Zunächst wird an den Einstellrädern 3 die bisher geltende Öffnungskombination, hier eine Zahlenkombination, eingestellt. Wenn an allen drei Einstellräder 3 die korrekte Ziffer eingestellt ist, liegen infolge der Vorspannung durch die Blattfeder 23 alle federnden Segmente 21 mit der oben erwähnten freien Kante gegen den geraden Umfangsabschnitt 38 der jeweiligen Kupplungsbuchse 8 an, wie in Figur 8 dargestellt. Die Bewegungsbahn, die bei einer Längsverschiebung des Zugriegels 25 von den an ihm ausgebildeten Vorsprüngen 22 durchlaufen wird, ist frei, wie in Figur 8a für ein federndes Segment 21 dargestellt. Durch ein Verschieben des Zugknopfes 2 kann nun der Zugriegel 25 gegen die Kraft des Schenkels 17 der Feder 36 aus dem in Figur 2 dargestellten Schließeingriff mit der Überfalle 9 herausgezogen werden, wie in Figur 7 gezeigt ist. In dieser Stellung des Zugknopfes ist der Betätigungsabschnitt 29 des Codierhebels 1 nicht mehr länger vom Zugknopf 2 abgedeckt. Nunmehr wird ein spitzer Gegenstand, nämlich eine Kugelschreiberspitze, ein kleiner Schraubenzieher od.dgl., in die im Betätigungsabschnitt 29 vorgesehene Vertiefung 26 eingeführt. Der Codierhebel 1 wird dann unter Zurhilfenahme des spitzen Gegenstands aus der in Figur 6 dargestellten Blockierstellung in seine in Figur 5 dargestellte Freigabestellung verschwenkt. Bei dieser Schwenkbewegung des Codierhebels 1 wird das in der Ausnehmung 34 aufgenommene Ende 37 des Lagerbolzens 5 durch die Verstellschräge 6 gegen die Kraft des Schenkels 10 der Feder 36 vom Codierhebel 1 weggedrückt. Mit dem Lagerbolzen 5 werden der Lagerbolzenbund 7 und damit die Kupplungsbuchsen 8 in dieselbe Richtung, d.h. nach links in den Figuren 2 und 7, gedrückt. Hierdurch geraten die inneren, auf den Einstellrädern 3 ausgbildeten Verzahnungen 12 und die äußeren, auf den Kupplungsbuchsen 8 ausgebildeten Verzahnungen 11 außer Eingriff. Die Einstellräder 3 können nunmehr in bezug auf die Kupplungsbuchsen 8 verdreht werden. Eine Zurückstellung des Zugriegels 25 in dessen Schließstellung wird durch die beim Verschwenken des Codierhebels 1 hergestellte Anlage zwischen der Kante 16 des Zugriegels 25 und der Rückwand 15 des Codierhebels 1 verhindert, wie aus Figur 4 hervorgeht. Claims (11)

  1. Combination lock for receptacles, such as trunks, briefcases or the like, with setting wheels (3) for an opening combination which can be altered from the exterior of the receptacle (35), a slide-button (2) for opening the combination lock, and a coding component (1) which can be adjusted from the exterior of the receptacle (35), out of its locking position, in which it prevents alteration of the opening combination, into its opening position, in which it allows alteration of the opening combination, and vice versa, characterised in that, in the rest position of the combination lock, the coding component (1) is covered by the slide-button (2); and in that an actuating portion (29) of the coding component (1) is released by the draw button (2) when the latter is displaced in order to open the combination lock.
  2. Combination lock according to Claim 1, characterised in that the actuating portion (29) of the coding component (1) has dimensions such that it is covered by the thumb or finger actuating or holding the slide-button (2) when the latter is displaced into its opening position.
  3. Combination lock according to either of Claims 1 and 2, characterised in that the coding component (1) comprises on its actuating portion (29) a recess (26) into which a pointed object, for example the tip of a ball-point pen, can be inserted in order to activate the coding component.
  4. Combination lock according to any one of Claims 1 to 3, characterised in that, at its end remote from the actuating portion (29), the coding component (1) comprises a bolt portion (30) of which one end is rotatably mounted in a recess (31) formed in an inner cover plate (28) and of which the other end is rotatably mounted in a recess (32) formed between the cover plate (28) and a housing (18) accommodating inter alia the setting wheels (3).
  5. Combination lock according to any one of Claims 1 to 4, characterised in that the coding component (1) is formed with a projection (33) at the free end of which there is formed a catch recess (14) which can be brought into engagement with catch bosses (13) which are optionally formed on the cover plate (28) and which are positioned such that the coding component (1) can be locked in its locking and opening conditions.
  6. Combination lock according to any one of Claims 1 to 5, characterised in that the coding component (1) comprises a rear wall (15) which, when the coding component (1) is displaced from its locking position into its opening position, engages behind and holds securely an edge (16) of a slide bolt (25) which is brought from its rest position into its opening position by the displacement of the draw-button (2).
  7. Combination lock according to any one of Claims 1 to 6, characterised in that a bearing bolt (5) of the combination lock which supports the setting wheels (3) via coupling bushes (8) can be axially displaced by means of the coding component (1) in such a way that a tooth engagement (11, 12) between the coupling bushes (8) and the setting wheels (3) is released.
  8. Combination lock according to Claim 7, characterised in that one end (37) of the bearing bolt (5) is accommodated in a recess (34) which is formed in the coding component (1) and which comprises an adjusting slope (6) by means of which the one end (37) of the bearing bolt (5) is axially displaced when the coding component (1) is adjusted.
  9. Combination lock according to any one of Claims 1 to 8, characterised in that the coding component is in the form of a coding lever (1).
  10. Combination lock according to Claim 6 and either of Claims 7 and 8, characterised in that the bearing bolt (5) is pretensioned in the direction of the coding component (1) by means of a leg (10) of a spring (36) of which the other leg (17) pretensions the slide bolt (25) in the direction of an engagement position with a closing hasp (9).
  11. Combination lock according to Claims 4 and 6 and either of Claims 7 and 8 or Claim 10, characterised in that one resilient segment (21) in each case is integrally formed for each coupling bush (8) on the housing (18) of the combination lock, which segment (21) is pretensioned by a leaf spring (23) in the direction of the periphery of the coupling bush (8) such that, as a result of rotation of the coupling bush (8) into an opening position, in which the straight edge of the resilient segment (21) abuts the straight peripheral portion (38) of the coupling bush (8), a movement of the draw bolt (25) can be released and, as a result of rotation of the coupling bush (8) into a locking position, in which the straight edge of the resilient segment (21) abuts a round portion of the periphery of the coupling bush (8), a movement of the slide bolt (25) is prevented as a result of its path of movement being blocked.
