Definitions
- WO 89/12 611 contains a process for the disposal of organic waste, in particular organic waste from the canning and food industries, and also oil-containing organic waste.
- the waste is mixed with vegetable waste such as sawdust, shavings, chopped straw, etc. and an activator, the mixture is then moistened, piled up for rent and fermented anaerobically until a temperature of 65 to 70 ° C is reached. It is then moistened again and composted at 40 to 45 ° C under aerobic conditions.
- the material known as the activator, is obtained in a two-stage process from vegetable green mass, chopped reeds, straw, pomace, the mud from the reeds, poultry manure and peat bran.
- Typical mixing ratios in this process are 20 to 25% by weight of waste from the canning industry, 65 to 70% by weight of vegetable waste (structural material), and 5 to 10% by weight of activator.
- the dwell time in the anaerobic rent is 14 to 18 days and in the subsequent aerobic rent 4 to 5 weeks.
- relatively large amounts of structural material and activator are necessary.
- the feedstocks for the process are themselves odorless to low odor. For this reason, no biological and microbially controlled odor reduction is provided, as it plays a dominant role in the practical implementation of biological treatments of animal excrement in order to eliminate the odor problems.
- adapted bacteria are grown in the activated sludge plant of the bio-washer together with the downstream germ-multiplying basin for the decomposition of odorous substances, which bacteria are added to the composting process.
- biochemical conversion of odor-intensive substances e.g. ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans
- the odor-laden exhaust air is extracted and cleaned in the bio-washer and subsequent bio-filter.
- the heavy metal content is in comparison to the minimum quality requirements of ⁇ NORM S 2022, quality criteria for waste compost, and ⁇ NORM S 2021 , Growing media, very low.
- the cadmium content of the compost produced in the invention is only around 10-20% of the conventionally produced composts and growing media.
- the pore volume in the intensive rotting is initially 25% to 60%, preferably 35%, the material density is 0.5 to 1.0 mg / m3, preferably 0.8 mg / m3.
- the stay in the main section is one to eight weeks, preferably three weeks (21 days).
- the exhaust air is preferably sucked off through the rent in ventilation channels located at the bottom of the rotting plate.
- a volume-adjustable suction fan with the associated air lines B and Fittings.
- the extracted air is fed to the exhaust air scrubber 23.
- the parameters exhaust air volume (m3 / h), exhaust air temperature (° C) and CO2 content (%) are continuously measured and registered in the exhaust air. The process is then monitored and optimized.
- the bio-washer 23 has the following dimensions:
- the sludge age in the activated sludge plant is 0.2 - 1.0 days, preferably 0.5 days.
- the higher-quality microorganisms, the eukaryotes eg protozoa
- prokaryotes bacteria
- the metabolic intensity is inversely proportional to the size of the organisms.
- a bacterium can divide every 20 - 40 minutes, so that after one day it has about 248 offspring.
- the amount of excess sludge produced depends on the sludge age and the sludge load. Under the given circumstances, the amount is 0.8 - 1.6 kg TS / kg BOD5 degradation.
- the addition of Manure / urine slurry with a BOD of 15 - 40 kg / m3 an activated sludge mass of 18 - 48 kg / m3 are formed.
- the formation rate is approx. 36 kg TS / m3 slurry.
- an adapted bacterial mass is formed in the bio-washer's activation system 25. This arises both when the odorous substances are broken down, as well as through the targeted addition of liquid manure, leachate from the rotting halls and condensates from the cooled exhaust air. Thanks to the microbiological mechanisms described, this biogenic mass is able to initiate and accelerate the rotting process. It is therefore according to the invention the raw compost material before or at the entrance to the rotting drum 6 and if necessary also after the rotting drum 6 via lines E and E 'this bacterial mass is added.
- bacterial mass is metered into the compulsory mixer so that the rest of the breakdown takes place in the intensive rot.
- the amount of the bacterial sludge is 0.5 to 5 kg TS / Mg fresh compost, preferably 2 kg TS / Mg.
- Oxygen transfer plays an important role in the substrate-water-microorganism cell-air system. Especially in the oxidation of liquid manure substrates, the O2 supply to the microorganisms must be more intensive than with other C sources. The more intensely the supplied air is mixed with the substrate, the higher the O2 transition air-substrate-cell. This is used in the germination plant.
- the microorganisms are at a certain stage in the exponential phase.
- the growth rate of the microorganisms is practically constant and the multiplication takes place after a geometric progression.

Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a method for low-odor aerobic treatment (composting) of liquid and / or solid animal excrement mixed with organic carbon carrier material in a fermentation drum.
Depending on the husbandry system, the waste from livestock farming is in liquid form (liquid manure, liquid manure) and / or in solid form (solid manure). The daily amount of animal excrement in kilograms per livestock unit and day (1 GV: 500 kg live weight) is e.g. for liquid manure from pigs 37 kg / GV.d (
In many cases, animal excrement is used because of its content of organic matter, plant nutrients and trace elements for soil improvement and humus formation or fertilization of agricultural areas. In addition to the possible beneficial effects of direct application on outdoor areas, there are also dangers and problems. In several countries, the responsible authorities have therefore passed laws and ordinances on measures to prevent over-fertilization with manure and poultry manure (e.g. FRG - Lower Saxony, the Netherlands). Even if these regulations are complied with, there are examples of the following dangers:
With proper application, ie with plant-appropriate quantities and at times when the plants assimilate, the nutrients contained in the liquid manure and chicken droppings are largely absorbed by the plants; Excessive amounts of nitrite, nitrate and phosphate are, however, especially in light soils, only slightly bound, so that they can get into the groundwater by washing out. If this is used as drinking water, nitrite and nitrate in particular pose a health hazard. The nitrate content in drinking water must therefore not exceed 50 mg / l in accordance with the drinking water guidelines of WH0. In the case of rotted solid manure, the nutrients are more difficult to obtain or break down or convert than in the case of untreated liquid manure.
In the event of improper application and storage of agricultural waste and wastewater, nutrients, pathogens and organic, biodegradable constituents can be introduced into these waters through the washing away of agricultural land and farmland. Increased nutrient concentration, especially in phosphorus and nitrogen, leads to oxygen depletion and increased plant growth in water (eutrophication).
Liquid manure, chicken droppings and liquid manure must not be discharged directly into municipal wastewater treatment plants because of their high BOD pollution and high nutrient content. Such disposal may only be possible after pretreatment that meets the specified initial concentrations.
Animal excrement can contain various types of pathogens and parasites, which can also pose a serious health risk to humans. The transmission of the pathogens is possible both directly through contact in the handling of animal excrement and indirectly via contamination of fodder plants and food, as well as through surface or groundwater contamination or leaching.
Wastes from animal husbandry, but also from vegetable matter that has been fermented, can give off unpleasant smells. They not only have a nuisance on the environment, but also affect health if the emissions contain toxic or irritant gases (e.g. hydrogen sulfide, ammonia). The urea excreted by the animal is broken down into carbon dioxide and ammonia by the urease also contained in the excrement. If the liquid manure is stored temporarily until it is spread without adequate ventilation, the biomass falls into autolysis, which leads to increased odor emissions, e.g. through ammonia and hydrogen sulfide. On the other hand, with artificial ventilation, the odorants are released into the atmosphere, provided that the exhaust air is not subjected to any additional treatment to reduce odors.
From the aforementioned disadvantages, there are several goals for the treatment methods. The decisive factor for this is firstly the possibility of using the treated waste, i.e. whether they can be recycled as fertilizer in their own farm or as a fertilizer, or whether disposal is necessary if e.g. the agricultural area required for proper spreading is not available or any further movement on soil or due to odor emissions is prohibited for reasons of water protection.
According to the specified goals and operational framework conditions, various technical processes are used today for the treatment of agricultural waste, which are characterized in combination or in sole use by the following processes.
-
Aerobe Behandlung
in flüssiger Phase (Belüftung)
in fester Phase (Kompostierung)Aerobic treatment
in the liquid phase (ventilation)
in solid phase (composting) - Anaerobe Behandlung (Vergärung)Anaerobic treatment (fermentation)
Both processes lead to mineralization and stabilization, combined with odor reduction and improved handling due to reduced viscosity and - in the case of composting - particle size. The heat released during aerobic treatment can be used to kill pathogens and for technical purposes; the emission of ammonia serves the goal of reducing the nutrient content as well as the anaerobic denitrification.
- Fällung von Phosphat (z.B. mit Kalkmilch);Precipitation of phosphate (e.g. with milk of lime);
-
Bindung von Ammoniak mit Säure
zur Verminderung des Nährstoffgehaltes im Abwasser bei Rückgewinnung der Nährstoffe in Verbindung mit physikalischen Trennverfahren;Binding of ammonia with acid
to reduce the nutrient content in the wastewater when the nutrients are recovered in connection with physical separation processes; -
to improve handling; -
Anwendung chemischer Desinfektionsmittel
zur Abtötung von Krankheitserregern.Use of chemical disinfectants
to kill pathogens.
- Abtrennen von Feststoffen aus der flüssigen Phase (Siebung, Sedimentation, Flotation, Zentrifugation);Separation of solids from the liquid phase (sieving, sedimentation, flotation, centrifugation);
- Bindung von Wasser und Nährstoffen (Phosphat, Ammonium) an ad- oder absorbierende Feststoffe (z.B. Stroh, Tonminerale);Binding of water and nutrients (phosphate, ammonium) to adsorbing or absorbing solids (e.g. straw, clay minerals);
- Flockung suspendierter Feststoffe;Flocculation of suspended solids;
-
Trocknung abgetrennter Feststoffe,
Drying of separated solids,
to improve handling and to reduce the Nutrient content in the liquid phase and possibly for nutrient recovery.
The chemical and physical processes are usually only sub-processes for the treatment of animal excrement and can also lead to secondary emissions (transfer of the problems to another medium). Only biological processes are therefore suitable for a holistic solution, with aerobic treatment becoming increasingly important. The known methods of the anaerobic liquid manure treatment methods are usually carried out in the liquid phase, which leads to increased expenditure by increasing the masses and to secondary emissions (waste water).
In addition, there is often only a shift of the problem from the solid phase to the liquid phase. In contrast, aerobic composting processes both liquid and solid animal excrement.
- the nutrient supply and C / N ratio,
- the water supply,
- the structure with regard to the exchange of respiratory gases and
- the pH.
Process engineering measures can create boundary conditions in which the microorganisms can work with the highest possible activity.
For example, when the system is supplied with oxygen, the problem is not usually the necessary quantities to provide 1 - 4 g O₂ per gram of organic matter, but in the introduction and the even distribution of oxygen in the rotting material. However, this is essentially a function of the air pore volume and the conductivity of the material. These purely physical properties have a decisive influence on the oxygen input. It is important not only a large air pore volume, but also a large number of pores. Given the large inhomogeneity of the waste, pretreatment is inevitable in most cases. The air pore content is also determined by the water content of the material. Since microorganisms can only eat their food in dissolved form, the supply of water is just as important as that of oxygen. The existing total pore volume of a material must therefore be divided into a proportion for the water and one for the oxygen. There are specific relations for each material.
The pH value of the starting material has a decisive influence especially on the initial phase of the rotting. It should be in the neutral range or in an alkaline environment. Initial pH values in the acidic range cause an inhibition of the rotting with the undesirable side effects, e.g. the formation of odor-intensive substances. Most of the native organic substances have a pH in the neutral range.
Another parameter is the ratio of carbon to nitrogen. This essentially determines the speed of the rotting process. Values around 20 can be viewed favorably, since then the highest degradation rates can be achieved per unit of time, based on most organic substances. But the C / N ratio also has a certain meaning for the application. Wide C / N ratios mean that nitrogen is not sufficiently available to form the cell substance. A nitrogen fixation during use is then likely. In order to prevent this, the compost should have C / N ratios below 20 in any case.
In all efforts to accelerate the process of rotting, it should not be overlooked that the crop-grown application of the product obtained sets limits which make an excessive reduction in the rotting time seem irrelevant. The phytotoxicity of insufficiently degraded material should be emphasized, which means that compost material of different origins has been discredited by users in the past. According to the current state of knowledge, depending on the previous rotting process, a compost must be 12 to 18 weeks old in order to be considered safe in this regard.
The right choice of the materials to rot must be made from two points of view. On the one hand, the compost should only be fed with substances that are microbially implementable, i.e. that can be clearly composted by the process. On the other hand, the rotting substances that interfere with the use of the end product compost must be kept away. Mention should be made here e.g. the heavy metals or organic pollutants that are neither broken down during the composting process nor converted into an insoluble, plant-compatible form. When composting agricultural waste, there are deviations from the listed conditions, which mainly take into account domestic waste and municipal sewage sludge.
Animal excrement in the form of liquid manure has a sufficient supply of nutrients and water for the microorganisms as well as a favorable pH value in the neutral range. The C / N ratio is very narrow in all animal species at 7 to 12, which leads to nitrogen losses in aerobic treatment processes at elevated temperatures due to a lack of available C compounds. Due to the lack of structure, liquid manure can only be composted after the addition of structure-forming substances, while with separated solids from liquid manure and chicken droppings more severe separation of the liquid or partial drying of the manure in the barn or suitable drying systems, a structure that is sufficient for composting can be achieved. In solid manure and in chicken droppings, the C / N ratio is higher than in liquid manure due to the straw content and the discharge of part of the nitrogen-rich urine in the barn.
The green waste resulting from landscape maintenance shows very strong differences in the C / N ratio, water content, degree of lignification and the structure, which can be achieved by adding N-rich substances, liquid or moisture-absorbing substances and shredding to optimal conditions.
The optimal water content for the composting of agricultural waste during composting is the higher, the more roughly structured the dry aggregates or the good itself is.
In addition to considerable losses in mass and volume, the rotting process is characterized by a narrowing of the C / N ratio, a reduction in the contents of water, organic substance, total nitrogen and ammonium nitrogen and an increase in nitrate nitrogen. When composting animal excrement, the characteristic manure smell and the ammonia smell that later develops is lost within one to three weeks, and an earthy smell caused by actinomycetes emerges.
If the optimal water content and structural conditions for the composting of agricultural waste are set, the temperatures in the rent rise to 60 to 70 ° C within two to four days. Over a period of four to seven weeks, the temperatures gradually drop to the ambient level. By the level of the temperatures reached and the holding times disinfection of the compost and killing of weed seeds can be assumed. To ensure this, in addition to temperature control, rents must also be converted during the thermophilic rotting phase.
In der Literatur , z.B. Schuchardt, F.: Ein Verfahren zur Kompostierung von Schweine-Flüssigmist unter Zusatz von Stroh und Perlit. Landbauforschung Völkenrode 35 (1985), H.l, S. 11 - 19, und Galler, W.W., Davey, C.B.: High-rate poultry manure composting with saw dust. In the literature, e.g. Schuchardt, F .: A process for the composting of liquid pig manure with the addition of straw and pearlite. Landbauforschung Völkenrode 35 (1985), H.l, pp. 11-19, and Galler, W.W., Davey, C.B .: High-rate poultry manure composting with saw dust. Livestock Waste Management (1971), pp. 159 - 162, numerous examples can be found about experimental as well as practical plants for composting animal excrement with various additives. The aim of the aggregates in all examples is to bind the excess water and form an air-permeable structure of the compost heap. The additives used are e.g. for liquid manure e.g. Straw, debris, sawdust or, for example, for chicken droppings including sawdust, peat, bark or foam.
If compost made from agricultural waste is to be put on the market, the storage and handling properties of the compost must be taken into account in addition to the legal foundations and relevant standards, which relate in particular to labeling requirements, minimum levels of nutrients, maximum levels of pollutants and decontamination. A distribution in plastic bags or sacks requires a spreadable and free-flowing structure of the compost, which is not destroyed even when stored for several months, even at storage heights of over 2 m, as is usual on pallets. No liquid should escape from the plastic containers, and users, who usually sprinkle the compost with their hands, must not get excessively dirty. The dry matter content required for storage depends on the structure of the compost mixture and the degree of stabilization. Dry matter contents of 20% to 50% are sufficient for composts made from mixtures of straw and liquid manure, solid manure and plants, while a compost made from pure chicken manure should have a dry matter content of 75%.
In the known methods of aerobic treatment of animal excrement, odor problems (e.g. pig manure) arise in particular from uncontrolled degradation processes. Long composting times of at least twelve to eighteen weeks are also required to meet the standardized quality criteria.
For example, AT-PS 382 862 relates to the drying and conditioning of chicken manure or similar pasty substances. The latter, however, must be able to be shaped into small rods like chicken manure. The process is used to treat chicken manure without any additives. It works discontinuously, with two phases being distinguished. In the first microbiological phase, which lasts 20 to 30 hours, intensive ventilation of the chicken manure takes place, whereby temperatures of 70 to 80 ° C are reached through microbial conversion processes (composting). The process is then switched to the through-flow drying phase, in which external air from the chicken coop is blown into the cylindrical container and the chicken manure is thus dried to a residual moisture content of less than 15%. The flow phase lasts 10 to 15 hours. The exothermic rotting process is used for drying and conditioning purposes. This biologically aerobic oxidation process is used only to the extent that it is necessary for drying and the resulting reduction in odor of the chicken manure (so-called dry stabilization). However, it does not serve for the selective degradation of the odorous substances, so that in the inevitable moistening of the dried material for the application or during the same, in particular in the case of Chicken manure, again strong odor emissions can be expected. This is also the case with normal storage in the presence of moisture.
A 210 382 describes a device for composting organic waste, as is used in previously conventional processes. It consists of a drum which can be rotated about the longitudinal axis, which is mounted on side supports with shaft stubs arranged at the front and can be moved by means of at least one drive device arranged in the area of a front. The drum jacket consists of perforated sheets and therefore does not allow controlled air flow and exhaust air purification, as is absolutely necessary for concentrated extraction of the exhaust air and subsequent treatment to reduce the smell of the process.
The waste is mixed with vegetable waste such as sawdust, shavings, chopped straw, etc. and an activator, the mixture is then moistened, piled up for rent and fermented anaerobically until a temperature of 65 to 70 ° C is reached. It is then moistened again and composted at 40 to 45 ° C under aerobic conditions. The material, known as the activator, is obtained in a two-stage process from vegetable green mass, chopped reeds, straw, pomace, the mud from the reeds, poultry manure and peat bran. Typical mixing ratios in this process are 20 to 25% by weight of waste from the canning industry, 65 to 70% by weight of vegetable waste (structural material), and 5 to 10% by weight of activator. The dwell time in the anaerobic rent is 14 to 18 days and in the subsequent
A 244 391 relates to a method for aerating a rotting and an apparatus for performing this method. This method relates to odor reduction in that conditioning, i.e. the temperature and humidity setting of the exhaust air from the rotting is carried out for the purpose of optimal operation of a conventional bio or compost filter. This is a pure exhaust air conditioning to ensure the operation of a biological filter under constant conditions. Here, the air extracted from the pack is fed to a washing and / or cooling unit in which the temperature is reduced from 60 to 70 ° C. to 30 to 40 ° C. The above method serves the sole washing and cooling function and does not allow any special adaptation to the respective substances causing the odor nuisance, as a result of which odor removal is also possible only to a limited extent.
Handhabungseigenschaften. The object of the invention was therefore to find a process which avoids the above disadvantages and the low-odor production of compost from agricultural waste, preferably with the inclusion of municipal waste, taking into account the prescribed standards and storage and handling properties.

According to a further feature of the invention, bacterial sludge from the activated sludge plant is added to the raw compost material at or before the drum entrance.
In the process according to the invention, adapted bacteria are grown in the activated sludge plant of the bio-washer together with the downstream germ-multiplying basin for the decomposition of odorous substances, which bacteria are added to the composting process. Furthermore, the biochemical conversion of odor-intensive substances (e.g. ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, mercaptans) takes place essentially in the closed fermentation drum and downstream suction-ventilated rotting hall. The odor-laden exhaust air is extracted and cleaned in the bio-washer and subsequent bio-filter.
The composting time is shortened through the use of the adapted bacterial mass and the controllable composting process in the rotting drum, rotting hall and post rotting. The total time is 4 to 11 weeks, preferably 7 weeks. The quality of the compost produced depends on the composting process and the raw compost material. In the method according to the invention, the organic sum parameters (organic substance, total carbon) and the plant tolerance (fresh mass yield, germination rate) are improved compared to conventional systems. The nutrient content (nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium) is increased and is predominantly available in plant-available form. The pollutant content is primarily determined by the composting substances. Due to the use of liquid manure and low-pollutant carbon carrier (e.g. waste paper, cardboard, etc.) and structural material (e.g. green waste, chopped material, etc.), the heavy metal content is in comparison to the minimum quality requirements of ÖNORM S 2022, quality criteria for waste compost, and ÖNORM S 2021 , Growing media, very low. For example, the cadmium content of the compost produced in the invention is only around 10-20% of the conventionally produced composts and growing media.
The method according to the invention is also superior to conventional systems with regard to epidemic hygiene. While in conventional systems the inactivation of Salmonella and enterococci is at a reduction rate of the CFU (colony-forming units) of five powers of ten, this is 6 to 8 powers of ten in the process according to the invention.
Further features and advantages of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the following description with reference to the accompanying drawings.

First, the additives are added in stages at different points in the composting process. Organic sorting fractions from municipal waste, such as waste paper, waste cardboard, waste wood, etc., are preferably used as
The amount of exhaust air can be adjusted in terms of quantity, according to the biochemical requirements. The degradation process in the
The degree of filling of the material in the
The rotting process is then continued in the enclosed
After thorough mixing, the pore volume in the intensive rotting is initially 25% to 60%, preferably 35%, the material density is 0.5 to 1.0 mg / m³, preferably 0.8 mg / m³. The stay in the main section is one to eight weeks, preferably three weeks (21 days). The exhaust air is preferably sucked off through the rent in ventilation channels located at the bottom of the rotting plate. For this purpose, a volume-adjustable suction fan with the associated air lines B and Fittings. The extracted air is fed to the
Die Abluftreinigungsanlage besteht im wesentlichen aus dem Biowäscher 23 mit nachgeschaltetem Biofilter 24.The odor-laden exhaust air is extracted at the following points in the process:
The amount of exhaust air is therefore 600 to 4000 m³ / mg of compost raw material, preferably 1000 m³ / mg. The exhaust air purification system essentially consists of the bio-washer 23 with a
Der Biowäscher 23 weist folgende Dimensionierung auf: The bio-washer 23 has the following dimensions:
Degrees of degradation, measured as odor units (GE), of 90 - 96% are achieved with these parameters. The bio-washer can be designed as a spray tower, countercurrent or cross-flow washer, in each case in one or more stages, preferably as a two-stage spray-stream washer, wherein according to the invention, adapted seed cultures are grown at the same time. The wastewater is recycled.
For the rest of the odor elimination, a biofilter 24 (compost filter) with the following design principles is installed. Efficiencies of 98 to 99.9% measured in total by olfactometry are thus achieved.
The cleaned exhaust air has a concentration of 50 to 150 GE, preferably 70 GE, and escapes into the atmosphere as clean gas.
Dabei entstehen folgende potentielle Abbauprodukte:
- - Gase:
- Kohlendioxid, Schwefelwasserstoff, Ammoniak, Wasserstoff
- - Säuren:
- Fettsäuren (wie oben)
- - Amine:
- - Sonstige:
- Mercaptane, Indol, Skatol, Phenol, Kresol
- - gases:
- Carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, hydrogen
- - acids:
- Fatty acids (as above)
- - amines:
- biogenic or primary amines such as cadaverine, putrescine (body poisons)
- - Other:
- Mercaptane, indole, skatole, phenol, cresol
The heterogeneous composition of the exhaust air constituents from microbial metabolic processes makes it necessary to use summarily and non-specific processes for their purification. Chemical, biochemical, physical and thermal processes are suitable for this.
The subject invention requires a biochemical process, the goal being not only the desired odor reduction or elimination, but aerobic bacterial cultures being grown in a special process step. According to the invention, these cultures are added to the compost raw material from liquid manure and organic carrier material when they are introduced into the
The microorganisms can settle on baffles and fillings as biological turf or can be suspended in the washing liquid be. The process according to the invention works according to the activated sludge process with suspended sludge flakes. The dimensions of the activated sludge plant are shown in Table 1 in the appendix to this description.
The degradation performance depends on the type of microorganisms and the total activated sludge mass, which for process engineering reasons is in the concentration range of 1 to 10 g dry matter per liter of water. The degradation capacity of the dirt in the wash water depends on the sludge load BTS (kg BSB₅ / kg TS.d). It is calculated from the dirt load (BSB₅) and the sludge dry weight (TS) and is in the order of 1 to 12 kg / kg.d, preferably 5 kg / kg.d. The oxygen supply should be designed so that at least 0.5 to 2.0 mg oxygen per liter is obtained in the wash water. The activated sludge plant consists of two parts, namely the highly loaded activated

The amount of excess sludge produced depends on the sludge age and the sludge load. Under the given circumstances, the amount is 0.8 - 1.6 kg TS / kg BOD₅ degradation. In the case of BSB₅ degradation in the heavily loaded activation stage, the addition of Manure / urine slurry with a BOD of 15 - 40 kg / m³ an activated sludge mass of 18 - 48 kg / m³ are formed. In fattening pigs, the formation rate is approx. 36 kg TS / m³ slurry.
Die Menge des Bakterienschlammes beträgt 0,5 bis 5 kg TS/Mg Frischkompost, vorzugsweise 2 kg TS/Mg.According to the invention, an adapted bacterial mass is formed in the
For the purpose of bacterial growth and multiplication, 5-20% of the slurry, preferably 10%, is fed to the aeration plant. On average, a bacterial sludge mass of approx. 36 kg dry matter is formed per m³ of liquid manure. This mass is in liquid sludge form with a concentration of 5 to 20 kg TS / m³, preferably 10 kg TS / m³. A dewatering machine, preferably a centrifuge, is used for thickening. Thereafter, the solids content of the bacterial sludge is 50-250 kg TS / m³, preferably 150 kg TS / m³. This means that an average of 240 liters of thickened bacterial sludge is produced from one cubic meter of manure. The amount of the recycled and mixed with the raw compost material bacterial sludge is 5-50 l / Mg, preferably 15 l / Mg or 2.2 kg TS / Mg raw compost.
In the development of microorganisms, different phases can be differentiated, whereby for the method according to the invention lag phase, the acceleration phase and the exponential phase are of particular importance.
Oxygen transfer plays an important role in the substrate-water-microorganism cell-air system. Especially in the oxidation of liquid manure substrates, the O₂ supply to the microorganisms must be more intensive than with other C sources. The more intensely the supplied air is mixed with the substrate, the higher the O₂ transition air-substrate-cell. This is used in the germination plant.
In the continuous process, the microorganisms are at a certain stage in the exponential phase. Here the growth rate of the microorganisms is practically constant and the multiplication takes place after a geometric progression.
With large substrate concentrations µ reaches a saturation value. The growth stops when the food is used up or when toxic metabolites accumulate in the substrate. Therefore, the mixing ratio of bacterial mass to liquid manure and subsequently also to the carbon carrier material must be adjusted so that for the odor-reducing microorganisms the saturation area is present. The rate of degradation, which is directly dependent on the bacterial concentration and has extensive technical and economic effects, can only be increased by shortening the first phase (lag phase) through biomass vaccination. This means that a high concentration of organisms is already present when the manure enters the rotting drum. The continuous metering and mixing is important for the operation of the composting plant according to the invention, since in the conventional methods a flora which only develops slowly has to be grown.
In the method according to the invention, the bacterial mass is cultivated in the activated sludge plant, preferably with a
The effectiveness of the adapted bacterial mass depends on the environmental conditions of the inoculated substrate. The bacteria are grown in the liquid phase of the activated sludge plant with odorants and liquid manure additive. Thus, the greatest effect occurs when metering into the slurry feed line E or E '. This takes place in a mixing section before entering the
Somit hängt die Entscheidung über die Zugabestelle weitgehend vom Mischungsverhältnis Gülle zu Kohlenstoffträger und Strukturmaterial ab.On the other hand, pollutant degradation takes place in the fermentation drum in a liquid / solid phase at elevated temperatures of 50 - 70 ° C. While the bacteria are relatively insensitive to the elevated temperatures, they need a certain time to adapt to the solid phase. So the decision about the addition point largely depends on the mixture ratio of liquid manure Carbon carrier and structural material.
