Abstract

In reclosable packages for moist cloths, consisting of a plastic film (3) with a punched-out portion on the upper side, in order to avoid loss of moisture in the region of the punched-out portion or corrosion when using composite aluminium foil, it is proposed to arrange a sheet (16, 17) which is impermeable to liquid between the flat upper side of the film and the moist cloths, covering the tear-open line or the punch cut (10, 11) and extending significantly beyond the edges of the punch cut. <IMAGE>

Description

The invention relates to a reclosable packaging for wet wipes or the like according to the preamble of claims 1 and 2 and as known from EP-A-30 348.

A similar packaging is known from EP-A-0 221 168. This known packaging consists of a plastic composite film which, due to its properties, does not form a satisfactory barrier layer for liquids with which the wipes are impregnated. For example, no filling goods with high perfume or alcohol (up to 40%) can be packed in such composite films.

From EP-A-0 030 348 a reclosable packaging for wet wipes or the like is known from an aluminum composite film, on the upper side of which there is a closing flap covering the removal opening and having one end permanently connected to the upper side, between the flat upper side of the film and a liquid-impermeable sheet is arranged on the damp cloths and covers the tear line of the die cut. Here, however, the cover tongue formed by the punched lines is removed, and the closure flap is adhesively connected to the sheet, as a result of which the sheet is pulled out of the removal opening when the cover tab is opened. The sheet roughly fulfills the function of the cover tongue known from EP-PS 0 221 168 with the difference that the edges of the removal opening are covered a little when reclosing. Due to the relatively slight overlap of the sheet when the packaging is still unopened, it cannot be ruled out that the liquid will overcome the short distance to the removal opening. In the case of the aluminum composite films mentioned above, the undesirable corrosion phenomena occur.

However, with the previously known packaging it is not possible to enlarge the sheet as desired. On the one hand, when opening the package, the difficulty would arise that the cutout would not be completely pulled out of the package, so that folds and folds in the Insert sheets are created which prevent the pack from being sealed properly.

On the other hand, the width and length of the sheet must in any case be smaller than the width and length of the closure flap, since this would otherwise no longer adhere to the surface of the package.

The skilled person is thus set narrow limits for dimensioning the sheet when optimizing the known packaging. This also means that a high level of accuracy in the positioning of the sheet must be maintained in the manufacture of the packaging.

It is also known from EP-A-0 193 130 (Fig. 19 + 20 with description page 16, last paragraph) a reclosable packaging for wet wipes made of a moisture-impermeable film, but which is still provided with an outer packaging in which dry wipes are also included.

Here, however, the closure flap is formed from the moisture-impermeable film, and a cover tongue is worked into the liquid-impermeable sheet with a punch cut. With this packaging, however, there is a risk that liquid between the insert sheet and the top of the packaging can get into the area of the punching line and there can lead to corrosion of the aluminum, provided that the packaging consists of an aluminum composite film and escapes from the packaging there.

The invention is therefore based on the object of developing a reclosable packaging for wet wipes or the like of the type mentioned in such a way that when using an aluminum composite film as a moisture-impermeable film while maintaining the previous outer shape, in particular the easy-to-grip fastened on the top of the packaging Closing flap, allows a simple sealing of the perforation line or the die cut in the film, thus preventing corrosion of the aluminum before the first opening and a tight reclosure is guaranteed.

2.The invention solves this problem with the aid of the characterizing features of claims 1 and 2 respectively.

In the case of the packaging according to the invention, a secure seal is achieved by the combination of aluminum composite film, pull tab, the closure flap covering this and the intermediate sheet which extends far beyond the edges of the removal opening. Even if, as in the case of the packaging according to EP-A-0 193 130, a little liquid diffuses between the sheet and the top of the packaging for the die cut, the closure flap securely seals on the top of the packaging. Another advantage is that the packaging according to the invention is cheaper and easier to manufacture than packaging with a closed inner bag for holding the wet wipes and allows the wipes to be accessed with little effort. With the usual degree of impregnation of the wipes, it is in fact sufficient if the tear line or punching is covered by a sheet of a plastic film. Due to the degree of filling of the packaging with the cloths, this sheet is pressed against the inside of the packaging film, so that no moisture can penetrate into the area of the punchings. This avoids liquid leaks from the punch holes and corrosion of the aluminum composite film used as the packaging sleeve.

With a further embodiment of the invention, an even higher tightness can be achieved if the sheet between the wet wipes and the flat inside of the film is inseparably connected to the underside of the film in the area of its edge zones and has an opening (punched out) for the removal of the wet wipes which is smaller than the outline given by the tear line or the die cut. After the adhesive flap has been pulled off, a cover flap is also pulled off along the stamping, thereby simultaneously exposing the removal opening of the sheet.

The packaging consists of a moisture-impermeable plastic-aluminum composite film, the ends of which are connected by means of weld seams 1 and 2 in a manner known from the prior art. On the top 3 of the packaging, an opening is provided, through which the contents of the packaging can be removed. For this purpose, a removal opening 4 is used, which can be opened and closed again by means of a closure flap 5. For this purpose, the closure flap 5 is coated with a pressure-sensitive adhesive 6 and welded along its narrow side by means of a weld seam 7 on the upper side 3. On the opposite narrow side, a handle tongue 8 not coated with adhesive is provided. The closure flap 5 is larger in outline than the removal opening 4, to which it is arranged centrally, so that the closure flap 5 overlaps the edge of the removal opening 4 on all sides and thus seals in the closed state. The removal opening 4 is punched, but the punched-out part has not been removed and can come into contact again when the closure flap is closed and thus covers the top cloth in each case as a tongue 9. Instead of continuous punch lines, perforation lines can also be provided in the upper side 3, but the area facing the grip tongue 8 is fully punched out so that the cover tongue 9 adheres to the closure flap 5 when opened. The cover tongue 9 is not stamped on its end opposite the grip tongue 8, but is here connected in one piece to the material of the upper side 3. The ends of the legs 10, 11 of the punching or perforation thus end blind. This one-piece arrangement ensures that when the cover tongue is closed it lies exactly over the opening 4, that is to say it completely covers the opening 4. Furthermore, since the legs 10, 11 of the punching lines end at or in the weld seam 7, the stiffening or reinforcement takes place, thereby preventing tearing when opening. In addition or in addition, the ends of these punch legs 10, 11 can end in arches directed outwards to the side, thus preventing tearing due to the notch effect. These sheets can also be directed inwards without touching the ends of the punch legs.

Dieses Blatt hat einen größeren Umriß als der durch die Entnahmeöffnung 4 vorgegebene und ist so dimensioniert, daß seine Abmessungen gleich oder größer sind als die Abmessungen der Verschlußklappe 5.Compared to the various embodiments of the invention described, the invention consists in inserting a liquid-impermeable sheet 16 between the stack of non-woven cloths 19 and the inside of the top of the packaging 3, as shown in FIG. 2 or FIG. 3. This sheet has a larger outline than that specified by the removal opening 4 and is dimensioned such that its dimensions are equal to or larger than the dimensions of the closure flap 5.

The sheet can either be inserted loosely or, as indicated in FIG. 4, be glued to the underside of the upper side 3 in the edge regions 17a. However, this sheet 17 then has a removal opening 18 through which the cloths 19 can be removed after the tab 9 has been pulled off.

The sheets 16 or 17 can consist of either a polyethylene film or an aluminum composite film. In any case, the interposition of the sheets 16 and 17 ensures that the punching lines 10, 11 are covered with respect to the sheets 19 and thus no moisture emitted by the sheets can penetrate into this area. This prevents premature loss of moisture and corrosion in the area of the punching.
