Abstract

To secure a cylinder core (7) of a locking cylinder (3) against being pulled out of the locking-cylinder housing (5) by force, there are proposed retaining pins (41) which are seated in bores (43) of the cylinder core (7) and which are prestressed by springs (45) into, for example, sickle-shaped grooves (47) of the receiving bore (13) of the locking-cylinder housing (5). The retaining pins (41) each have, at their end engaging into the groove (47), a knife-edge cone (51) which widens towards the groove (47) and which, during an attempt to pull the cylinder core (7) forcibly out of the locking-cylinder housing (5), prevents the retaining pin (41) from sliding back into its bore (42). Retaining pins (41) of the foregoing type require only a comparatively small amount of space in the cylinder core (7) which is consequently not needlessly weakened. Furthermore, sufficient constructional space for accommodating additional blocking pins (33) or the like remains in the cylinder core (7). <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a lock cylinder with a lock cylinder housing and a cylinder core rotatably held in a receiving bore of the lock cylinder housing, which contains an axially extending key channel for receiving a flat key, with a plurality of mutually parallel pairs arranged in a row in bores in the lock cylinder housing and the lock cylinder core of spring-loaded tumbler pins, which scan the flat key, and with at least one securing element which is guided in a radially movable manner in a recess in the cylinder core and which is assigned a circumferentially extending, in particular crescent-shaped groove in the inner wall of the receiving bore, into which the securing element at least in which the flat key is removed permitting rotational position of the cylinder core engages radially spring-loaded.

From the German utility models 80 02 395 and 88 13 882, locking cylinders of the above type are known which, in a circular segment-shaped, axially normal groove of the cylinder core, lead a likewise circular segment-shaped securing plate in a radially movable manner. The securing plate is resiliently biased radially outward into a groove in the inner wall of the receiving bore of the lock cylinder housing that rotatably receives the cylinder core. The crescent-shaped groove, for example, receives the securing plate at least in the rotational position of the cylinder core that allows the insertion or removal of the flat key, and in this way secures the cylinder core against violent pulling out of the lock cylinder housing.

The circular segment-shaped securing plate of the known locking cylinder must, if it is to be adequately anchored in the cylinder core, extend comparatively deep into the cylinder core. This weakens the cylinder core in a plane normal to the axis between adjacent pairs of tumbler pins. If the groove receiving the securing plate extends along the flat side of the key channel receiving the flat key, as in the case of the locking cylinder of utility model 88 13 882, the securing plate adjusts the installation space for additional springless locking pins, as described, for example, in German patents 20 03 059 and 31 23 511 are provided in the cylinder core to increase the locking security and the number of possible locking combinations.

From the German patent 25 14 920 it is also known, in a lock cylinder lockable with a cross bit key, radially extending to the key channel of the cylinder core, carbide pins for securing against drilling to provide. The hard metal pins are seated in the holes in the cylinder core and are driven radially outwards into assigned holes in the inner wall of the lock cylinder housing during the drilling attempt. The hard metal pins of the known locking cylinder offer only limited protection against violent pulling out of the cylinder core, since it is not ensured that they will actually be gripped and driven out during the pulling attempt, for example by means of a screw screwed into the key channel.

It is an object of the invention to provide a locking cylinder, the cylinder core of which is secured to a high degree against being pulled out, with securing elements provided for this purpose being said to take up little space in the cylinder core.

This object is achieved on the basis of the locking cylinder explained at the outset in that the securing element is designed as a spring-loaded pin and is guided in a bore of the cylinder core which is angularly offset from the bores of tumbler pins.

A locking pin of this type weakens the cylinder core only comparatively little. The locking pin can be arranged in and of itself in any angular position, based on the tumbler pins, but is preferably arranged at an acute angle to the plane containing the pin axes of the tumbler pins, for example at an angle of approximately 45 °, so that the securing pin largely outside of the area of the key channel that is normally open to the circumference of the cylinder core. This benefits the stability of the cylinder core. In addition, as is provided in a preferred embodiment, the area can be on the side the key channel for the inclusion of additional locking pins are kept free, as described for example in German patents 20 03 059 and 31 23 511.

The locking pin is held in the groove of the lock cylinder housing by the force of a preload spring. In order to prevent the locking pin from sloping when deforming its bore or the groove when trying to pull out the cylinder core and thus sliding back into its bore with the release of the cylinder core, in a preferred embodiment it is provided that the locking pin on its the groove adjacent end has a cone widening towards the groove and tapering in a cutting edge. A conical cutting edge of this type pulls the locking pin in the manner of a chisel edge towards the lock cylinder housing and reliably prevents the locking pin from sliding back into its bore in the cylinder core. The cutting cone can be formed by a conical head which projects beyond the shaft diameter of the securing pin. The locking pins can, however, be produced with less effort if the cone is delimited by an annular groove in the locking pin, since the locking pin can then be produced from rod material.

The end of the securing pin adjacent to the groove expediently has a spherical end face so as to hinder the rotary movement of the cylinder core as little as possible, or for one in the case of crescent-shaped grooves in which the securing pin engages depending on the rotational position of the cylinder core or is lifted out of the groove to ensure the least possible hindrance to the rotary movement.

The end of the locking pin facing away from the groove contains Expediently, an axial guide bore for a spring which prestresses the locking pin radially outwards and which is supported at the other end on the bottom of the receiving bore of the locking pin which is designed as a blind bore. Since the spring is received by the locking pin over part of its length, comparatively long springs can be used, which can also keep the locking pin pre-tensioned in the groove when it is a comparatively deep groove.

In preferred embodiments of the invention, the cylinder core contains more than one of the locking pins explained above. The locking pins are expediently arranged next to one another in at least one row in the axial direction of the cylinder core, in particular at the same distance that the tumbler pins arranged in a row have from one another. In order to ensure that the cylinder core is weakened as evenly as possible, the locking pins are offset against the tumbler pins in the axial direction of the cylinder core.

The locking pins can be provided in several rows, preferably on sides of the tumbler pin row that are opposite one another in the circumferential direction. Two such series have proven to be suitable.

The invention can be used in particular in a locking cylinder with additional locking pins which scan the flat side depressions of the flat key. The holes of the locking pins are angularly offset against the levels of both the tumbler pins and the additional locking pins.

As best shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the cylinder core 7 contains on both sides of the plane containing the pin axes of the tumbler pins 25 and thus on both sides of the key channel 15, rows of stepped bores 31 running transversely to the key channel 15, which pass through to the key channel 15 and stepped additional locking pins 33 slidably included. The additional locking pins 33 have, at their end facing away from the key channel 15, a head 35 which is rounded in the form of a spherical segment and to which a dome-shaped depression 37 of the inner wall of the receiving bore 13 is assigned in the locked position of the locking cylinder (FIG. 2). The additional locking pins 33 scan with their inner end recesses 39 in the flat sides of the flat key 1 and prevent rotation of the cylinder core 7 in addition to the tumbler pins 25, 27 if the locking secret does not match.

As best shown in FIG. 1, the additional locking pins 33 are in turn arranged axially next to one another, the additional locking pins 33 being offset from the tumbler pins 25, 27 by a gap.

In order to prevent the cylinder core 7 from being pulled out of the lock cylinder housing 5, a row of locking pins 41 is arranged on both sides of a plane containing the pin axes of the tumbler pin pairs 25, 27. The locking pins 41 are seated in radial bores 43 of the cylinder core 7 with axes parallel to each other and lying in a common plane per row. The locking pins 41 are made of helical compression springs 45 biased radially outward and engage with their radially outer ends in crescent-shaped grooves 47 of the inner wall of the receiving bore 13 of the lock cylinder housing 5, each assigned to the individual locking pins 41 in the locked position (FIG. 2). In the locked position of the locking cylinder 3, the locking pins 41 thus prevent the cylinder core 7 from being pulled out of the locking cylinder housing 5.

Die Taschenbohrungen 49 vergrößern die verfügbare Federweglänge der Federn 45.In order to enable a comparatively large radial depth of the grooves 47, the springs 45 clamped between the bottom of the bore 43 designed as a blind hole on the one hand and the locking pin 41 on the other hand are seated in pocket bores 49 of the locking pins 41. The pocket bores 49 increase the available travel length of the springs 45.

The ends of the locking pins 41 engaging in the grooves 47 carry a cutting cone 51 which widens towards the groove 47 and is divided by a circumferential keyway 53 from the otherwise cylindrical locking pin 41. When trying to forcefully pull the cylinder core 7 out of the lock cylinder housing 5, the cutting cone 51 ensures that the locking pin 41 cannot slide back into the bore 43. It is understood that the cutting cone 51 does not have to form a sharp-edged cutting edge, it is sufficient if its conical base has a rounded end edge. The radially outer end face 55 of each locking pin 41 is rounded in a convex manner in order to prevent the locking pin 41 from entering and leaving the grooves 47 or the depressions 37 as little as possible when the cylinder core 7 rotates.

The two rows of locking pins 41 are in levels on both sides of the arrangement level of the tumbler pins 25 arranged, the planes of the locking pins 41 between the levels of the additional locking pins 33 on the one hand and the level of the locking pins 25 on the other hand at an angle of approximately 45 ° to the level of the tumbler pins 25. The crescent-shaped grooves 47 do not overlap one another and are limited to an angular range of less than 180 °, so that they do not overlap with the dome-shaped depressions 37 in the circumferential direction.

The locking pins 41 are preferably made of hard metal or hardened steel or bronze.

In the embodiment of the double locking cylinder 3 of FIGS. 1 to 3, the additional locking pins 33 on the one hand and the locking pins 41 on the other hand are each arranged in pairs in common planes such that the rows of the additional locking pins 33 and the locking pins 41 are in a gap against the row of Tumbler pins 25 are offset.

Zur Erläuterung des Aufbaus und der Wirkungsweise wird auf die Beschreibung der Fig. 1 bis 3 Bezug genommen, wobei jedoch in den Fig. 4 bis 6 den Bezugszahlen zur Unterscheidung der Buchstabe a zugefügt ist.4 to 6 show a variant of a double locking cylinder 3a, which differs from the locking cylinder of FIGS. 1 to 3 only in that only the rows of locking pins 41a are offset against the row of tumbler pins 25a, while the Additional locking pins 33a are arranged with respect to their pin axes in common axially normal planes with the tumbler pins 25a. Otherwise, the components of the locking cylinder 3a correspond to the components of the locking cylinder 3. For an explanation of the structure and the mode of operation, reference is made to the description of FIGS. 1 to 3, but in FIGS. 4 to 6 the reference numbers to distinguish the letter a is added.
