, consisting of a doctor blade bar and, inserted into or mounted on the doctor blade bar, a doctor blade element which may possibly be a scraping edge, a scraper blade, a profiled scraper bar, a profiled bar or a doctor roller, and if necessary it may even be composed of two such doctor blade bars, e.g. so-called slotted or split doctor blades, at least one of these parts of the doctor blade (i.e. the doctor blade bar or element) consisting wholly or partly of magnetisable material or being fitted with parts which consist of magnetisable material and in conjunction with a magnetic force generating means, produces the applied pressure of the doctor blade, characterised in that the doctor blade which consists of at least one doctor blade bar and at least one doctor blade working or bearing or sealing element rests freely and movably on the rotary drum, on the screen cylinder or on the application area, being pressed thereon by a magnetic force and in that their position in the rotary drum or on the area intended for application is in the operating condition determined by the action of magnetic force and thus by the disposition, i.e. the location of the means which generate the magnetic field.
  2. A magnetically applied doctor blade according to claim 1, characterised in that the position of the doctor blade which is found automatically by the action of magnetic force can be additionally set by mechanical aids of a doctor blade device, such as for example abutment or fixing parts so that for instance when the magnetic shield is switched off, i.e. outside the operating condition, the position which is adjusted by magnetic force is retained so that when the magnetic field is switched on again, a fresh search is not needed, i.e. a fresh magnetic adjustment is not required.

A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to claim 1 and/or 2, characterised in that the doctor blade (doctor blade bar) while retaining the adjusted position brought about by magnetic force is pivotable axially in its angular position, i.e. about an axis extending longitudinally parallel with the doctor blade (doctor blade bar, doctor blade element) automatically by means of auxiliary mechanical device parts, actuated by magnetic force and as determined by the operating mode, and in that the adjustment and retention of a preset angular position of the doctor blade are carried out by corresponding structural construction of the angular position adjustment parts of the doctor blade device in such a way that the doctor blade remains in any pivoted position in the particular optimum applied position which is automatically chosen, brought about in any operating mode magnetically, i.e. by magnetic force.
  4. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterised in that the doctor blade bar (2) is provided with an extension (15) which rests on a height-adjustable supporting part (13) which adjustably engages a fixed mating member (24).
  5. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the doctor blade bar (2) is provided with an extension (15) associated with each of the two sides of which is an abutment (35, 36; 37, 38) and in that the doctor blade bar (2) is adapted to pivot about an axis (30) extending parallel with the rotary drum or sheet of material.
  6. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that one end of the doctor blade bar forms a fork or sliding block (46) engaged by a web (44) with a controlling profile member (45) and in that the web (44) is rotatable about a journal (42).
  7. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that a height adjustable positioning device (49) comprises a bifurcated aperture (46) engaged by an extension on the doctor blade bar (2) which is provided with a controlling profile member (45).
  8. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the device for adjusting the angular setting of the doctor blade or doctor blade bar (2) is connected by a pivot joint or the like (65) to a spar (60) through a lever arm (64), the spar being pivotally supported in a variable position in a support (63).
  9. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the adjusting and angularly positioning means which provides for the positional and magnetic automatic positioning facility of the doctor blade is constructed with two mutually parallel pivoting axes.
  10. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that an if necessary additionally usable aid is provided in order to fix the doctor blade (doctor blade bar) in one specific pivoted position (angular position of the doctor blade).
  11. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the doctor blade is adjusted and maintained within its two adjustment parameters, i.e. both in its positional and also in its angular position, i.e. in such a way that both adjustment parameters are jointly determined, on the one hand by the aids or device parts which in the operating condition act mechanically or by magnetic force on their magnetisable doctor blade parts.
  12. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that two doctor blade bars each with a doctor blade element inserted therein or mounted thereon are connected to each other or are produced in one piece being designed as so-called slotted or split doctor blades, these doctor blade bars or both doctor blade elements being in an additional and secondary function constructed and used as sealing strips.
  13. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the position of the doctor blade bar can be varied by altering the setting of the position or the magnetic force of the magnetic means.
  14. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the doctor blade bar bears in bendable manner on the round rotary drum or the bearing surface.
  15. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the doctor blade bar bears freely on the rotary drum or bearing surface and in that there is upstream of the bearing area an optionally shaped pressure surface which may also be constructed as a roller.
  16. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the doctor blade bar is mounted at one end or at both ends outside the application area.
  17. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that the pivoting axis of the doctor blade bar is magnetically fixed.
  18. A magnetically applied doctor blade or doctor blade device according to one of the preceding claims, characterised in that for the pivoting or rotating movement of the profiled bar an adjusting device is provided which is disposed at right-angles to or virtually at right-angles to the plane of application.
  19. A doctor blade device, preferably for rotary drum application, which is applied by a magnetic apparatus employing a magnetic force, comprising a doctor blade bar adapted to pivot about an axis extending axially parallel with the rotary drum or a strip of material, characterised in that a supporting spar (60) rests in a variable-position shell-shaped plain bearing (63) and has an extension piece (64) connected by a joint (65) to the doctor blade bar (2) which comprises an element (39) consisting possibly partially of magnetisable material and in that the location of the doctor blade bar (2) is determined by a magnetic arrangement (8) and possibly being also influenced by the perhaps available circular rotary drum (19), its movement and the substance to be applied and in that the doctor blade bar (2) can without a mechanical fixing of the supporting spar (60) be maintained by the magnetic device in the operating condition and in its plain bearing, and in that the doctor blade bar (2) is mount4ed for pivoting movement about the axis which is positionally fixed by the magnetic means or by the magnetic force generated by the magnetic means (8), the pivoted position (the rotation about this axis which can be measured in degrees) by a mechanical assisting means (61, 62) for varying the position of the plain bearing.
  20. A device according to claim 19, characterised in that the supporting spar (60) is adapted for displacement in relation to the doctor blade bearing zone.
  21. A device according to claim 19, characterised in that the joint is constructed as a double-pivot or ball joint.
