Definitions
- the invention relates to a drum filling machine of the type mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.
- Semi or fully automatic drum filling machines for individual drums or for several drums arranged on pallets must bring the working position of a tool slide through relative alignment in each case over the bung hole of the next drum to be processed and then control the movement of the tool slide in such a way that the tools arranged on it successively Unscrew the screw cap, fill the barrel, screw a cap back on and, if necessary, attach a clinching cap.
- individual tools are provided, such as screwdrivers, filling valves, clinkers, etc.
- drum filling machines for filling drums arranged on pallets
- the working position of the tool slide must be brought into register-correct engagement with all the bung holes one after the other.
- the object of the present invention is therefore to create a fully automatic drum filling machine of the type mentioned at the outset, which is more suitable for toxic and in particular explosive filling goods.
- a line camera is provided on the filling machine, which can detect the positions of the bung holes in a relative movement over the barrel surfaces and enter them into the control program. It can also be used to fill chaotically arranged barrels fully automatically, i.e. without an operator on site.
- a line scan camera is particularly advantageous because it is much cheaper both in terms of acquisition and in terms of computer program expenditure than a surface-recording camera. It also has the advantage that the required object illumination can be limited to one line. This means that significantly lower light outputs are required, which constitutes a significant design advantage in order to comply with explosion protection regulations.
- the features of claim 4 are also advantageously provided.
- the tool slide which is usually used only for changing tools, but not for finding bung holes, is used according to the invention for both movements, so that an additional drive is saved, which in turn simplifies the fulfillment of strict explosion protection regulations.
- the features of claim 5 are advantageously provided. This is particularly advantageous for pallets that have only two barrels next to one another in the row direction. If only a narrow edge strip lying towards the center is detected by each of these, the line can be very short, for example only in the length of half a barrel diameter.
- the advantage is that the resolution can be increased for a given line scan camera. However, an at least rough pre-alignment of the drums is necessary in such a way that the bung holes all point essentially towards the center.
- barrels 1 are to be filled, which, as the figure shows, each have four on a pallet 2, which stand in the machine on a conveyor belt 4 driven by a motor 3, which in the direction of arrow 5 is drivable.
- the tool slide 10 carries in the simplified shown Embodiment only two barrel treatment tools, namely a filling valve with filling tube 11 and suction device 12 and a screwdriver 13.
- a control computer (not shown) is provided, to which the drives are connected in a suitable manner.
- a line camera 16 is provided on a fixedly arranged gallows 15, which, with the viewing angle ⁇ shown, captures an observation line 17 which is oriented transversely to the transport direction 5.
- the entire surface can be detected and entered into the control computer, which can determine the bunghole positions.
- the length of the control line 17 is shorter than the width of the pallet 2. This makes it necessary that the barrels 1 have to be roughly pre-aligned so that the bung holes are essentially in the middle. Since the line is much shorter, the point resolution increases for a given line camera or, with the same resolution, a simpler and less expensive camera can be used.
- the line can also be longer and cover the entire width of the pallet 2, so that the entire barrel surfaces can be detected. This is particularly advantageous if not two barrels are next to each other, as in the illustrated embodiment, but a larger number of barrels is placed on the pallet.
- the line camera 16 lies in the transport direction of the arrow 5 at a distance in front of the tool slide 10 which is greater than the length of the pallet 2.
- the pallet is thus moved in the transport direction (in the direction of the end having the motor 3 of the conveyor belt 4) is first completely captured by the line camera before the first bunghole comes into treatment engagement under the tool slide 10.
- the control computer can therefore first detect all the bunghole positions and carry out a path optimization before the first bunghole is to be approached.
- the conveyor belt 4 can also be driven in a reversing manner in both directions and, for example, pass the pallet 2 several times under the line camera 16 to increase the reading accuracy.
- the control computer then sets the tool slide 10 in motion and first moves the screwdriver 13 into position over the first bunghole to be treated. With the height drive 7 or possibly with its own height drive for the screwdriver, the screwdriver 13 is lowered onto the bung hole and unscrews the barrel. The tool slide 10 is then moved until the filling tube 11 comes into engagement via the same bung hole. The barrel is filled. Then the tool slide 10 is moved back until the screwdriver 13 engages, and the barrel is screwed again.
- Additional tools can be provided on the tool slide 10, for example a clinker, which can be brought into engagement with the same bunghole in the same way.
- the conveyor belt 4 and the tool slide are moved until the screwdriver 13 is engaged over the next bung hole to be treated. Then the barrel treatment cycle begins in the manner described from the front. In this way, all bung holes are drilled one after the other. Since the position of the individual bung holes was previously recorded in the control computer, the drives can be driven in an optimized path by suitable control of the drives. When the conveyor belt 4 is reversed, the bung holes can be traversed in a circle, for example.
- drum filling machine shown can be varied widely.
- only one slide namely the tool slide 10 is provided for controlling the tools 11 and 13 in the direction of the arrow 9, that is to say transversely to the pallet transport direction 5. This serves both to change the tool and to move to a new bunghole position in the direction transverse to the pallet transport direction.
- These control movements can, however, also be carried out by separate carriages, the bunghole search, for example, being carried out with a cross slide arrangement and the tool carriage 10 being provided as a sub-carriage.
- the line camera 16 can also be arranged differently than shown, namely directly on the rail of the tool slide fixed in the direction of the arrow 9. It then detects the bung holes in the engagement area of the tool slide. A path optimization for approaching the bung holes is also possible, for example, the pallet 2 can pass under the position of the tool slide twice in succession, the first time for reading the positions in the control computer and the second time for the machining operations.

Abstract
Description
Die Erfindung betrifft eine Faßfüllmaschine der im Oberbegriff des Anspruches 1 genannten Art.The invention relates to a drum filling machine of the type mentioned in the preamble of
Semi or fully automatic drum filling machines for individual drums or for several drums arranged on pallets must bring the working position of a tool slide through relative alignment in each case over the bung hole of the next drum to be processed and then control the movement of the tool slide in such a way that the tools arranged on it successively Unscrew the screw cap, fill the barrel, screw a cap back on and, if necessary, attach a clinching cap. For this purpose, individual tools are provided, such as screwdrivers, filling valves, clinkers, etc. When a barrel is finished, the working position of the tool slide must be aligned over the bunghole of the next barrel to be treated.
In drum filling machines for filling drums arranged on pallets, there is the additional task that several drums are arranged on a pallet, which should be filled automatically with a program control if possible. The working position of the tool slide must be brought into register-correct engagement with all the bung holes one after the other.
Fully automatic work is desirable with such drum filling machines, since they are often used to fill toxic or explosive substances that would endanger an operator positioned nearby.
Known drum filling machines of the type mentioned can already largely automatically fill the drums, but have problems in detecting the positions of the bung holes in the various drums of the pallet for the control program. For example, it is known that the control program only knows fixed bunghole positions. Therefore, for such machines, the drums must be precisely pre-aligned so that the bung holes are in precisely predetermined positions, which can be achieved, for example, with templates. Another possibility is to use a "teaching" process to manually approach all the bung holes before entering the filling process and to enter the positions in the program, after which the machine can then fill automatically. However, all of these known machines at least temporarily require the presence of an operator or require barrels set up on the pallets in a highly precisely adjusted manner.
The object of the present invention is therefore to create a fully automatic drum filling machine of the type mentioned at the outset, which is more suitable for toxic and in particular explosive filling goods.
This object is achieved with the features of the characterizing part of
According to the invention, a line camera is provided on the filling machine, which can detect the positions of the bung holes in a relative movement over the barrel surfaces and enter them into the control program. It can also be used to fill chaotically arranged barrels fully automatically, i.e. without an operator on site. A line scan camera is particularly advantageous because it is much cheaper both in terms of acquisition and in terms of computer program expenditure than a surface-recording camera. It also has the advantage that the required object illumination can be limited to one line. This means that significantly lower light outputs are required, which constitutes a significant design advantage in order to comply with explosion protection regulations.
The features of
The features of
The features of
Finally, the features of
In the drawing, a preferred embodiment of the drum filling machine according to the invention is shown in a perspective view, for example and schematically.
In the drum filling machine shown in the figure,
Next to the conveyor belt there is a stationary column 6, on which a height-
So with the three drives in the direction of
To detect the positions of the
If the
In the exemplary embodiment shown, the length of the
In the illustrated embodiment of the machine, the
The control computer then sets the
Additional tools can be provided on the
After completion of the treatment of a bung hole, the
In the context of the present invention, the drum filling machine shown can be varied widely.
In the exemplary embodiment shown, only one slide, namely the
The
