Register eingeschaltet sind, ist der auf die Tasten 11 aufzuwendende Druck sowie auch die Tastenrückstellkraft entsprechend hoch, so daß das Tastenspiel des Organisten beeinträchtigt wird. Durch den Einsatz des sogenannten "Barker-Hebels", wird dieser Nachteil wesentlich verbessert.
Jedoch muß die Feder 60 bei langen Abstrakten entsprechend stark ausgebildet sein, damit die Taste schnell genug zurückgeht und somit eine gute Repetition erreicht wird. Der Tastendruck am Spieltisch wird dann jedoch entsprechend dieser Federkraft größer, so daß das Spiel des Organisten negativ beeinflußt wird.

Hierzu ist auf dem zum "Barker-Hebel" gehörenden Arbeitsbalg 3 ein Stellstab 12 vorgesehen, der mit dem Arbeitsbalg 3 die Hubbewegung beschreitet. Der Balg 3 selbst sitzt auf einem Luftströmkanal 25, wobei der Arbeitsbalg bei geöffnetem Ventil 4 und geschlossenem Ventil 5, aufgrund des geschlossenen Drucksystems aufgeblasen ist, wie in Figur 1 dargestellt.

Hierbei greift der Einstellnocken 17 mit seinem Eingriffsbereich 49 unter die Nase 55 des Steuernockens 7 und zieht dabei die Abstrakten (nicht dargestellt) bzw. die Tasten mit zurück, so daß der Ton schnell abspricht und eine entsprechend gute Repetition gewährleistet wird. Kurz bevor der Balg 3 die oberste Position erreicht hat, wird der Steuernocken 7 und der Einstellnocken 17 voneinander getrennt, indem der Kipphebel 19, aktiviert über den Stellstab 12 gegen den Federhebel 16 drückt und somit den Einstellnocken 17 aus der Nase 55 des Steuernockens 7 zieht.
Dies ist wichtig, da sich beim erneuten Niederdrücken der Taste 11 der Steuernocken 7 frei bewegen muß.
